Thought he looked pretty lively when he came on against Charlton. More a trusty steed though than a mason mount

And this is precisely why I always finish in the Gregg's Division 9 in the prediction league.

Oduroh ...struggled for confidence. Looks erratic says JW. Nerves affecting him. I expect this guy to come on in leaps and bounds this year once he gets the first game out of the way.

From TalkSport a lovely cross by Sibley for Dobbin who they expected to score but missed his kick and it seemed to hit Jason Knight and go in. But other than that they're very impressed by Dobbin. 0-1, Derby lead!

Can't see us winning this game.
When do we ever win a midweek cup game away from home against lower league opposition?
Add to that we rarely do well against former managers.
Add to that we will ring in the changes.
Add to that their stadium is on the site of an Indian burial ground (unconfirmed)
It has a 2-0 defeat written all over it. An early goal for them, total possession dominance with some glaring profligacy in front of goal from us and then a late goal on the break to a stream of abuse from an excitable home crowd and a smirk from our Nigel.
Shame it's not in the prediction league as we could get points for this one...

Would be interesting to give that back 4 an outing and I don’t think Nigel would mind. Cashin would miss Curtis. The route A outlet last season to Fozzy pushing forward was productive when faced with a press and perhaps Dobbin and Collins could capitalise. I would rest NML. Brave to go without Bird but he might be needed if a transfer is close for JK.
I think we might see something like you suggest at the start. But that we’ll finish more as we did on Saturday.
don’t think we’ll learn much from this but if Collins bags a brace that’s a big bonus

Reckon this is the game where dobbin will get the bit between his teeth

That he’s at right back right now makes sense - he’s on the market and LR probably wants to get the midfield working with players who are staying around.
If we get a half decent price for JK his fee should fund 3 or 4 new players for the season. if we don’t sell I guess where he plays will depend on who else comes in - we know he gives 100% wherever he’s played

We still have no owner if you exclude David Clowes.

But why is that a bad corner routine? At least it’s different. We’ve not seen anything different in a set piece routine since shay given left. Total lack of imagination and creativity. The oppo look at the tape from the last 5 games and know what to expect.
If today is anything to go by we’ll see a lot of parked buses this season and the plan will be to hit us on the break. We need to find novel options from set pieces

We looked in a different class for most of the match. There were some worrying moments in defence where positional play was poor - and Cashin and Curtis made some very sloppy errors (again). The combination of long ball and play-it-out is potent if we do it well and Wildsmith looks like a handy quarter back. Midfield is still not working. Bird came to life when Sibley came on and I don’t think that was a coincidence. Collins needs a goal

Don't be down, we were really good. We look like a strong League One team. We were heading for Div 2 or worse a couple of months back.

I've said before in a previous post, we are in need of pacey wing backs. Teams are going to regularly park the bus and we need that extra man to overlap and allow our wingers to come inside. Other than that, I watched us today and even tho we lost, I thought "we're gonna win the league" and I assure you we will, once we do the above and get atleast 1 pacey wing back in ?
