Wazza’s haircut is.
“But there could be hope on the horizon for Derby with Morris in discussions with a US group who have experience in sport”.
I hope it not croquet, although it may up our tempo.

I heard it was James Garbage, Gary Refuse and Nick Recycling.

At one end of the spectrum - Gibson and others who are vindictive and will fight for a points deduction
at the other: clubs who have little beef with us who would be happier for us to pay the large legal costs and a fine.
there’s a range and we can certainly influence the outcome by being conciliatory. And you would surely expect a new owner to do this

It’s not a beef it is ensuring there is one less competitive team in the league. I can’t see why any f them would prefer money rather than points

Well if the efl were not happy with our accounts they should not signed them off in the first place the only kicked off was boro and there owner for me if I was in charge of the efl I be asking to see theres as well.
And if I was mel I be showing this to efl and other clubs to show we did nrothing wrong.

I still say that mel should fight and If we have to take them to court and get what ever over turned and they signed it off and we have that in writing I still think that efl is doing is wrong and can not be allowed to get away with it.

Ah ok I see your point. I think the journalists who have said change of ownership could reduce sanction assume MM’s relationship w the regulator has broken down. I agree that MM can also improve the position. If he rolls over, shows his tummy submissively to Mr Parry and agrees to pay all EFL costs, I guess he may be able to stop them arguing for a points deduction. But easier for a new owner to do - ‘Clean sweep of the brush’ etc

Most sensible post I’ve seen on this topic, thanks.
Also worth mentioning this: this idea of selling to X when Y secretly provides the cash is not the way forward. Y probably controls but has not been EFl approved. No one knows where the money has come from. There is potential for a major train wreck and it’s hard to make someone sell a club
i don’t think MM has got this right in this process and the club has paid a high price

Agreed. I’d take Andy Appleby’s offer to help find a suitable buyer. He has the expertise, knowledge and contacts. Also experience of the competitive and regulatory environment of the English Championship. Plus an affection for DCFC. I’d put a lot of trust in any potential solution he put together.

Came out to do or say what? A song and dance routine? Hamlet's soliloquy? (alas poor Bloomer, I knew him well.)
You've been asked several times now, what specifically do you want them to say? or what would you have us supporters do?

Optimistic - this is mostly Tom Glick's fault. He was the main driver behind FFP.

I bet this will have been mentioned a number of times but I’ll state the obvious.
MM wants to sell the club but under the current climate the club is not a good investment. Even if there was no pandemic the club isn’t a good investment but it is better with match day income.
I’m not even sure I would want to buy it even if I won the Euromillions record jackpot. If fans were allowed back in and things returned to near normal then it would be easier to take on. I don’t think people are giving MM the credit he deserves by keeping the club afloat.

Seems unfair. It’s public knowledge that he’s failed with two sales, he still wants to sell and that he will continue to fund the club until he does. That about sums it up surely. What else do you think should be disclosed ?

Mel seems trapped. He wants to stop the cash drain. His loyalties mean he can’t contemplate administration. But with Covid variants now threatening next season’s revenues, it must be incredibly hard to agree a sale price. Any sensible purchaser would just drag their feet as he continues to pour cash into the abyss.

HMRC are responsible for:
Income Tax, Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, Insurance Premium Tax, Stamp, Land and Petroleum Revenue Taxes
Environmental taxes
climate change and aggregates levy and landfill tax
Value Added Tax (VAT), including import VAT
Customs duty
Excise duties
National Insurance
Tax Credits
Child Benefit
Please don’t put this on Twitter, but my understanding is that we still owe duty on the importation of Albentosa, Camara and Jozwiak, and are massively in arrears on child benefit payments for Knight, Sibley, Buchanan and Bird. The biggest debt to HMRC though falls under the Climate Change Levy where Mel Morris has incurred the club significant fees for the over production of worthless hot air.

Yep best way to hit the big time is owners who bring an international fan base and masses more sponsorship than we have. That’s why the Derventio deal was exciting. It’s not clear folks on here want that! Much harder for a US group to transform us but (Glick was at city) they could put us into an international network of clubs. It’s anyone’s guess what that would mean. Any road up, with a strong US group we’d have stability at last and if it involves Glick he may be smart enough to achieve what MM did not with less cash. But if it’s a US group foolish enough to have Rooney as ‘their man’ at Derby, then prepare for the fan protests in about a year’s time. That’s what it will take to oust the feller
