That’s my thinking. The club has press officers (or staff in a similar role) who brief the staff and the media on what can and can’t be discussed. If I remember rightly, during Warne’s pre season interview he checked with someone off camera what he could and couldn’t say about signings. 
I know lots don’t like Warne’s manner/demeanour/personality or whatever, I just don’t see these comments today as being as flippant or risky as some are suggesting. The questions will probably have been pre-planned and what Warne could say vetted by the press team to a point.

Not surprising, just want it done asap so we can reallocate funds.

Well only Bristol have been linked that was weeks ago and he has since been pictured smiling in training so would it be best to assume he staying and build the rest of the team 

we hardly need managers from Poland or even Ireland to tell us that the third tier is not suitable preparation for top international games

really hate this merry-go-round of players. Wouldn't mind it so much if we were going up in the world but being stuck in the third tier (the third tier) is not a strong place to sell the club from.  Those who said 2 seasons in div 1 might be good for us were fools.
(Think I might have said it actually but only once and without focusing on the inevitable exodus of talent after the failure to bounce straight back up)

well it’s quite a message, even to someone with Jason’s spirit and determination: “ go out there are run until you feel nauseous,  then run some more and faster.  oh and don’t be dispirited by - week in week out - being along side senior players who are paid more, who tell you what to do and who don’t deliver anywhere near the % of effort you are cranking out. PS and you’ll be playing out of position. 
And even then we got a decent season out of him. Good luck Jason you’ve been massive 

yes    perhaps the consolation is:  if we go up it should be relatively easy to sell to other div 1 sides the players we need to replace.  And against Championship metrics the £numbers involved won’t be enormous 

of course. but he cant be asked to play in this division. And we can’t afford him. Let’s take the cash, use it wisely and hope he continues to strengthen. Loved him at PP at his best
