Perhaps - but he's still a manager with four promotions in seven years as a manager. You could look at the relegations, of course, but context to those are that he had the smallest budget in the league by a significant margin and when handed a relatively competitive budget then he's shown he can get over the line.
I think there's a good number of chairmen who would take his record & his character and would like to work with him.

Chris Kirchner was a prolific conman who scammed people out of 10s of millions of $ and will spend the majority of his life in jail because of it.
Rooney was committed to helping the club in anyway he can, I don’t doubt that, and obviously saw Kirchner as a legitimate candidate - many smarter, business people also trusted his word. I don’t think you can lay that at Rooney’s feet whose advisors would’ve been persuading him anyway.

For a 19 year old who also had 7 assists, therefore 15 goal involvements. I’d say that’s relatively well. I know that no 19 year old in League One this season got remotely close to those numbers, for reference.

Rooney, in the end, did a good job with Derby - albeit how much of it is attributed to Rosenior is anyone's guess.
One thing I can't fault him for is his work-rate an desire to get into management. He did really create a good atmosphere at the club when it could've easily been toxic and he started the season without know what players he could sign and had to lean on what, fortunately, turned out to be a very good academy.
We could've had -9 or -12 point deduction and still stayed up that year and that's with a wage cap of £4k a week, wasn't it? In the Championship. Non-league teams pay more than that (sometimes). Admittedly, I've got no idea how this plays out at Plymouth and he needs good people around him but he will put everything into it and I wouldn't be surprised if he does a relatively good job, i.e. steady midtable finish.

He was 18/19 when he was at Ipswich, to be fair. Younger than what Whittaker was when we sold him to Swansea.
Parrott was very highly regarded coming through the academy at Spurs, he made his Premier League debut at 17. He went on loan to MK Dons at 19 and did relatively well. Struggled in the Championship the following season with form and fitness, but has had a really good loan spell in Eredivsie this time out, having just turned 22.
He’s been exposed to first team football from a young age, always on loan, which isn’t easy for some players. We’ve had a ton of talented young players come on loan throughout our history and struggle: Whittingham, Bannan, Mengi to name three off the top of my head.
Liam Delap was another who went out on loan, arguably too young and struggled. He came into himself at Hull and played well. I would back Parrott to have a similar impact, personally. I will never be against us taking high ceiling prospects, ideally on permanent deals, rather than developmental loans.

He’s a very talented footballer, fundamentally, so it’s not completely unsurprising to see him do well overseas. Young players on loan don’t always showcase the best of themselves, whilst others thrive.
He’s the type of player I’d like to see us sign permanently, rather than a loan. An asset to work with and develop.

Attacking players by their very nature struggle to get into games at times, though? It applies to almost every single attacking player in the Football League and 80% of the Premier League - essentially anyone who isn't playing at an elite level.
My frustration was the limited amount of time Sibley was afforded to his peers. It always felt like he needed to score or assist in every game without the threat of being dropped. It created a bad environment for him to develop IMO. It happens, of course, not always the best players at academy level continue the progression through to senior football. I really do feel like with Sibs we have really dropped the ball, obviously that's my subjective opinion, but above all else I want to see him progress and settle somewhere. I don't think that's at Rotherham (personally) but it's arguably not under Warne at Derby either.
