Warne did say in that interview yesterday he was hoping to get one striker done before the pre-season trip. The questions in that interview were all about strikers joining and Knight’s future, so there’s still the potential for defensive players to be announced too. Perhaps that additional centre back and wing back will appear.

Not long turned 25. So 5 years younger than May. 13 goals last season and 15 the season before both in League One with a poor side.
Only 25 so scope to improve and a pretty good scoring record. Would imagine he could get similar amount of goals if not more here.
I would imagine if he will have a lot of interest though.

Of all the players suggested, Sam Nombe ticks the most boxes for what would be the ideal signing. Not sure what sort of fee Exeter would be expecting though, I guess any reasonable offer would have to wait until Knight is sold.

Nelson, Bradley and Cashin would be one hell of a defensive setup for L1.

Bolton are apparently trying to sign Josh Maja as he wants to come back to England, if that’s true and he’s willing to play in league one we should be all over that.
 
16 goals in 37 games last year in French second division. Scored a few goals for Fulham in the prem in 2021 on loan. Also scored 15 Goals in 24 games in league one when he was just 20 years old in the 18/19 season.
 
He’s also a free transfer as he refused a contract extension with Bordeaux.

I'd say a 1 in 3 strike rate at any level in the EFL is enough to show potential (and Toney did around that in 3 of his last 4 loan spells). Harris has 10 over 3 seasons which is pretty dire.
Going on that basis, I'd be asking about Luke Armstrong from Harrogate... 26... just under 1 in 3 in a side that's struggled since getting out of non-league.

If we could somehow convince Axel Tuanzebe to sign on a free now he's been released by Man Utd, that'd be a proper statement signing. Probably unrealistic as I suspect at least a Championship club will take a punt on him though.
