  1. For those of you who use it, I think you’ll all mostly agree the new format of it is dreadful, especially how they have removed the “show scorers” button.

Does anyone else have a good app where you can see all the scorers and scorers on the same page for all games?

Is Ashley Barnes out of contract ?.  He'd do a good job for a year if so.  Works like a trojan and is worth 10 goals.

Callum O' Hare out of contract.  He was excellent prior to his ACL.  Bit of a risk but if he can find similar form, would be a great player.

Spoke to a Cov fan earlier who goes home and away. Says O'Hare is their standout player.

Don't think we stand a chance therefore. We're not big enough or splashing the cash to be shipping around for that kind of player yet.

  3. I expect he will go with the same 11 again.

    I hope he doesn’t.

Why… because we have scorers and decent attacking players who offer more than the players on the pitch. We don’t need to be defensive at home to the bottom of the league.

Take Bradley and Tommo out and put in CBT and Bird.

    4-2-3-1.

He won’t though, we’ll still play five defender and three centre mids.

Nelson made a very shaky start from memory but has been immense the last 3 quarters of the season.

I had him down at fault for the Portsmouth first goal.

Cashin same for me, a dodgy start but, as he forged a partnership with Nelson, has been excellent.

However, I do think back to Lincoln where Cashin has his pants round his ankles for most of the game.

Wildsmiths form has been up and down but he has more than played his part, especially considering that he saved his best performance of the season for Bolton at home.

Lincoln away - you're right on that being Cash worst - the pace of their striker that day had Cash on a platter. Good job their striker couldn't hit a barn door once he'd beaten him.

Agree the save against Bolton was immense - probably the best save of the season and delivered in the most crucial game of the season.

Can't it be a testament to all three of them? A testament to the whole defence, in fact the whole team including Wildsmith.

It can be - but I think Nelson and Cashin have been better performers in their positions than I think Wildsmith has in his. I might be wrong but I don’t believe Nelson has made a single error leading to an opposition goal this year and Cashin maybe similar.

Im happy if he’s my GK next season, I won’t lose sleep if he isn’t.

That's right, they sell less than capacity, let folks sit where they want, then herd the latecomers into the two end blocks of the stands.

So infuriating for @DarkFruitsRam7and others stood outside.

Ironically, the seat spaces are quite generous compared to some grounds we've been to this season.

Seems very strange unless it’s a police decision given that the entrance to that bit of the ground is across one 2 metre wide narrow bridge.

If there is no safety reason then it’s weird, because that’s losing Cambridge maybe 100k of revenue a year. Anyway - we don’t have that problem next season!!!

  7. So what was weird today, I went to back row, directly behind goal (my actual seat was back row, 20 seats along but didn’t try to use it), and the two seats next to me remained empty. It also felt like around us there were a few empty seats as well.

So the mad rush I was expecting pre kick off due to in allocated seating didn’t materialise. It almost felt as if that stand could sit 1800/2000 but they only sell less.

    Really strange, but wasn’t unhappy!

Paul Warne deserves credit for getting us promoted. Doesn’t really matter how, his goal was to get us promoted and he has achieved.

But he will need help this summer. This current side under Warne finishes bottom three next season.

If we stick with Warne, he will need seven or eight new signings to give us a chance.

I think new players is a given.

What will need to change and he needs to adapt is a better style of play. We had less possession today than Cambridge, a team which had 36% possession against Bristol Rovers in their previous game.

If we adapt the playing style of this season, even with slightly better players, then we won’t progress and next season will be a struggle.

His form has been abit up & down at times this season but as it stands he has the joint hightest number of clean sheets in the league, he is joint with Jensen for Lincoln but Wildsmith has played 5 less games.

So a clean sheet vs Carlisle (or Jensen conceding for Lincoln) will mean Wildsmith gets the golden glove this season which is a very good achievement for him & us.

This is a testament to Nelson and Cash for me.

We still need to work on a lot of things but 100% agree on throw ins - we are rubbish. Other teams don’t seem to have a problem but invariably we lose the ball, either through a bad throw which the recipient can’t control easily, a poor return to the thrower or lack of options to throw the ball to. Don’t see it should be too difficult and Warne has mentioned it several times.

prefer to score from a set piece than get a throw in right. Can’t e have both?

Also I can’t remember too many goals scored from a direct free kick. Bird springs to mind but can’t recall any others. You would think with Hourihane and Ward we would get a few more.

Yep - only 1 free kick scored directly all season (Bird). So everything else is goals from corners or set pieces. Makes the stat more remarkable.

Only if you want to stick rigidly to a 352, which Warne hasn't. CBT would fit into a 343, 442 or 424 depending on the opposition. Playing 4 at the back relies on more solid fullbacks, but unfortunately Nyambe, Fozzy and Elder are all out injured. The addition of Thommo in midfield worked well, but if it didn't, Warne could have changed it with the personnel on the bench.

Perhaps he could have brought CBT on as a sub towards the end, but maybe Barks benefitted a bit more, coming back from injury.

I don’t think a player such as CBT signs without an assurance of where he fits into the team. I don’t think we should waste 10k a week on a player who doesn’t play.
