...but if they they do then get relegated the EFL's answer is only to fine them, or it has been so far.
If Villa come down again do you think the EFL will immediately stick them under a transfer embargo and seek to deduct them 12 points?

Trouble is, they’re no longer members of the EFL so can’t be punished by them.  The clubs breach FFP in the year they get promoted then submit accounts already being in the PL and the EFL are powerless.   If we’d have gone up in 15/16 we’d have been fine too.  It’s a problem when you have having two organisations running the game.

Aah but it's a little known fact that the EFL work on "Venus time"
Venus rotates much more slowly than Earth does, so a day on Venus is much longer than a day on Earth. A day on Venus lasts for 243 Earth days or 5,832 hours
    I blame Brexit

I've got to the stage now where I'm not really following much of the EFL punishment news anymore. We all know how farcical this has become. I want to get this mess over and done with and I think the prospective new owner has the same mindset, accept the negative points and lets build a solid plan over the next six to eight months.
If Rooney wants to commit beyond the season then I'm more than happy, if not I fully understand. He's worked as hard as he can to stop this becoming even more of an embarrassment to the club and the supporters. League One is harder than what I think people realise, Ipswich and Sunderland haven't exactly had swift return up the league. Once the takeover is complete, the time being spent planning next season will give us an advantage.
I'm tired of it, I dont want to see Nixon keep tweeting about us, spoon feeding drivel to make supporters feel worse. Take the nine point hit, rebuild.

I agree Angie. Van Der Moodhoover is spot on with his assessment of EFL. But they are bullies,  totally abusing their power. How does anyone respond to that? Stand up to them and risk just antagonising them as Morris was accused of doing. Or maintain dignified silence? Either way I think  the result is the same. EFL just do what they want and get away with it. I sincerely hope that all regulatory powers are removed from them and vile characters like Parry and Ridsdale are sacked off. But  it will be too late for Derby.

Bradley was underwhelming I suppose, but I still remember two things .. a wonderful looping pass to Chris Martin which was then headed in, you saw them see each other, devise a plan and it turned in to a goal all in the blink of an eye. Then against United in the cup, at OT when he played like a man possessed. Paid daft wages and daft transfer fee for an ok player, but curiously I remember him fondly, he had a certain character

I am just trying to keep up to date -
we have not been charged with any F&P or have I missed it?
we have an appeal against administration 12 point deduction - which I still believe we have an excellent chance of winning ( probably why EFL don’t want it heard)
MM indicated that using the perceived EFL amortisation method that we were about £4 million overspent
    is this still all correct?

from my point of view I do not want anymore of the EFL cloak and daggers - follow the actual rules ! - charge us - have the cases heard and let everyone see the accusations and arguments - and give us any punishment in full with full reasons.
if we are to be relegated so be it but we should be playing to our agenda

Has Nixon put this article on his Twitter feed as I couldn’t find it earlier? If not then speaks volumes, as it avoids fans like us then questioning what information and facts he has, such as what is the level of financial breach?! Is it more than £4m which is the only number in the public domain courtesy of Mel’s interview with Radio Derby. Fact is he doesn’t know.
This is simply someone from the EFL or the other clubs leaking something to their advantage with no facts behind it. The EFL may push for -17 but on what grounds other than you’re Derby County and we don’t like you - to be honest that logic will probably work for the EFL.
Until we know to the pound and pence what the financial breach is no one can say should be 4 points, 9 points, 17 points etc, we will probably never know which suits the EFL as they continue to paint us as the biggest cheats in the history of football when nothing could be further from the truth.

    This is just conjecture.
In the same way that if we'd gone to appeal we'd have been pushing for no points deduction. The appeal was to be decided by an independent commission, just like when we ended up with £100k fine.

Our pr has been appalling throughout this whole business and we've let the EFL completely dictate the narrative.
I can't for the life of me work out what the EFL is for....
    - it doesn't write good, clear rules
    - it doesn't police its rules effectively and reasonably
    - it doesn't negotiate good deals on behalf of its members
    - it doesn't prevent bad things happening to clubs
    - it doesn't appear unbiased and puts out shockingly worded and insinuating statements
It's disgraceful really. It seems to be nothing more than a clique of has-beens in thrall to vested lobby groups.
The fact that we were represented in one of these and completely failed to move the agenda to our advantage is merely the latest example of rubbish performance by our people. No surprise there then.... ?

Whether it’s  9 points or 17 points, the extra 8 is largely irrelevant. It just takes us from a 1% chance of survival to 0%.

the only way the admins should/would have agreed to it is if the EFL were pushing to have points knocked off next season as well. They’d have claimed Derby were acting maliciously and so deserve the extra punishment. The admins wouldn’t want to risk that so gave in.

Pathetic again from Nixon. -9 or -90 it makes no difference as we’d still be down so why reluctantly accept -9 instead of -17 the outcome is the same.

But the appeal was about the Admin punishment of 12 points wasn't it? Absolutely nothing to do with FFP for which, bizarrely, as far as I know we have not been charged with anything yet. Any chance of some transparency?
It seems the EFL, are desperate to see us relegated, rather than simply applying their own rules even handedly.

Parachute payments last for 3 years - not just one. The last 3 seasons have seen at least 2 parachute teams get promoted and this year will almost certainly be the same.
    20-21 - watford and norwich
    19-20 fulham and west brom
    18-19 villa and norwich
We've also lost our last 4 playoff campaigns to parachute teams as far as i can see.
Parachute payments and their higher allowable losses create a huge advantage for these teams.

A good read that was Reg, But not for those who believe in Fairy Tales, Football for me lost it's Soul years ago, I can't put a date/time on it, The passion I had for football has got me into bother with Away fans, Home fans, Family, The Law, The Courts, All because of a team called Derby County, They could have been aliens from another planet who ate their children and i've still walked on broken glass barefooted to watch them.
Football is a Corrupt Sport, FIFA, UEFA, CONCACAF and others are even today in it for the Money, Fans like B4 who posts on here, He and his Dad go home and away, Spend their hard earned, Are treated when going away as an inconvenience, He's where I and many many 1000s were back in the day.
In todays World of Football...it's run by those who have NO! affinity to the club they own, Players who cheat, Refs who are incompetent have taken the game to another World, Yesterday England Vs Albania...2mins of injury time in the 1st half, When there were 4 stopages from Albanian players going down injuered amounting to close on 8mins, The fans are still being cheated, The price fans pay for this division is £30+ for an away game...and people still pay it...and fare play to them.
Sorry for the rant all unfortunately it's the World we live in...driven by £££££££££££££££££££££.

The other thing is that parachute runs parallel with P+S .. so 8 teams get this helping hand whilst the others can’t even gamble without being hit. It’s counter intuitive.
He’s got a sword, you’ve got a pointed stick. You try and buy a sword and “they” say you can’t have one, you tried to use one anyway, so they take  your pointed stick from you and giving you a chocolate teapot.
