Personally, as someone who knows nothing about the mechanics of the business or his role personally then i don't hold any weight behind my opinion on this really. However, I find it disgraceful that he's still around and i think it's pretty shameless on his part that he feels like he should still continue in his role.
I can't envisage a scenario outside of either knew what Mel was doing and the situation (in which case he's implicated in almost destroying the club) or he didn't know in which case he's a complete incompetent. His media appearances around that time trying to reassure the fan base when we were clearly on the verge of collapse are in perspective absolutely mind boggling.
But as I said I don't know what went on or anything else. Hopefully, one day they'll be an expose on the entire sorry mess. But Pearce by virtue of his position  played a massive part in almost destroying a 138 year old institution.
On Quantuma does anyone really trust their judgement after the multiple preferred bidders, some of which look like they're facing criminal charges and others simply having no money at all. They were bailed out by Clowes as much as we were

    I'll just leave this here.
IS FOOTBALL ON THE TERRACES GOING BACK TO THE 80'S IDIOT'S FIGHTING ABUSE BEING AIMED AT NOT JUST THE OPOSITION BUT ALSO THEIR OWN FAN'S .
EVERTON FANS WITH DEATH THREATS TOWARDS BILL KENWRIGHT. THE LADY CHIEF EXECUTIVE PUT IN A HEADLOCK BY A SUPPORTER ,THE BOARD ADVISED TO STAY AT HOME FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY.
SCUNTHORPE FANS INVADING THE PITCH WITH FLARES TO PROTEST AGAINST THE OWNERS.
WHEN DERBY WAS PUT INTO ADMINISTRATION BY THE LAST OWNER. MOST OF THE SUPPORTERS STAGED PEACEFUL PROTESTS, WITH THE ODD FEW HELL BENT ON HURLING ABUSE OUTSIDE M.M'S HOME (THIS IS UNFORGIVABLE BEHAVIOUR). AND IT'S GETTING EVEN WORSE .DISABLED SUPPORTERS ARE NOT TREATED WELL BY SOME OF OUR OWN FAN'S OR SOME OF THE OPPOSITION CLUB'S. STEWARD'S (YESTERDAY'S NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RANT).
AT DERBY'S GAME WITH CHELTENHAM AN AMBULANT DISABLED SUPPORTER WAS VERBALLY ABUSED BY A MAN WHO WAS WITH HIS YOUNG SON. THE MOTHER OF THE
YOUNG LADY POLITELY ASKED THE MAN BEHIND TO BE CAREFUL  AS HER DAUGHTER WAS DISABLED AND HAD A BRAIN TUMOUR .
THE MAN THEN SAID WELL F...ING LEAVE HER AT HOME.
THE MANS YOUNG SON LOOKED AT HIS FATHER AND SEEMED EMBARRASSED .
I JUST WONDER LISTENING TO SOME OF THESE PEOPLES LANGUAGE IN FRONT OF THEIR OWN YOUNGSTERS WHAT THE CHILDREN ARE GOING TO GROW UP LIKE.
UNFORTUNATELY THE LADY DIDN'T GET THE SEAT NUMBER OF THE MAN OR HE COULD HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO DERBY.
IT IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING THAT OUR DISABLED FAN'S CAN'T ATTEND A GAME IN COMFORT. AND THAT FANS CAN'T JUST DO PEACEFUL PROTESTS.
THE FA SHOULD INSIST AND FUND IF NECESSARY ALL CLUB'S  TO ENSURE WHEELCHAIR AND AMBULANT SUPPORTER ARE SITUATED IN A PART OF THE STADIUM WHERE THEY CAN SEE THE GAME IN COMFORT AND FREE FROM THE FEAR OF INJURY AND ABUSE.

We cannot replicate the march. It was a product of a unique feeling of togetherness and desperation of our fan base, this was a time when many of us felt extinction was beckoning for an institution that had served our community since before any of us were born. The march whilst beautiful to witness, showing off the very best characteristics not just of Derby but of football in general, was also horrifying in the sense we felt we had to do it at all. I genuinely hope no other fan base feels the need to march like we did in an attempt to highlight our club's plight and fight for survival.
Everyone who participated should not only feel proud that they came out but have now entered Derby folklore. Generations will speak of that march not unlike we discuss the big European nights under the baseball ground lights. Except, in this version the fans are the heroes, the ones who stepped up and demanded resolutions. United not divided we all helped save the club from oblivion. For that reason I believe the club should mark that date every year with some kind of tribute.
Perhaps a video with players and former management with what it meant to them would be appropriate as well as interviewing fans who participated on the march accompanied by the silent drone footage which shows the sheer scale of it all. If we got to Wembley instead of playing steve bloomer's watching I'd see if I could get that shown pre-match tbh.

On the personal responsibility argument I don't really buy that. After-all, Mel has disappeared into the mist and will likely never attend a derby game again let alone keep ownership of the club. Forfeiture of ownership is the punishment for mismanagement of the club to this extent. The club itself is simply a 'machine', under Mel it was badly run but under Clowes we've turned the page. But punishing 'the machine' is an odd thing to be doing. But without Clowes it appears that we probably would have gone under, he was our knight saving us from complete collapse.
Instead of playing Belper with a phoenix club we're still Derby County in the third tier of English football. I'm happy to take a lot of punishment for our current situation and am immensely grateful the taxpayers accepted a large haircut. If they'd demanded their full share it seems from the outside at least likely we'd never have survived. Realistically, in this division and the one above us we'll still do just fine even under the current restrictions. We're still an attractive prospect and a bigger draw than 95% of the clubs in the football league.

First half we were a delight and could have wound up scoring 6 or 7. Yes Accrington were shocking but we can only beat what's in front of us. Our movement and pressing were a delight to see with swift passing with a lovely tempo. Didzzy is an absolute cheat code at this level, utterly nonchalant yet absolutely everywhere too. Wildsmith is oozing confidence as are Cashin and Forsyth who have a perfect blend of youth and experience with Forsyth mopping up for Cashin's occasional errors.
Only downside was Osula today. Utterly stupid and definitely a red card, I'm just not sure how he thought he could get away with it. Of course Accrington are going to have needle when they're 4-0 down and getting humiliated in front of their 300 fans.

Was nice to see the stadium looking so full today too in the home end. Couldn't see many empty seats and just a shame Accrington didn't bring a few more. I do also think the club should also look into doing season ticket game returns if people can't make it for certain games. Those ticket holders should also have the option to make their seat available and in return receive 50% of the ticket price back in their pocket. Too many times it says tickets are sold out in the south stand yet when i get to the game there are always a few around me not taken up.

A good view of the goal from the away end. Credit to NML for not givining up and getting the cross in when it looked like it might go out, and to Dobbin and the others who took the gamble he would get it and were in the box to get on the end of the cross.

Perhaps. On the Burton point I watched that game on tv and i thought bolton bore significant similarities to that game but the halves were reversed i.e., our first half against bolton was akin to our second half against burton and vice versa . Just an inability to grab hold of the ball and the game itself. We are certainly vulnerable to a high tempo press and we seem to lack a consistent ability to put our foot on the ball now. Defensively we look much stronger but our midfield and attack have suffered under Warne so far i think.

Just got back from the game. Travelling on the train was horrendous both rounds but was far worse coming home. Aside from that the game was one played at a frenetic pace with Bolton looking dangerous in the first half. Forsyth and Cashin look immense at the back though and everyone worked hard to maintain their shape and defensively put in a shift. Halftime perhaps came at the wrong time for us as we'd started to gain some momentum in the game and finally put some pressure on Bolton. But throughout most of the half our play on the ball was shocking lacking in any real quality. At times it struck me that some of the players are de-skilling themselves on the ball because of the change in style.
Second half we looked better and not only continued to manage Bolton and began to press ourselves. However, we wouldn't have scored even if we were playing until tomorrow morning. Collins had a stinker and should have been brought off after 60 minutes for Osula. Dobbin looks devoid of all confidence and it wasn't Lang's day. The bigger problem is that we struggled to fashion chances in open play. Our biggest chances were from 2 set pieces and a couple of crosses sometimes created by winning the ball back via our high press but little was really fashioned.

Away from home we do look ropy from what I've seen and the danger is when a side does score am not sure we've got an answer to that. Yes, this is a long unbeaten run and that's great but this performance wasn't overly convincing aside from the defensive aspect of it. I think we need to be doing more on the ball creatively in the middle and the final third of the pitch personally.
