Isn't the hope that we'll get our noses in the Premier league trough exactly why we are in the mess we're in?

One of my favourite moments in football is one of our fans booting Speedie up the arse at the end of that game.

Yeah I remember him being the hate figure for a good while in the early 90s, my first "big game" experience was being knocked out by Blackburn in the playoffs (1992?) and Speedie being chased of the BBG pitch and down the tunnel to the dressing rooms ?

You are right to be sceptical of Nixon, and his contribution here was garbled as always. But the gist of it is consistent with previous reports.. there was a big instalment due earlier this year on Jozwiak. That would leave around £5.5 million total of all transfer fees outstanding.. the £8.3 m offiically reported in the statement of affairs in November less transfer instalments paid  since then , principally on Jozwiak and Bielik. The same wonky report in the Daily Telegraph that first quoted the £8m outstanding amount on Bielik also said there was a £1.4 m instalment due in October, and that was deferred by arsenal until January. Now paid I believe.

So £5.5 million would be my estimate of total fees now outstanding. Most of that for Bielik, the rest for Jozwiak.

Still have memories of David Speedie doing us over in the playoffs.
Must be the most obnoxious football player ever

Of course, football fans have selective memories and our fans aren't any different to those at any other club

Yes I agree with you on this, but just feel strongly this was their third attacking opportunity given by a poor officiating decision in the first half, and this gave them a distinct advantage.
On a separate point, while perusing info re the PGMOL while waiting for MOTD to start, I find it interesting to note that referees are classed as self employed and have a contract with the PGMOL for each individual match, lasting from the Monday before the match until the post-match report is completed.

Referees must be under some pressure to do well in each game, in case the EFL/PL/FA funded PGMOL decides not to require their services for future games.

The club has virtually no assets. It has the name and the golden share and some players. Most of those player will, as things stand, be leaving in the summer, stripping the club of most of the assets it has left.
The club is all but worthless.

Not sure what tangible assets we have left quite honestly, the majority of our squad will be out of contract come the summer

7 points in 7 games for Reading including the "new manager bounce".
Safety mark tracking at 39 if their season long points average continues, down from 40.
5 wins from 9 games (or 4-3-2) gives us 39.
    Tough. Not impossible.

It was a penalty and it was a poor decision today.
But I think we as fans often ignore the decisions that go our way and remember the ones that don't.
Plange was offside vs Barnsley for the wonderfully worked goal, and there was also an offside in the build up to the equaliser vs Birmingham.
Now both games may well have ended up going our way anyway (dominating vs Barnsley prior to that decision) but you never know.  There have been plenty of occasions decisions have gone for and against us.  It's just human nature to remember the one's against more so.

I don't want Rooney talking too much about it personally.  His accusation against officiating after the Cardiff game was embarrassing.  More maturity and professionalism required in those elements - not to take away from the unbelievable job he is doing.

I did say that complaining about refereeing decisions has become the popular refrain now,  you for some reason have chosen to take my comment in isolation regards todays game.
1 goal in the past 5 away games isn't down to poor refereeing decisions but believe what you want

Of course some of it’s down to bad refereeing decisions. We should have had a penalty and could have scored from it.

But, you believe what you want.

I really hope Forest lose all of their remaining fixtures after today apart from Posh away.
Couldn't stomach us going down and them getting into the playoffs or even promoted from them
