I don't want us to be a boring mid table bottom half premier league club like a Crystal Palace or a Southampton. That's not us. With the right set up we are destined to be a force again. It's a roller coaster ride supporting this club but that's what we are. What's happened recently is terrible and should never happen. But we will be back!

We are all Derby County fans. We have no choice. We support them through thick and thin - and always will. It's our club.?
But would you rather things be a little less stressful? A few years of respite? Or maybe, the "stress" (not real stress) of chasing a Champions League spot?
Yes there are other possibilities. It's late, been a long day and I'm too knackered to list all the possible options. Don't find one you like, just write about it - or move on. Ta.
Personally, I have found the last few months to be traumatic but I do think we will look back and remember the achievements, the games, the togetherness very fondly.

To be honest if Rooney said he was leaving a week ago or two weeks ago when CK's takeover fell through, everyone would have went into full panic mode and with him walking then we would have definitely feared the worst.
He probably waited until we got some good news, but made his mind up a week or two ago and didn't want to increase the anxiety among the fanbase by letting the fans know his decision then.

You know when you have a dream and then when you wake up you’re not 100% sure if it was real or just a dream? I had one last night and dreamt that Lee Carsley was the new manager. I even said to my girlfriend this morning how strange I found it that he’d leave England U21s when he hasn’t really been there that long and thought he’d at least give the Euros a shot next summer.
She replied “I have no idea what you’re on about, it’s 05:30, go back to sleep you absolute weirdo.”
Oh well.

The most important thing yesterday was that it looks like club has been saved. A week or so ago that was looking unlikely.
Nevertheless, it's disappointing - albeit understandable - that Rooney has decided to leave.
Some seem disappointed at the timing of his announcement, others (amazingly IMHO) feel let down by his departure and a few appear pleased he's gone.
My own feeling is that he decided to go once Kirchner's bid fell through but that he stayed around until the club was secure.
My opinion of Rooney changed beyond recognition last year. I think his dignified manner when dealing with the issues is what rallied everyone. Rooney's role in the club's rescue should never be underestimated.

I can't see past Rosenior at this point, if he wants the job. We are 5 weeks away from the new season with a shell of a squad & another possible points deduction in the offing. Some of the suggestions on here wouldnt look twice at Derby in this state & to be blunt, we would have difficulty attracting anyone of serious calibre. I've always been a big fan of Ian Evatt & ordinarilý, he would be a credible choice (see his RamsTV interview last February when still Bolton manager) but Bolton are in a much better state than us currently.
Rosenior knows the players & is able to offer continuity of style/approach. He is a bright, personable & driven guy and the fact Blackpool wanted him speaks volumes for his reputation. Whether he wants an experienced assistant is his call but I certainly don't think it would hurt having someone to act as a sounding board.
We don't have the luxury of time. We have a very good internal option so lets utilise him & get a squad signed up asap. And quite frankly I would not trust Quantuma to either run a process or make any decision on an external hire. They need to focus on facilitating a takeover & then getting out of the club.

Just to clarify.....I wasn't suggesting anyone change allegiance. That's impossible, right? No matter what we go through.
I was merely asking if people wished for Derby County to have a few hum drum years languishing in mid table, winning some, losing some, in the Premier League.

Also, I don't think Hughton would be a good choice as Assistant; his defensive approach and disdain for using academy players would still be an unwanted influence.
