Rotherham want Sibley, I’d cry if that happened. Cant see any chance of it though.

Best of luck to you Corey and thank you for your service.

It's interesting to see the professionalism and know-how we're giving up. I get what you say about Korey. Smith was a model pro in terms of knowing and trying to do his job, whether it was at right back or in the middle. I think he'd be an excellent acquisition for someone in League One, or at the foot of the Championship.
Hourihane was the guy who would get in the ref's face and fight our corner and win freekicks the way other teams would do against us. And he was so brave fronting up to the fans that day, in a really toxic environment, possibly saving Warne his job. A leader, even when he struggled to make the impact we needed on the pitch.
And I've frequently said Wildsmith's ability to take the sting out of the game served us very well. Part of the modern goalkeeper's toolkit. Whoever comes in needs to have this as well perhaps a little more subtly.
But expertise and game management is something we will need the replacement's we're bringing in to possess.

I know why people dont like ashley, me included! But in terms of how he ran newcastle sustainably, thats how Clowes will and should run Derby! Just hope some fans dont forget what hes done for us after a few seasons and get on his back for not spending big 🫣

I dont see us as mid table! I see it as anything but relegation this first season! Im all for ambition but my worry is this first season will not be pretty, itll be about surviving and building for the following season! Dont want some fans to start booing after a few games because they think we should be mid table and were sitting in the relegation zone 🙈

The last 2 seasons he got promoted, Rotherham made profits on both player sales against purchases and in operating costs. I would expect that this coming season we won't be expecting either.
I would expect the DC will back a small net outlay on players and will cover 'reasonable' losses over the next 12 months, a totally different scenario to what PW has faced previously. How he will cope with this situation is anybody's guess, as he has never been in that situation before.

I watched the Netflix documentary last night about the England Euro final at Wembley, I think half of the fans on Wembley way wouldn’t have known there was a match on by lunchtime, and it was an evening kickoff 😂

I'm shocked I tell ya 😁, A player celebrates on the lash when his club won the EPL then once the ale has kicked in some people get a little excited.
I and others on here may well know people who haven't won owt in their lives but still kick off after a few beers 😮

I was told by more than one person that Carson stopped playing for Derby and eventually left, not for footballing reasons.
If you saw the newspaper article from yesterday about his antics, it kinda gives weight to what I heard too.

Good question and I have no idea. It would be interesting to know, for example, how much Dylan Williams is currently on at Chelsea. He would have been on "pennies" here.
I bet there is also quite a big difference between wages of those on the books of United/Chelsea, and those from the likes of Bournemouth/Fulham.

Assuming we get the signings we need to be competitive, the difference maker would be that striker with a sprinkle of extra class to turn tight games our way.
23 other Championship teams also want him.

Whether you say restricted or not as competitive - I think we can all agree (surely?!) that we have a bigger disadvantage fiscally this season? Last season, even with the EFL restrictions, we had a top two wage budget. This year, we will not have that.
Listening to a pod cast with Kieran Maguire yesterday - he said the average annual wage bill in L1 was £17m, the average is the Champ a staggering £31m. That’s nearly double. And don’t get me started on the average £83k p/w for Prem players. Mind boggling.

Getting to the Prem really will be a minor miracle. Staying possibly an even bigger one.

There is not a cat in hells chance that Preston will be paying £35k to £40k a week.
PNEs total wage bill is £20m with 115 members of staff.
Just a glance through Google and the range of his suggested wages are in the range of £10k to £19k per week.

Intriguingly it seems Trott's been on our radar before (tweet from 2020):
Been in the England U20 and U21 squads, as well as playing youth footy for his native Bermuda. Where he was once in a team called the North Village RAMS! All signs pointing to Derby 🤣🤣🤣

Must be a few.  Possibly time to start saying you can have the money but have to have a legacy of starting on minus points for every X amount of million you take.  If not, Ipswich will be very much the exception.   Bournemouth had a  wage bill of about 71 million and 60 million quid of forwards last time around with a 9k attendance.  It's gone crazy.

FFP means the parachute clubs can have bigger budgets. We are more restricted.
We have a very good owner but not a crazy rich, big spending owner. They will outspend us.
We will probably have a mid table budget. Last year it would seem we had a top 2 budget.
Therefore a top 6 finish is unlikely. Not moaning, it is what is is and I hope we can finish mid table.
