I don't think any media outlet should be applauded for publishing factually incorrect information.
They have not really forced the issue, they have forced someone to have to come out and defend themselves against their made up story, and in the meantime many fans have now decided this guy is a 'chancer' on the back of this story.

Did these people not listen to the interview or did they just not understand what was being said?
My take on it was that he wants the loan from MSD transferring from Gellaw to him personally (or whatever vehicle he is buying the club in) that way, rather than using the money to clear the MSD loan it can be used for funding the club instead.
I am not sure how that equates to a leveraged buyout?

    Rough guide
                                              2018                               2014
                                                £m                                  £m
    ASSETS
    Players                               50                                     3
    Land, property etc            14                                    53
Inter-company loan           75                                     -              (this is the money owed for the sale of the ground)
    Cash                                     3                                     1
    Owed for players                 2                                      -
    Other                                    3                                      4
    TOTAL                              147                                     61

    LIABILITIES
    Bank loans                          3                                       15
Deferred income                6                                         8         (I would guess that this relates mainly to season ticket income)
    Other                                   3                                        8
    Owed for players              13                                        2
    TOTAL                                25                                     33

    NET ASSETS                   122                                      28

Roughly the net assets have gone up by the profit made on the ground of circa £40m plus the increase in player values of £50m, both are which are paper transactions. In summary, up to 30 June 2018, as MM had funded the club through equity we were are pretty much in the same financial position as we were when he took over, except the ground has been replaced with a debtor of £80m.
Of course the key is what has happened between 2018 and today. Has the £75m been paid to the club? I think I read somewhere that it would be paid over 8 years in instalments of £10m but I have not seen that confirmed anywhere. Has the club been laden with debt or has the parent company borrowed the money against the ground and then loaned that money to the club?

Simon Jordan  has no problem shooting from the hip and upsetting whoever’s in his crosshairs along the way.
Both him and Jim White have torn clubs and owners to shreds in the past, particularly in the cases of Bolton / Wigan and Blackpool.
I take a lot of comfort from him providing a positive spin on this takeover and adding weight that Alonso has the financial means to buy the club and keep it going. If he thought this was dodgy or that Alonso wasn’t credible, he’d be absolutely trashing both him and the club, no doubt about it.
I also think it’s fantastic that Talksport are able to quickly go to source on any rumours by calling Alonso out to answer the allegations being made.
Fair play to both Simon Jordan and Jim White.

Only way this won’t happen is if the EFL block it. With Trevor Birch overseeing the process if this is dodgy he will discover it and block it. If he doesn’t then it’s legit and we move on. The snippets of the Alonso interview seem logical and reasonable. Makes sense.

The unknown is he’s a foreign owner with no connection to the club and we don’t know his backers or their intentions, but they are not buying the club for £3 as it’s going into administration a la 3 amigos.

As for Simon Jordan. He’s been quite vocal on this a few times now in a positive way about Alonso. He reckons he has a very reliable source, he risks making himself look a complete plank if he turns dodgy so he’s not going to share that opinion lightly unless he knows something.

I have a warmer feeling than I did first thing this morning, but we are not ploughing into administration, the takeover is still ahead the ONLY concern right now is Saturday.

There are 2 parties that would suffer from going into administration.
1 - Derby County Football Club would end up with a point deduction
2 - I will let you work out who would suffer from any financial hit.
If MM did not give a damn about the club I'm not sure he would have kept on covering the wage bill. Perhaps you could offer to step into his shoes to show how much of a damn you give about the club?
Anyway, I will try again, do you understand the implications of going into administration and how do you think MM would benefit from it?
