Could you offer up a few examples of 'great' players in the 3rd division? I'm confused by this concept. I'd always thought this league would be, well, third tier.

Could play the worst football known to man and I couldn’t give a s*** if we win games. It only becomes a problem when you start losing.

A clean sheet, a hard-earned 3 points on the road, wasn’t pretty but I’ll take that. Still got players to come back in, more minutes for those recently back from injury, Nyambe with a solid debut, and a good lone striker effort from Collins.
It’s a decent enough Saturday for me. 🐏

Seen a couple of comments like this, which I understand given how unhappy some people are with Warne, but doesn’t he deserve some credit tonight? He picked the team, I assume they’re playing how he’s asked them to, he’s made the substitutions, yes some of what’s gone before this season hasn’t been great but if people are going to give him stick when it’s bad give him credit for the good too 🤷🏻‍♂️
Backs up some of what Warne has said himself about needing the likes of Sibley and Barkhuizen back to provide more attacking threat. Wilson back from injury and seemingly playing 90 mins, Bradley and Elder better tonight, Fornah and Embleton playing their part as they settle in further.
As you say let’s hope for more of the same on the weekend.

I get that people want Warne to use the academy, but those academy players have got to be good enough. We’ve been absolutely spanked for the last 18 months at academy/u23 level. We lost all of our decent prospects. Maybe we don’t have the talent at the minute to make the step up. Brown and Robinson look like the only 2. No biggie for me.

Plenty of Rotherham fans were also lamenting his loss when he left them for us with many saying we were now nailed on for promotion. Whatever suits the narrative......

To what end @RoyMac5? I can see a fairly clear correlation between the dissatisfaction you and others are feeling and the potential intent of this poll. It appears to me not to be an objective fact finding mission but more an attempt to confirm your own conclusions. And I’m happy to be called a cynic for coming to that conclusion.
It’s clear there’s discontent amongst the fan base, it’s potentially growing discontent too. Almost every thread in this part of the forum is hijacked by this same binary model of you either like it or you don’t, you either like Warne or you don’t. Nothing in life is ever that simple in my experience.
I haven’t voted in the poll as I have enjoyed the football at times over the last 11 months, and I’m not enjoying it currently, but it’s a fluid and changing situation. If we go on a run of wins people will be more likely to enjoy it, others who have made it clear their preferences on style of play perhaps won’t regardless of any wins. I’m just not sure what another poll or thread discussing this specific topic does to change the ongoing debate one way or another? Some are happy, some aren’t; some are keen for Warne to leave, some are more willing to give him time; some are content to have a club to support each week regardless, others have a burning desire to see the club return to its glory sooner rather than later.
Everyone is entitled to feel how they do and form their own opinions. This poll will do little to change that other than to spark more debate and disagreement, which I suppose is the point of the forum and makes my ramblings moot. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😂
I’ll just get back to sitting on my rickety fence.

I enjoy the theory of his style of play, although the practical application seems to be somewhat lacking ATM.
However, watching England yesterday, reminded me of watching Derby under LR. It was so slow, passing for the sake of it. For all the possession England created virtually nothing, with the goal coming from pure Warne ball, 50 yard diagonal long ball from by the half way line to a wide player, not unlike many balls from Cashin to NML. The most annoying aspect of LR ball was the ridiculous goal kicks from the CH to the keeper, inviting the opposing forwards to put us under pressure.

Wow , you live in a different footballing world to me , i have next to no interest in possession stats , shots stats , xg numbers , iv no interest in dissecting games this way afterwards , I want to turn up at games and judge for myself in terms of how the game made me feel whilst watching it , I don’t buy a season ticket , drive 3 hours each way to then trawl the media for stats and numbers , I know when I like what I see and enjoy a match and I know when I reckon we were rubbish,

Slightly dumbfounded that the best forward for the league was available for 800K and we weren't in for that.
Where is the money to spend? We sold Knight and Bielik. What was that money used for?  Don't tell me it was to pay off outstanding fees to Lech Poznan because supporters were assured at a charter meeting that there were no outstanding fees to pay before these players were sold.
It leads me to believe that we were in for Jonson Clarke-Harris and that @Big Travwas once again correct in what he was saying. I think our move for him fell through because the Cashin move to Brighton fell through. Trav can confirm or deny that if he wants/knows.
As for his ITKness - people are saying he only knows when someone is in the building...surely the contact he has, who presumably works at the club, is always at the club all the time and is therefore hearing all the time about what the general news on the ground is/what the club are trying to do?
I have been ITK in the past as some people know (my contact left a few years ago now so haven't been for ages) and just because they worked in one particular department didn't mean they didn't regularly hear about who we were wanting to sing/what the general mood was/who the targets were etc.
So, all being said in done, I'm definitely still a Big Trav fan, I feel sorry for him for the pelters he's getting and want to say a big THANK YOU for sharing what info you get on the forum.

Now this is where I struggle.  Warne is critiqued over every word he says, then there’s something positive and it’s part of his job.
If we’re prepared to criticise we should be prepared to praise.  Imagine if your boss criticises you and analyses every minor flaw and then when a colleague praises you your boss says “that’s their job”.  I can’t imagine you’d be very happy about that.

Despite all of the wrist slashing negativity on here we've made a solid start to the season. There's room for improvement of course, but most level headed people can see that there's a lot to be positive about.

Hello doom-mongers and all those prematurely calling for the head of Warne!
Even before today (it's currently 1-4 H/T to the Rams at Peterborough) I was going to post that Wigan and Oxford, who beat us at home, have also beaten Bolton and Barnsley respectively (teams we expected to be challenging for promotion this season along with the Rams).
So before you next call for Warne to go, let's appreciate that it's a long season and there will be many ups and downs before the end. We're lucky we still have a team to support, and I for one like the look of what's happening at Pride Park, in spite of the occasional hiccough).
I'm new to this forum but I say keep the faith and come on you Rams!

Exactly.  👋 Why do so many have to get in a camp and have that “I am a naysayer” and will never move or change my outlook. It’s almost as bad as American politics. Grimly polarised.

My feeling is Warne knows his stuff but there have been a fair few spanner’s in the works so he gets plenty of slack from me.
Those same spanner’s would have been there whoever we had had. The transfer market is bizarre at the moment, we are being measured and cautious with funds for numerous reasons. This club is being rebuilt from the lowest ebb. To expect nirvana from the first manager since our near collapse, in less than a season, is little short of pathetic. As fans of course we want success but as far as I am concerned yes, I want to be challenging for promotion, but anything above mid table is fine. I will get very twitchy if relegation looms and revisit my stance. Warne has it all to do. He has my support until rational, sane and reasonable expectations are endangered.

If I am really truthful I am a good time Charlie, so as long as we score a decent number of goals and win at home along with putting up an honest fight on the pitch, I am not really worried one bit. Yes of course I’ll scream from the rooftops if we get promoted 🐏🐏🐏🐏🐏
I wonder if that makes me shallow 🤣

Socks that have been previously owned and worn? Some you suspect might still be a quality pair but you’re not quite sure they fit your aesthetic? Some you can see might have seen better days? Some odd ones that might make an interesting combo but you’re not sure if you can find the outfit for them? Some that Eiran Cashin has cut a dirty great hole in?

My sole intent was to spin out some sock analogies, don’t pull me up on it please.
