Goodness knows what you lot are on about. For those of us growing up in the 80s and 90s we weren't taught grammar at school. All sounds like nonsense!

Surely we have to be favourites, even if he may have lower Championship offers.  He’s trained with us for about 2 weeks and played a part in 3 friendlies, 4 if he was involved against Huddersfield.  Would be decent at this level.  Hard worker, good at set pieces, flexibility to play as a 9 or 10 (but mostly a 10) and would chip in with goals.

I want him back purely for the romance of it. Rather have Waghorn here, a player who clearly loves us and wants to be here, than someone like Billy Sharp who hates us.

To be fair, those fans who relish negativity and pessimism must have a much better time as a Derby fan.

Have said it before but Benik Afobe, similar age to Wickham, is on a free. Better scoring record too and was training at Arsenal a couple weeks back. Perhaps he wants a Championship move but surely worth a look (and perhaps we've already taken a look).

Thought the big man deserved his own thread for his game and not just have it crambed in amongst all the other meaningless pre season fixtures.
10 years is incredible in this day an age, two horrible injuries and when u think, “ thats fozzy done - thinking that sheff wednesday game when he had a pig of a game… he bounce's back better than ever.
Will always be remembered fondly but “that” season under mac mk1 he was absolutely sublime. His first time low crosses were an absolute thing of beauty and is half the reason chrissy martin got as many as he did. He must have been a centre forwards dream to play with

Yes . I think I posted what I thought was needed but in retrospect after listening to others on here I realise I’m wrong.  Let’s face it we have only just come out of administration thanks to David Clowes.

PS Paul Warne is obviously doing his best and I know he knows what he’s doing.

but i think its only fair we are allowed to voice our concerns. i am not comparing the situations in a million years but we were told to keep the faith with mel. sometimes faith isnt rewarded, we all hope it is with warne but there are a few warning signs that things arent going to plan. 

And you are worried about what many of us are worried about, lack of a goal scorer and injuries to a small squad.

Just to clarify.  In Paul Warne I trust .
Difficult to discuss anything on here now without getting bollocked .
I love Derby and I want them to do well.

Hope you’re not getting too anxious @Curtains there’ll be al sorts going on behind closed doors. Keep the faith. We are definitely looking better by the signing and I believe there’s a little surprise or two in store for us in the coming weeks up front.

Warne has talked about making more signings, I haven't heard him say he's happy with what he has, this is it.
Chances are Warne agrees with you, that doesn't make signing one any easier or quicker.
The reason we have been signing defensive players is, 1) we needed them and 2) they were freebies which are easier and quicker to do deals with.....saying that, even those were not quick enough.
Actual goal scorers will need negotiating fees for, hence why it will take longer to complete.
Ideal world, yes we have a complete squad ready at the start of pre season, I would say that is pretty rare though. 
1 game down, still plenty of time to join and integrate into the squad.
tl;dr it's too early to panic.

Agreed , a prolific goalscorer or our main source of goals is the most important part of the puzzle and you want him up to speed with the players providing him the service etc , yes there's plenty of time to sign someone before the window closes but there's an urgency to getting them accustomed to Warne team and game plan and fitness levels 

I really think we need one
