You don’t realise how bad the language is until you take a child to the ground.
All you can do is tell the child to ignore the rude words.
You won’t get it stopped so don’t get over anxious about it.  Or if you can’t ignore it, keep away, kids understand it’s wrong if you explain it to them.  They’ll hear the same language in the playground at school at some time and you won’t be there to sort that out.

Weird one, you want to say no as you are surrounded by kids, yet 100 yards away you have a few thousand belting out songs with all kinds of fruity language.
If you want to protect kids ears from words you would rather they didn’t repeat, a football ground isn’t really the place to go I’m afraid.
Saying that, the fan in question should really know better and purchase a ticket in a more suitable stand so it’s not directly into the ear of a minor.

In my personal option this would first be the South Stand. Then probably the upper tier of the current away end so away fans have the choice of sitting or stanading.
Then perhaps two upper tier blocks of the East Stand. I dont think anymore would be needed.

It really isnt allowed under the stadium rules B4. South stand is a seated area. There is no agreement otherwise. As someone just mentioned there were some terrible tragedies that led to all seater stadiums. However, its always been known that fans stand in south stand since the allocations switched around. Same for back rows of other stands. A blind eye is turned. I and most others have no issue with that and get that many want to stand BUT standing in other areas selfishly spoiling the experience for others who have sat there for years and pay good money to do so is just going to lead to a backlash about standing generally. The wide discussion of it will also draw it to the attention of the authorities and as we know they like us to be made an example of.

Let’s not forget there are very good reasons (at least 97 ?) where top flight stadiums were made ‘all seater’ and until official safe standing areas are created the regulations should be obeyed.
Unfortunately we have too many selfish people in society in general, not just in our fan base, who think the world revolves around them and will do what they want.

So, this was taken from the game on Saturday. I clipped it from the highlights so apologies for the not great quality.

Again, no seats sold for non season ticket holders so all those in that block are season ticketers.

By the time the knock on effect reaches the back row where we are, almost the whole row is standing.

We had one of the complainers shouting at us on the back row to sit down again, but as most of us were able to perch some of the time, only my lad was able to sit for periods of time as the two rows in front of him are clear of people without those seats being sold.

The rest of the time we had to stand or we see nothing.

As I said before, if the club want to really deal with it it’s clear where they need to start.

The only game I recall "All of the East Stand were standing", we were all standing for The Tin Man!  One game!

    Singing stand, yes.
We are not allowed to stand.  The club may turn a blind eye to standing, but that is most definitely not the same as it "Being allowed".

Sorry mate, but no club at this level has permission for standing in seated areas.  (Forget dedicated Safe Standing areas for this conversation... that's a separate topic).
If the club announced it would allow fans to stand, The FA (Or EFL... or someone in authority?) would fine us, and the HSE (Or whoever is in charge of stadium safety?) would revoke our safety certificate, which would mean closures (Either for that individual stand, or the stadium in full).
Standing IS NOT ALLOWED.  There has been no official statement from the club to say "Standing is allowed"!

Just like if the club announced we could drink alcohol in view of the pitch.  They would be breaking the law, and get into trouble.
Yes, people may sneak it in.  Yes, the stewards may turn a blind eye if they spot you... Even I have been known to do it (Every time we are at home on Boxing Day), and I rarely drink alcohol, and less so on matchdays... but that doesn't mean drinking alcohol at your seat is allowed!
I still love yer, mate... but you are talking twaddle!

In terms of DCFC, no update as yet. I am pushing constantly though and its on the radar.
Just to add though, its not a standing terrace and the ratio will still we be 1:1. In fact like it is now but with a rail seat.

Last time Charlton didn't score a goal in a league game was Dec 2, so we did well to make them look so toothless.
Controlled the game, looked so much better with three in midfield. White looked quality, controlled that middle area of the pitch in the first half, allowing Hourihane and Knight to get around the pitch. Always nice when you could pick two or three players for MoM.
4 or 5 nil wouldn't have flattered us. As comfortable a home game as you're going to get. Expected much more from Charlton but I'm glad after the last couple of the games they didn't deliver!
The chanting between blocks in the SS was good fun.
Love from D block (E block can do one. F block silent.)

Well that wasn't quite imperious, but it was pretty good, wasn't it? I have to admit that I was expecting a much tougher game today, given their away record, but that particular Charlton didn't turn up. Actually they did, but we made them look poor. Maybe we did to them what Lincoln have done to us, twice! We seemed to have their measure all over the pitch, which is why they only had two shots on target, and that was the official stats, as I can only remember one.
The ref was pretty good today, which surprised me because we've had our 2 good refs for the season already, but then found out that Trevor Birch, the EFL Chief Exec was at the match! Cynical, aren't I? Although I think the first yellow card should have been red, it was that late and violent. And sadly, that was one of Charlton's calling cards, as they went in really hard on a number of key players. especially White, NML and Dobbin the first time he got on the ball. There was no intent to play the ball in the latter foul, so could arguably have been a red. But overall, the ref got a load of stuff right, and  nipped a lot of potential bad stuff in the bud. Good man!
I was glad that White was in the starting line up - it should have happened two matches ago, but he is there now! And only one up front! Hiya Paul, now I know you are reading this forum! It is a pity that we couldn't put our chances away, or we could have won by 6 or 7 today, but I am not worried, because we were creating chances, and maybe it is a sing that we are still fining our feet after the disappointments of the last two matches, but we are back into a winning mentality. Of note was Didzy's astounding ball to NML in the first half. IT started off heading towards the touchline just inside the Charlton half, then curved to the left and landed between the line and the area for NML to run onto - stunning! But the long raking pass is Cashin's own trademark. I have seen something of both MacFarland and Todd in Cashin's play, but he is quickly demonstrating a lot of Glen Hoddle's ability with the long pass which, in whatever direction he sends it ends up at the feet of the player intended. It isn't a one off, he does it consistently. What a privilege to have him in the side, and to have him so committed to the club! Man of the match  was only fair. And it was good to have the crowd back on song again!
Tonight's journey home didn't have the euphoria of the journey home from Port Vale, but I went home a very happy boy! Bring on the Barnsley!

Don't know whether it was a bit of a backlash from the storm in a teacup this week over on Twitter, but I thought the South Stand were terrific today, and backed up by considerable volume from all the other stands.
I'm sure the early goal helped, but well done everybody! ???⚽️

Charlton were awful if the first half and we should have made them pay for it, we didn't. That allowed them to comeback in it second half, even they didnt really produce anything of note.
I thought we were good but just not clinical enough.
we have to remember that we are not the complete team, we have a small squad and need reinforcements in a few positions, a few are playing out of position.
I thought Corey Smith was MoM, never put a foot wrong and they never gave him a minutes rest
    Loved the atmosphere.

I'm just pleased he's enjoying his  success with us at the moment. When we spoke to him last season he acknowledged how much he wanted to stay with us if he could, but he needed a job.
Glad we could give him a contract and only hope we can enhance it soon.

I think barks was frustrated rather than angry. He has just missed a chance and on another day could have been walking off with a couple of goals under his belt.
I thought his first half performance was crucial in creating an enhanced level of tempo after Tuesday. He was excellent.
