I kind of get that warne may feel a bit defensive and respond a little to some over the top stuff , the bloke has been with us for 5 minutes , has 3 promotions under his belt and is realistically only a successful if he gets us up , he’s having to put up with slagging off on all kinds of levels from being a fraud and nothing more than a PE teacher , having his personality ripped to shreds when it’s clear he tries to be a decent bloke , having fans scream that his football is shxt and he needs to duck off out our club , see fans screaming at players connor ect ect ect 🤷‍♂️,
 So for me good on him to stand his ground , results are all that matter when you boil it all down , I want him to work his backside off to get them and get us up and I don’t want him to be a doormat who swallow s crap and doffs his cap

Really didn't want to get involved in this forum again, as last time it became time consuming however given the criticism around the academy, I thought I'd share my experience and snippets of information having being around it for a number of years.
We are not a "2 club city", our area includes wolves, WBA, Foxes and others, teams use development centres to circumvent the hour catchment. The academy is going through a revamp, but given the lack of results over the years I'm surprised we continue to put in the funding to retain cat 1. PW contrary to opinion is often seen around the training ground, he does know players names, not all of them but it's not his responsibility to do so, the academy has people in place that run it.
I had the joy of attending a Man City session recently, the topic turned to stats and how Pep believes them to mean nothing without context, they are mainly for accountants and they are better served staying in computer games because they dont provide the full story and you can spin them anyway you want to back your opinion. I also smile when PW gets bashed for not backing the academy, why would you give players minutes over established players that are your key players for the season, or returning from injury, for example, that's without even going into contracts that have certain triggers and all the other stuff around that.
 
An even bigger smile is his failure to bring in youth at Rotherham, once again I'm not sure how a managers responsibility is to bring youth players through in such a short period of time and if the ones you have aren't good enough, why would you play them over your senior players when your chasing promotion ?
Hopefully DC will get the academy producing and hopefully it's as easy as some make out on here, but in my experience it's not. As I alluded to earlier, we have been trying for a good number of years and although we have wonderful facilities, a manager whose remit is to get us out of this division, isn't the gatekeeper for this objective, imo.

Maybe. But maybe on another day Bird might have scored when clean through (only denied a shot or a penalty by an outstanding piece of defending) and Sibley might have sneaked his effort under the goalkeeper when also through one on one. 
 
It was neither a great game or a great performance but if we’re going to play the “on another day” game perhaps we should apply it with a little more balance.

We weren’t dreadful. We weren’t great either; Bristol, a couple players apart weren’t very good. Martin lead the line well enough I suppose and scored the obligatory old boys goal from a set piece, but Nelson and Cash pretty much snuffed him out when he wasn’t wrestling them to the floor. Our lads worked hard but lacked polish over 90 minutes .. did enough to narrowly win it. I’ve seen better and I’ve seen worse. 

You hate Collins? Really? Hate? Have you met him, spoken to him? 
You may not rate him as a good player which is fair enough (you're certainly not alone in that respect) but aside from football what has he done for you to express such an extremist view?

We should be doing better and the fact we are 6th shows just how poor this year's league 1 is...Stevenage and Oxford above us.
But, credit where it is due, Warne has managed to claw us back into 6th with a real shot at top 2, with a decent run of games approaching, let's just hope he manages to keep it going.

It’s always interesting to read the match thread the morning after a game you have been at especially with the group of warne out at all costs kind of monopolising the forum a bit theses days ,anyway here goes my take,
first and foremost a game we really needed to win for us moving forward and for b4 , we had a really good break away up the field on 37 minutes which I really felt and we were going to score from at nil nil  and that would really have made my day but I know b4 would have shrugged it off fully believing we were going to go on and win anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️, I stood and put my hands together for the lad, 
the game , two div one teams in reasonable form on similar points going at it , both trying to play a bit of football cancel each other and themselves out with moves breaking down in congested final thirds and some poor choices and final balls , they came the closest to taking the lead with a shot of the post , not a great first half but far far far from the worst half of football I’ve ever seen as one poster describes it 🤷🏻‍♂️I never heard boos at half time but maybe I wasn’t looking for them , I did hear Paul warnes derby army ringing out from the south stand which nobody mentions so maybe the warne out number are not as some would have us believe,
second half slightly better and the crowd lifted a bit , we scored and I felt we would gone on to win it from there but we gave a silly free kick away and they score , ffs , not to worry , we go up the other end and re take the lead , well done boys and we should have made it 3-1 with a great break but a last ditch tackle saved them , was a bit concerned with Bradley coming on for an injured bird but at the end of the day that can go either way with the manager carrying the can ,, today we won 🤷🏻‍♂️,
wasn’t pretty , but it was everything I go to games for , emotions down , up ,down , up , edge of seat , final whistle , win , back to the car with a smile and happy , a man of simple pleasures 🤷🏻‍♂️

We've just beaten a team that were unbeaten in their previous 6 games and were set up deliberately to spoil and stop us from playing according to their manager. 
I for one am happy that we managed to get the 3 points despite their tactics and close the gap on some of those above us.
It was great to see so many stand and applaud for B4 and can only think that like me, loads were clock watching and started clapping as soon as it hit 38 minutes.
