On the field of play, I've liked what I've seen.
His first season was good, up until Christmas he was the striker and he was scoring at a good rate. Disappeared for a while, not sure why. Returned in the playoffs and we all know what happened there.
Cocu's football stifled him. I honestly just think he's a player who's had a lot of bad luck over the last couple of seasons.
Hopefully he can get his career back on track, I'd like that to be with us, but sadly I don't think it will be.

This is exactly what I’m thinking now. I cannot face the thought of another season of this man and the coaching staff at the club - I want them all gone, cleared out so we can actually have someone in who knows what they are doing and start all over again.

Sadly my friend i think you are going to proven correct, next weekend is a Cup Final make no mistake and i just cant see us winning the game,it may end up we only need to draw but even that looks unlikely, today was a massive chance to put this to bed,we get our nose in front again and have a crazy 10 minutes again,it was a nothing game against a side that was as poor as us.
I am now resigned to thinking were going down

As it stands we need a massive performance next week. One that I very much doubt we are capable of, 6 loses on the bounce with zero desire or fight. If Rooney or the players were capable of it why haven’t we seen it. For the past 2 games we were in positions to win games against opponents who had little to play for and somehow managed to throw it away.

I currently feel very little affinity for the players I genuinely wouldn’t care if none of them were hear next season, manager and the club. The players show no desire for the shirt, the manager is way out his depth and a club that seems to be doing all it can to alienate the fans when they need them the most.

It’s a sad state of affairs.

Yes, it was being suggested that Jozwiak was making wrong decisions despite being well coached. I meant that players right through the team are making poor decisions,  are they all doing this despite being coached well?
I think there are lots of inadequacies in the coaching, which are reflected in poor performances on the pitch and I don't subscribe to the idea that the players aren't any good.
Whitaker is just an example of that. Okay, he's a fringe player at Swansea but did you hear Steve Cooper talking about him after the game? No surprise he's making good progress there.
Whereas I see Knight, Sibley, Bird, Buchanan going backwards here. Breaks my heart.

For god's sake! even I could tell this was going to happen and I'm stupid!? Why couldn't any of our coaching team!?

Have no idea what Rooney has in his locker for next Saturday. 'Home truths dished out', bonding trip away for a few days, different formations & line ups. Nothing is working.
An hour gone & with a seemingly disinterested opposition, we looked set for an unlikely win and survival. Then a collapse in 5 mins serving to demonstrate the total lack of backbone running through this squad. Its one thing not being good enough but its even more insulting to get ahead & then keep chucking it away. The attitude of some in the team smacks of disinterest & confusion - an indication that a) many are leaving (or planning to leave) in the summer and not really invested anymore & b) a lack of faith in an clearly inadequate manager
Every fibre of my being doesn't want us to go down to League One. But I'm increasingly thinking we need the big reset. The thought of staying up by a whisker, Rooney staying and wasting money & talent in an extended limbo land horrifies me. We've got very little to build on & taking the emotion out of it, am starting to believe we need to regroup at a lower level of football. We are not good enough to remain at this level.

We took the lead against Blackburn, Birmingham and Swansea and lost all games 2-1. It's just unforgivable. How have we blown this

Exactly. So it's a shared responsibility. Poor coaching and poor execution.

I really wanted Rooney to succeed but after today's performance I've completely lost faith...
A spineless performance coupled with extremely poor tactics. Rooney needs to go and we definitely need to try and get Wilder (whatever division we're in come next August)...a wholesale clear-out is required - the majority of the first team squad are sadly not good enough.
What a shambles and I've not even mentioned the putative takeover.

I was mad when we rolled out the red carpet for Rooney as a player. What an absolute farce. Lampard was bad enough, but the way we've completely sacrificed the identity of the club in exchange for a few more clicks and headlines. Maybe we just go the whole hog and make Kanye West the manager next season?

Just to add another voice that is completely against a protest.
At this stage of the season, with what is on the line, we don’t need to add further negativity, but do what we can from a far to not attack, but support the club and encourage the players the best we can.
How? Well that’s extremely difficult given Police and club advice is to stay away if you are there to berate or encourage the team.
We could not whip ourselves into a frenzy over every rumour and deleted tweet, squash any talk of protests, not mention the club, players or potential new owner with angry tweets.
I’m not suggesting fake “happy clapping”, simply words of encouragement.
Championship survival should be our key priority right now.

So just to make it clear, you want to boo and verbally abuse the players before a game we probably need to win to stay in this division?
Not entirely sure what you are Kingpin of.

Massive fan of Kazim & great to see him starting to get the goals his hard work deserves.
We look a totally different side with a proper focal point & he absolutely provides that. Looking at him, you know he's going to be strong & decent in the air but its his technical ability that most impresses me. The ease with which he controls the ball in the final third is such a valuable skill & largely responsible for how high we've been able to play up the pitch.
Really like the bloke as well. Big, uncompromising guy - always happy to mix it & employ the dark arts. Always encouraging his teammates & leading the pre-match huddle. And his hard work....still running with 10 mins to go tonight despite playing so much football recently
He will prove to be a excellent value signing for us - I bet Cocu regrets not gambling on him. He did look good during his brief cameos under Cocu but he could have started to make an impact a few weeks before he actually did.

I really like Buchanan especially in the formation we played vs Bournemouth. I mentioned in the match day thread that he does seem to be one of those players that needs a couple of games for his full game to click. When he first came into the team you’d would see real see-saw performances from treading on the ball one minute to whipping in a peach of a cross the next but he also seems one of those players always in the thick of it. I think he has come back in this time and it’s been a bit similar, but as the game grew on on Tuesday he got better and better. Funnily enough this is the complete opposite to Fozzy. He falls out of favour then comes back in and will be brilliant but after a run of 3 or 4 games mistakes creep into his game and cry’s of his knees are shot, he’s had his time, get rid and move on begin to appear on here.

Thank you so much @Orphanram. To be honest, it's a style I've always loved writing in (did me zero favours when it came to those serious uni assessments!) and so I wanted the book to reflect something I'd enjoy reading. It's quality to see that has happened for quite a lot of you out there. I also always wanted to just get the key thoughts of people and make sure it was something genuinely unique and insightful, rather than just the rambles of a disgruntled fan over the years. This forum and the takes of various supporters really helped to get a full feel for the overall opinions, so I didn't want to just go in on my thoughts, because honestly, who wants those?!
Thanks also @Shaftesbury Street, @Ilsonram12, @Anna, @bucktwoand @Phoenix! Incredible to get the feedback from you all. And @QuitYourJibbaJivin+ @G-Ram - hope you enjoy the book! Would love to get your thoughts. Hopefully I've not missed anyone out!
And without being soppy, massive thanks to all of you. I came into 2020 intent on finishing the book and making a success of it, but it's gone way beyond what I thought it would do. It's been a horrid old year but hopefully those of you who have picked up a copy have found it's brought just that little bit of enjoyment to you. I've got a couple more ideas in the pipeline (one Derby and two a bit wider) that I'm hoping to get stuck into in 2021...

I started reading my copy yesterday and I’m really enjoying it. I’m not sure if it’s deliberate but I think the stylistic of the narrative that runs through the book (what I have read so far) is quite unique. The opinions from the various people involved give the reader a chance to form their own opinions against the the sequence of chronological events of the last 20 years. Whilst you do see this in other books what you also tend to get is the authors bias of the opinion they’ve formed underpinning this. What’s is genuinely original (in my view) in your book is that this runs parallel to the opinion/bias that has been formed by the general views that you get on forums such as this and others that preceded it over the years, rather than the learned opinion from the established author/journalist writing the book. It has made me reflect on a fair few assumptions I’ve made over the years and also made me think more about what is happening now and has happened in the last 6 months.
