If we ever take the lead again I would like to see all 10 of our players go down simultaneously. This seems fine with officials who are happy for this to happen. I would like to see a 5 minute goal celebration followed by one player taking an additional 2 minutes to walk back to our own half. Following this of course, two players could go down with cramp whilst 8 tie their shoe laces. This is proper football. I’m really impressed by the sheer effort being put into time wasting this season. It’s what football is all about and the stuff kids dream about doing. This afternoon on Alvaston Park I can’t wait to see children feign injury just like their heroes.

We had a goal wrongly disallowed. We were in all likelihood beaten by the better team. But surely as true football fans we can offer our best wishes to their  players who simultaneously and coincidentally suffered such serious injuries that neither will likely play again. My best wishes go to their families during this difficult time.

That’s good then. For a moment I was worried that they hadn’t received this richly deserved payment.

It''s not just the refs though, the tv pundits are as bad. Derby defender waves a leg without making contact and the comment is "he asked the question of the ref" when a penalty is given against us. Then when one of our players goes down under actual contact, they say "there's not enough contact for a penalty".

The challenge from Rooney was the end of a several-yards tussle for the ball with both doing their fair share of wrestling, and Rooney throwing the Ipswich guy off and to the floor. That's all. Possibly frustration on Rooney's part because by then Ipswich had been pulling, shoving and tripping and getting away with it, but with free-kicks given against Derby players at the first opportunity. McGoldrick's hefty challenge was actually a fair challenge and got the ball just after he had been simply charged into with no attempt to play the ball. Sadly the ref saw it as retaliation, and as ever couldn't wait to get the card out. Your two players going down like they had been shot by a sniper just as Derby were getting a hold on the game, and orchestrated by your keeper, was shameful. As was the player who got "injured" on the touchline (Woodhead I believe, so no surprise there), but rolled himself back onto the pitch to stop the game. All hell broke loose because it was blatantly obvious what your lot were up to, with Derby demanding the ref took action, and the ref not having the balls to actually do anything against Ipswich players. Maybe his bung was performance related? Or the aforementioned two players going down injured and should have gone off the pitch before being signalled back on by the ref, but who actually never left the pitch. And one of your players was about to be subbed and left the pitch behind the Derby goal, tearing off his tapes and tie-ups as he went, while signalling to the ref that he was being subbed. But when the subbing didn't happen, he simply came back onto the pitch, without being signalled to by the ref, which is a bookable offence. Did the ref waive a yellow card? Not a chance.
As I said in another response, I can't stand teams who get their success through skulduggery, especially when they good enough to get success by actually playing football. Shame on you.

If Warne picked Sibley as an attacking midfielder our goal threat would be consistently transformed. For once it's not rocket science.

If anything, I suspect there’s a degree of pressure to not be seen to be swayed by the home crowd into making decisions.  So marginal decisions where the crowd goes wild are more likely to go the other way just to demonstrate “neutrality”. And at this level, we’re probably getting a lot of referees who’ve barely ever refereed a game in an atmosphere like Pride Park.

4 at the back, 3 in midfield, 2 up front and Collins aimlessly grazing somewhere?

It’s more midweek matches that some season ticket holders find it hard to get to. I doubt here will be many unused season tickets today. I just wonder about the amount of segregation there is now compared to what there was.

Just had a quick count up of how many tickets are left, to save anyone else doing it. I make it about 1,100. I think, for some reason probably related to Birmingham City, our capacity is well done from what it used to be under police advice. With a full away end it should be easier to work out. 🐏

I would have left him there and played on. I would also send off any player who goes down holding their head to deliberately get the game stopped when the opposition are breaking away only to have a bit of a leg rub by the trainer, as happened in our last game or possibly the one before that at Pride Park. I would also tell a player whose shoe lace miraculously becomes undone to do it up whilst the game is going on or off the pitch. If a  goalkeeper is deliberately wasting time I would award an indirect free kick from the penalty spot. That would soon stop it. Does my head in. I am appalled by what I have seen this year, I genuinely thought this league would have been played by men with a modicum of self respect but apparently not.
