My mate's a hornet through and through and was glad Dennis went.  Called him toxic. Constantly moaned when things went wrong and negative in the dressing room. Sounds perfect for Forest. 

They started with a narrow front 3 in Johnson, MGW and Lingard against Spurs. They looked tidy but toothless.
I guess Awoniyi is the big man up top to hit when things aren’t working. Go direct.
I just don’t get the Dennis signing at all and now Batshuayi. 
It’s evident Cooper has just been handed a bunch of players and will be under pressure to get them firing right away.
If they are bottom three by New Year he will be sacked.

The only way a team goes down with 40 points or more is if the gap between the top teams and the bottom closes.
I think it only happens when the bottom teams take points off the top teams as well as each other.
But I just don’t see it happening. There will be at least two teams who get less than 33 points and I’d be surprised if 18th gets any more than 35.

Neither the poster you were responding to, or others, have referenced social security queues or FA Cup semi final fan-death disasters (RIP The 96* xxx).
It could be argued that it is in fact your post that is embarrassing, as you were the first to reference them.  Nobody else has... or hadn't up to that point.
I personally dislike Liverpool FC fans generally (and historically) purely due to my own personal memories.  In fairness, that dislike also extends to Everton FC fans, for similar reasons, dating back a similar number of years (Yes... late 70's... so over 40 years ago).  (I can only offer a defence of "purely coincidental, that they hail from the same city!)
And yet here I stand, having subsequently retained... for over 33 years now... nothing but sympathy, respect, and a brotherly support for the 96* victims of Hillsborough.  "Fellow Football fans", as I prefer to refer to them as!
Outside of my football related memories, I have found all other civvy "Scousers" to be nothing short of... well... OK, I guess... Just like any other places I have frequented!  Mostly good or better, with a few bad or worse.  

And as for your "being stuck in the past"... None of us can help what we remember, be that direct life-time memories of events that affected us directly, or historic events taught to us by others.  And none of us can control how such memories can affect our thoughts and reactions.  Whatever those reactions, they cannot be fairly described as "embarrassing".   
... And if we really must put a stop to "Being stuck in the past"... as you appear to desire... can you please advise me what to do with all these surplus poppies I appear to have collected over the decades?

I must be in the minority on here, i enjoy the banter at the football.

It's not quite that simple though is it? We have evidence that is beyond deniable that our climate is changing so the simple question that faces us now (and it is not a question, sadly, that you and I can answer) is "knowing all of this, do we want to do anything about it - recognising it will likely impact significantly the way we all live our lives?"
And this is where I do have some sympathy with Extinction Rebellion - as I see it they are trying to shake us up and give us the shock we need to actually do something about it. If we don't then it does look like we will leave a planet behind for our descendants that will struggle to support us all in the way we live today - with all the consequences that will bring. I could get all aloof and snotty and ask if it really worth the extra HD television, skiing holiday, third car for the weekend and other things that many might consider unnecessary given the likely impact. But, as said earlier, we (nearly) all think what we do is necessary - I travel up to see Derby on the train, I will buy a new car in the next couple of years, I leave the lights on sometimes and forget.
Again, either we (the human race) do something about it or we don't - and every evidence suggests that the collective view of humanity today is that the new television is worth it, our kids can figure out the mess, we don't really need polar bears anyway. Extinction Rebellion are simply trying to force the discussion, given that forty years of trying to do it via conventional routes has had pretty much no impact.

Just got back from Asda.
After yesterdays high then low I decided to look at what's available in the football isle
Top shelf.
20 teams who are minted but have too many millionaires who couldn't give a phuk about football only money, Crap officials and VAR.
2nd shelf
24 teams that will spend money at all cost to get to the promised land of the top shelf, Crap officials and poor gamesmanship.
3rd shelf
Real football with honest players who will strive to do their best at all costs, Sat 3pm kick offs are mandatory, Crap officials, Good away days with standing allowed, Ask for a cheese and onion cob and get a cheese and onion flat bap, Or a crusty bun that will break your teeth, Accents that you'll need to have a dialect book to understand what they are saying, Never ask for a fish n mix at the chippy as they will tell you to get the phuk out of my shop, Beer at 33p a pint, Ladies of the night for 1 Park Drive Cigarette and a match, Cheeky kids asking if you want us to look after your car mister for a mars bar, And if you don't like mars bars they give you a crunchie instead, Old couples walking hand in hand to the corner shop to buy a tin of beans and a small loaf in their string bag, Boys and girls playing hopscotch and the Dads playing marbles in the gutter while Mum is on the ladder cleaning the weeds out of the gutters on the roof.
So I decided to stick with Derby County why change 56 years of Madness, I walked out of Asda skipping with joy.
