Agree with Ed re the tyre-kicker, I think we dodged a bullet there.
Really hope Bury bounce back. Would love to play them at some point down the line too.

The covid pandemic has had an adverse effect on many people's mental well-being.
It is only this morning that I realise how much the Rams problems over the last 18 months have also been a massive source of extra anxiety to so many of us, particularly those on this admin thread.
The profound sense of relief this morning is tangible.
Let's forget the cruel taunts of some opponents' "fans" and hope that no other club has to go throughanything similar.
Not even the Club who gleefully posted that picture of a young Rams fan in tears at Wembley!

After a heavy Thursday, I ended up with a horrendous hangover that lasted most of yesterday. We were due to go to a friend's party last night, but I really didn't feel like it. Then, about half an hour before we were due to leave home, the confirmation of the takeover came through and it was the best hangover cure ever. I managed a few sherbets at the party and woke this morning with a clear head and absolutely buzzing for the new season.
It's been great catching up with everyone's posts and I'm going to spend a good part of today listening to the stuff on Radio Derby that I missed yesterday.
I've always felt confident that we'd survive, but realistic enough to know that liquidation was a serious threat. What we need now (and I believe that under the Clowes Group, we'll get it) is steady, responsible ownership. As well as the obvious ambition to move up the league pyramid, the future philosophy of our club should be to ensure that no owner puts us in this position ever again.
Enjoy whatever comes next and, above all, be patient.

Fairly routine win for India tonight down the county ground. We struggled to find the boundaries against their bowling attack. Apart from Du Plooy who hit 2 in a row but then got bowled out trying a ramp shot. Cartwright looked decent as well until Guest ran him out.
More importantly though, defeat for Northants and Yorkshire mean we have qualified for the T20 quarterfinals with a game to spare and even have a chance at a home QF with a win on Sunday ?

Indeed it was - it was the TISWAS interpretation of Crackerjack, hence the reason I posted it.

All parties now present, contract signing underway and cash transfers soon to be instigated. Last remaining hold up appears to be that the Quantuma reps are not taking the whole thing terribly seriously.

I've never made my mind up what the advantages or disadvantages of enforcing the follow-on actually are, other than by the use of hindsight.
You could blindly look at the scorecard and see that 14 wickets fell on day 3 and infer from that that the wicket is far from the road it appeared to be for the first two days and up until mid-afternoon today, but other than the new ball when Sussex batted and a somewhat reckless approach when Derbyshire did, it really does look like hard work for the bowlers for the most part.
Convention is to avoid batting last on a Bunsen, but it's far from that. Although Mark Watt bowled beautifully at times, I don't see him and Alex Thompson running through Sussex in a session. Derbyshire are still favourites, but the decision to bat again introduced the possibility of defeat into the equation. It's a game of small margins, so perhaps batting again just increases the likelihood of Derbyshire winning (by a few percentage points) and reduced the possibility of a draw.
I should imagine that it was a decision backed by the management.

A maximum of 30 minutes, in my mind.
Derbyshire have two new balls available - batting for 6 overs, 2 lost for change of innings allows 8 with the second new ball.
