I'm confused. We generally, and particularly first half yesterday, played out from the back. Lovely to see much better football. Now, generally during our league games we don't do that we get long kicks from the keeper and long balls from particularly Cashin and Forsyth which nine times out of ten give the ball to the opposition. Anyone know why? I don't get it. 

Why? This should be a number one priority for this game. 

It all comes down to trust. Why wait until the game is won before giving them a go? Isn't it better to see what they can do when there is still something to play for? 
What did we achieve or learn by flogging Collins for 90 mins? I know some will say once it went 2-1 you wouldn't risk it but I disagree. Especially given the nature of this competition. I hope the next match in this competition Warne is willing to be brave and show that trust.

I think it’s a bit silly not to start some of these lads in the EFL Trophy

Could see Clowes getting quite angry with Warne for his non existent youth policy. What's the point in Clowes spending millions a year on a Category A academy if Warne is going to give them 2 minutes in the Papa Johns Trophy? Frustrates me to no end.

Sibley needs a proper run in the team. He has loads of potential. He won't get anywhere by being dropped every time he has a quiet half. 

Depends how you see it really, 8th place in a pretty poor league. More importantly for me, pretty poor football.

Sibbo has to play 90 mins @ No10. Also the lad Brown should start at centre forward. We all know it will be Wash and Waggy though. The new Robson and Jerome.

He replaced Barkhuisen, our main threat, with a man who wouldn’t be dangerous with a box of lit fireworks in a petrol station.

Not bringing on Sibley in that game tells you everything you need to know about PW. 

Warne quite simply hasn't got the right mentality to be the Derby manager.

Home game syndrome. A game where we need to be proactive rather than reactive, where we should be on top and pressing for goals over a so-called lesser team. We struggle, just like we do at home. 

Oh, and here's a thought...Fornah is the key player for us. He's that destructive hard running midfielder we've been crying out for and he has a touch of quality too. He is...ahem...the new DPFG, and he taking us up.

Today was my tipping point. 
He talks a good game but what actually ends up on the pitch is so far removed from that. Pressing? We don’t do it. Pace? Didn’t bother signing any. So what does that leave us with?
First half was ok. Individual errors and pace of play the main issues. However, you could see Cambridge were comfortable pushing us down the sides and knowing our cross would be bad, no one would be in the box or we would turn around and go back. There was no central threat with Waghorn hiding and Collins not moving. No one wanted it and wanted to be creative in there. 
Then the second half hits… he waits 25 minutes to change it despite it being obvious after just 5 minutes of the second half that literally nothing had changed. We were still doing the same thing and still playing slowly. 
The sub he made? Puts our most creative, attacking central player wide left. Absolutely genius move. So not only did it not help, it removed the balance of having an actual wide player out there. Then he kept Korey Smith on until 2 minutes to go despite wanting 3-5 business days on the ball every time he touched it, and the ineffectual Collins ambling about. 
 
All in all, it’s showed me he’s either watching a different game or cannot put across his ideas, or both. Regardless, that’s me tapping out. I tried, I really did. But I want someone else now. 

You can fault the players, and you can fault Warne. The players on the pitch didn’t create enough or take their few opportunities. Warne then got the timing and personnel wrong when it came to the subs. It is 2 points dropped, by all involved. 

We need a new manager, that's what we need.

It's absolutely acceptable to be happy with the points but not the performance. 

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about Bloomers. 
Shrewsbury wore T-shirts with his, and another supporters’ name on, when they celebrated that promotion.
Fantastic broadcaster, wonderful bloke. I miss him. 

Collo gets a lot of stick but he's been the best outfield player on the pitch for us 

Have to say I think Nelson is looking a better signing as the weeks go on. Really impressed that he just quietly goes about his job effectively. 

Bird is the classiest of our midfield players. He retains the ball under pressure and can pick a pass.
He needs to believe that and stamp his authority on games rather than retreating deep and taking the easy options.
When he does we will thrive.

Disappointed (but not shocked) that Washington came on instead of Brown and Robinson didn't get any minutes...

Solid performance with two well worked and taken goals. Thought Sibley looked sharp despite his lack of game time, which bodes well if we give him an extended run in the team. 
Little disappointed we didn't see the young lad Brown given a run up front. Can understand him not starting but we know what Collins offers so why not give him at least a 20 mins run 2nd half? Only criticism though in what was a comfortable win in the end.
