Harry Wilson for the one at Leeds.
And talking of pressure penalties.... Waggy, of all people, last game of last season.
Charlie George's penalties always seemed to go in.
Gladys Hinton's record will always be tarnished by the one against Juventus.
Vague memories of Steve Buckley hammering them in.

Some chat in the Tom Lawrence thread about pennos and Tom's 'panenka', started me thinking about penno takers.
Gerry Daly was pretty consistent and Deano hit em very well. Can't really remember Hinton's tbh. Read a stat from some German analyst about high and wide were the most likely to be scored. Deano's fit that Bill.
But for me, Alan Biley. Straight down the middle about 6 inches under the bar. Loved his pennos. Best for me, just loved the way he 'wacked em'.
And an honourable mention to Nathan Ellington as my second fav, the first time I'd seen anyone wait for the keeper and then pea roll it into the other corner. Stoke away in the QF of the league Cup was awesome- never looked nervous and I never thought he was going to miss- utter confidence.

I’ve never lived in Derby or Derbyshire.
My step dad was a Derby  fan and as my brother once put it, it was support Derby or you’re homeless.
Forst game I saw was away at Portsmouth. We lost 3/1, with John Gregory scoring our goal. But I was hooked from the moment everyone around me jumped in the air and I couldn’t see a thing and hadn’t a clue what had happened!!
My step dads mum (my “Nanar”) lived in Ilkeston and I have many memories of nights in the gallows inn and walks around the rec and charnos with the dogs and of course many visits to the BBG and pride park as I was growing up.

Started life in Alfreton, moved a great distance to Swanwick when 11.
Left the county at 18, never to return except  to see the Rams (and my family and friends of course ?)
Dad took me to first match at the BBG in 1968 when I was 9. Always a RAM ever since. Despite school mates supporting Notts F, Manu and Liverpool at the time.

I was born in Holbrook, in the Maternity Hospital (now known as Brook House). Left Derby in 1972 to join the Royal Navy and have been living in Plymouth since the early 80's when I married a Devon beauty. Still have sisters, a brother, cousins and an Aunt in Derby. Go up regular for visits of family and matches.

Born in Derby, lived there for about 8 years. Next door neighbor refused to let me grow up a man UTD fan when I started to get into football, and took me to reserve games midweek in the winter. Remember vividly pride park opening and going with the cub scouts  to the opening ceremony
Live in Devon now and go back to Derby as little as possible, but usually catch a game if we have to go up for any reason

Add 3 centre halves, a playmaker, 2 wide men, a centre forward and of course a decent manager then I would agree with you. If not nope, we are miles off a decent team, or any team at all judging by the current playing staff available.

    This is straight forward,
If Mel puts the company into administration and he is the only who can do it as he is covering all expenditure at the moment and hence the club is a going concern.
All the property and fixed  assets will be sold or the value realised of the intangible assets (players) by an administrator who would be an insolvency practitioner appointed by the court. Mel would have no say where the assets were sold and for how much and if he was an unsecured creditor for his company loans would lose everything, also MSD are preferential creditors with two separate charges over the stadium all assets and the academy, they have a negative pledge on both charges which essentially means that Mel cannot do anything without their approval including a sale to another party, and neither could the administrator.
Also HMRC is now a secondary preferred creditor (from 1/12/20) so that debt would not disappear and neither would any football related debts which if not paid in full would stop the Rams from rejoining the football league again, and finally all debts would be as follows; Clubs are required to pay Football Creditors in full. Other creditors must be paid 25p in the pound on exit or 35p in pound over a 3 year period. The cherry on the cake would bee the points deduction of 10-12 points, plus the need to prove the club had sufficient cash to carry them through I believe 18 months trading, so to sum up if Mel put the club into administration, he would lose everything the club would have no players, no academy and no stadium and no meaningful reduction in debt.
If Mel was to liquidate with MSD approval he would realise part of his loans and control the process, my guess is that he will kick to touch and see if the takeover/additional investment happens and then decide, he is paying wages and bills at the moment, the only thing he is not doing is buying in players, because he cannot due to the EFL

Just on this, the director’s will legally need to decide if DCFC is a “going concern” in order for them to submit their account and the auditors have a duty to ensure they are happy with this.
Often in these circumstances the auditors will need a letter from the shareholders (in this case probably Mel) that they are prepared to continue pay the bills. If the auditors are not given these reassurances then they will not be able to submit accounts on a “going concern” basis and that would cause all kinds of difficulties.
So Mel will have to make the decision to continue to finance the club pretty quickly otherwise administration beckons (assuming as I’m led to believe that there is no hope of a takeover on the short term).
(FWIW, I’m a qualified accountant and therefore “in the know” about the above at least)
My bet is that none of this will happen until after the season starts and we will start the season with only four more questionable signings, alongside the current squad.
…. and I’m sure I’ll get comments saying that I’m not in the know on this point (which is getting more and more common from forum members). So to be clear again, I’m not “in the know”, I’m speculating.

Just speculating. Not “in the know”. Hope that’s clear.

The plan is simple - Mel to sell, EFL to cease the witch hunt, Derby to start fresh. Trouble is we're not in control of the decisions so our only choice seems to be to sit back and watch it happen to us. Not much of the 'hope for the best, plan for the worst' seems to be going on.
