If a player of Alan’s skill was at our number 11 today we’d be flirting with automatic promotion this season!

Kathcairns reacted to Oldben in EFL actually want Derby to work and be sustainable
Blackstone Chambers article "The Perilous State Of EFL Club Finances: A Review Of The Derby County And Sheffield Wednesday Cases", provides an excellent review of the vexations of the efl.
It reviews what's wrong with the efl but it misses the unfairness of the parachute payments for the clubs relegated from the Premier league.
That relegated clubs can spend what they want to be promoted again.

Kathcairns reacted to therealhantsram in EFL actually want Derby to work and be sustainable
Actions speak louder than words and the EFL have shown in recent years that they don't give a damn if club goes under.

Just in case any Forest fan reading this post - if your counting on one hand, you will have 1 finger left over.

Maybe the EFL should focus on creating a level playing field Championship..not a stacked love-in for parachute payments clubs..

I don't actually agree with this, having worked for charities my whole career.
Many societies are set up to speak on behalf of a wider community than their actual membership, from political parties down.
The whole point of a democratic vehicle is to allow access to as many members as want to be involved, that way the organisation acheives as much democracy as it can. As it grows it can then do more to reach out to wider and wider groups of people.
I think Punjabi Rams have a structure and elections, I know the local supporters clubs do. I suspect most of the other "representative" groups don't, I know for example that this was a role thrust upon our Forum that @David felt very uncomfortable with. And as for the democracy of letting a man with a flag "represent" supporters! Sure Nick didn't ask for that, either.
I cannot for the life of me understand why supporters want to pour scorn over the one organisation whose very existence is set up to be the very thing that they all want - a voice in how the club is run.
I'm with @Simmo’s left foot, if more of us had got off our backsides earlier, then we might have been a force to be reckoned with when we were needed. But we aren't - yet.
I have joined because I want to change that. What are you doing about it?

I thought Simon Jordan was very rude; he kept interrupting Andrew Hoskins.

Well, we. have all been calling for the ticket office to open properly, and now it is open for us to collect our tickets, we start complaining we have to go and get them ? At least we are moving forward it seems !

Kathcairns reacted to Carnero in Tickets on sale
People moan about every bloody announcement don't they.
We've got 3 weeks to collect, there's no need to rush all at once, and anyone outside the area can collect on Saturday or on the day of the Bournemouth game. What's their issue?!
I highly doubt there's many season ticket holders who live outside the area and aren't planning on coming to any home games all season ?

Kathcairns reacted to angieram in RamsTrust
Hello Jim, I am the Moderator that is being referred to in the thread. There are also a few DCFC fans members who have joined recently and who may wish to say who they are - or not!
I have been posting your public updates on a thread, as well as the link showing how to join, @WestLondonRam so not sure how you missed that. It was very simple to join, sets you back the princely sum of £2.
I asked @David if I could post Rams Trust updates and he warned me at the time I would get some flack for it. He was right!
It's early days for me, but I will repeat what I said in the other thread, that I have found Rams Trust welcoming, and far from being a closed shop, is actively encouraging more fans to get involved.
I think people get a bit too concerned about Rams Trust being the only official supporters Trust. That is a fact, it has a constitution, it is registered with the Football Supporters Association, it has clear aims and objectives. For this reason it is understandable that they are often approached through official channels. However, Derby County themselves have always recognised that there are a number of ways that supporters views need to be heard and their Suppirters Charter recognises this and includes a range of representatives, both official groups and a few key individuals.

I don’t think anyone handled the Morris situation well, including reps from this forum. It was a mess unfortunately, mostly caused by Morris and those at the club.
RamsTrust seem to be unfairly lambasted for putting things forward to the club and being wholly representative of all fans opinions. You’ll never get 30,000 plus all having the same view. The point that others have of ‘I don’t think that so why are they saying that to the club’ winds me up.
I do think that RamsTrust should have a wider presence on social media and here. Showcasing the work that they are doing so there presence is larger. Many don’t have a clue what they do, me included. The 1884 group, Rams Protest Group etc all were more active. Considering this forum is viewed by many, things like this are a good start.

Not really mitigation for the recent bad behaviour of away supporters. Just my opinion.

Kathcairns reacted to jono in Wycombe Consider Legal action (again)
The decision over relegation and points deductions are all made by the governing body .. that is the EFL.
Derby County have no influence or say in who gets relegated or not. We just play football in a competition managed by others.
If Wycombe have a case it has to be against the EFL
Its just noise as far as we are concerned.
-
Kathcairns reacted to angieram in Wycombe Consider Legal action (again)
Agree. How embarrassing that Middlesbrough and Wycombe have to be mentioned alongside the EFL and HMRC by the administrators in the legal context of our situation.
I wouldn't want to be supporting a football club that is trying to put another one out of business.

The thing that interests me is when it’s all done and dusted what can we actually do within P and S. No matter who we get, this league is handicapped. I say that because it isn’t a level playing field while parachute payments exist. You can’t buy the league because relegated clubs have booked most of the seats at the top. And if you try and push in, you get penalised
ok so we are allowed to lose 39 million over 3 years. I seriously doubt that any even mildly ambitious none parachute club can actually make much profit and owners can’t inject capital at will
At our best we had an income of 30 million PA Then we can be subbed 13 million PA ..(assuming generous owner) so total dosh technically available maxes out at 43 million
Can we run the club on that ? . Not a penny more .. ever !
So … what are the costs of running a new lean mean DCFC ? Including transfer budget.
15 players at 500 k PA = 7.5 million
20 players at 250 k PA = 5.0 million
Other staff dunno .. let’s say 1.5 million
Rent = let’s say 3% of Mels 80 million = 2.5 million
That’s 16 million ish .. now there’s a factor you could add for all other costs .. energy, bus rates, policing, maintenance, professional services, it’s difficult to guess because wages are so top heavy in football but I can’t help feeling it’s going to be close to double the wages and venue costs
My conclusion is that post Covid wages and transfer fees will be more manageable .. If we get the right sponsorship deals, a generous owner and crowds return to normal then we could be sustainable and maybe be able to sign a decent player or 2 each year.

I’m not so sure that multiple bids are necessarily in DCFC's (and our) best interests for a couple of reasons. Firstly more complicated negotiations potentially slow the process down - and the different bids will inevitably have different benefits for different creditors. And, secondly, multiple bids will drive the price up (in theory). That means possibly less money for the successful candidate to spend on the club after their success
The downside of limited (one) numbers of bidders is that it only takes the person to drop out for us to be in a real mess.

Sheffield Wed were given a points deduction which was carried over to the next season, which would have sent them down and not Charlton, who said they were taking Sheff Wed to court, it did not happen and Charlton went into league one.
EFL will be desperate to avoid and court claims against clubs in their league for surely would be another nail in the EFL coffin, for which the government are not impressed with their running of the league and are wanting change with a regulater taking control.

Tepper is a different animal and is quite honestly a dream owner. He bought the Carolina Panthers in 2018 for $2.3bn and soon after invested even more into sports in Charlotte by expansion in the MLS - a whim that still cost him north of €300m and something that he won't make money back on for a long time, perhaps ever. It's an investment in the growth of the MLS.
He's at the point in his life where he's become a sporting philanthropist - a genuine figure head for the growth of Carolina sports in the States (perhaps the world) and football in America. He could quite comfortably purchase almost any Premier League club and he's shown a desire to be aggressive in his approaches to grow his brand.
Tepper wouldn't be a hands-on owner, but he would pay top dollar to high-end executives who he believed could and there wouldn't be a shortage of people looking to work for him. It would quite honestly be a dream scenario and for that reason I absolutely can't believe that it's even remotely an option.
Kirchner, who has now put himself in the spotlight, is coming off well. As Jordan said, who knows much more about researching business growth than me, the company he has now is ascending to the point where he potentially could be a billionaire in the future. I would guess not know, but it's showing incredible growth in a short amount of time. He seems set up for a long-term investment and has shown the required funds as of now, so perhaps it has the potential to be a good match. He sounds like an intelligent man, something our boardroom has sadly lacked for too many years.

It would be a remarkable achievement from the administrators if we were, even if it's in time for the January window then it would be good work.
I've seen a few Wigan related discussions on Twitter in connection to our recent news, and they're somewhat inquisitive, annoyed and dismissive about how we would be able to exit administration so quickly.
Wigan were in administration for 9 months, and their administrators were apparently struggling to sell them for £3mil. That spanned two transfer windows and some of the players they lost for below their true value included Gelhardt, Devine, Weir, Marshall, Byrne, Lowe and Kipre.
It's incredibly refreshing to know that we still seem to be an extremely attractive purchase for multiple people, and can avoid a lot of the damage Wigan had to suffer.

Yeah, this stood out for me too and I'll admit got me a bit excited we could see a start to the end of two years of stress and b/s really soon. Hoskins will be playing a bit of a clever game too with those comments to chivy up the other serious bidders so they get up to speed with where Kerchner appears to be.

Kathcairns reacted to Crewton in Alan Nixon Breaks Silence on American Billionaire Bid
I hope whoever takes over (assuming someone does) has the chops to call Middlesbrough and Wycombe's bluff. Their claims are both opportunistic and delivered to the wrong party. I'm fairly sure they would fall apart in a civil court, which is the only place they could be heard because EFL rules don't allow clubs to sue each other through the disciplinary processes of the EFL. I'm also fairly sure, despite the absence of any comment, that the EFL would dread a member successfully suing another member for allegedly being the sole cause of their own failures.
What Boro and Wycombe are hoping is that the Administrators put their claims in with the Football Creditors list, but expecting they'll be put on the unsecured creditors list and thereby receive at least 35p in the £ for their claim, though I don't see how either could happen without the claimants first proving their claim was valid through either the EFL or the Courts.

It's hardly the crime of the century. His time spent actually managing the side has been nothing but professional and the togetherness with this squad is testament to that.

Not unless they're planning to penalise Boro, Leeds, Rotherham, Barnsley and Wycombe's owners for what they've all said/alleged about Derby in the past. Which they aren't.

Would hoskins be tempted to stay on in a financial role? Lots of "we" talk. Role to stay on and keep our financial matters on a sound footing?
