Honestly, when you read how some react to their articles, is it any wonder that clickbait trumps old-fashioned reporting of the facts? Suggest we just give Mr Kirschner a warm welcome and roar the lads to victory as I very much doubt the guy would bother flying in for the game if his interest was waning.

As someone pointed out earlier Sam, good\positive news doesn’t fit their agenda, can’t be reporting about a wonderful gesture by Derby County’s fans, and others, in fairness.
But with all the negativity reported at the Euro’s final at Wembley and all the twots recently banged up or banned from grounds for racist tweets etc I would have thought an opportunity to confirm good and decent people follow football as well would be too good an opportunity to ignore.

Great news about your dad.  Long may that little arrangement remain so.  ?
I'd imagine those that are using Covid as "an excuse" to stay away aren't overly concerned as to whether you accept it or not.  And rightly so, I'd say.
And how about those that didn't actually make it through Covid?  Is that a good enough excuse for them not going anymore?
Perhaps we should introduce a "Cryonics Corner" or "The Taxidermy Terrace"?  (With safe standing, obvs!)

Oh yeah... great news about your dad.  Did I mention that?   ???

There are a lot of fans who are not turning up who might wish to be ‘busting a gut’ too. However, COVID has not been fair to the old - and we do have I would suggest a quite old fan demographic - nor has it been kind to many in terms of income. I think it’s a bit crass to call out fans who in the past have done their bit, but for now have good reason for not being able to attend.

We need to let it go. We're rid of the major issue at the club (Mr Morris). Enough is enough. Put your energy into backing the players and the manager.

    Hi
Bournemouth supporter here and congratulations on the win yesterday. Should have been a draw but that's not what I came on here for.
In 2008-09 we were on zero points after 19 games - having started on -17. We were also under a transfer embargo, were struggling to pay players and had a  team with several on-league and out-of-contract recruits. For us the rest is History as Eddie Howe stepped up from youth team coach on 1st  January, lost his first 2 games but we stayed up on 46 points.
OK! OK! I know it was League 2, and you don't want a Bournemouth history lesson. My point simply is - it can be done. Your home support may just help -it was pretty impressive yesterday.
    Hope you manage it.
    Good luck.

I nervously clicked on the comments under our match report on the BBC website last night.
The vast majority of comments at that time were from fans of all sorts of different clubs wishing us well and hoping we do it.
People want to believe and the more the fans get behind the team, the more the players will think they can do it too. Rooney already thinks we can and that's good enough for me.

I know it’s just me and no right thinking person on this site will agree but:-
From now to the end of the season I will consider every point won as vindication of the team I support even if it turns out to be nuisance value by stopping the opposition from picking up points from us. AND one in the eye for the EFL and all who sail in her. COYR!

I don’t post much, if at all, in this thread because I don’t feel I’m knowledgeable enough to add anything meaningful however I have always thought ‘postponed\adjourned’ meant the appeal was shelved to allow other disputed misdemeanours & penalties to be concluded pending it being resurrected following the former being agreed by both parties.

And by your metrics, a £21.5 million disadvantage in the final years of the respective players' contracts. ERV and straight line amortisation policies have two salient similarities; they start and end with the same sums, so net depreciation figures for the two methods are identical. Our methodology was accepted by the EFL for the three years in question and independently audited and approved by Derby's auditors, the IDC and the The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). That's three independent and fully qualified bodies versus the the appeal board which was appointed by the EFL and contained not one accounting professional and whose decision remains unratified, yet cannot be appealed.
Against this background, the club has spent most of the last two years under embargo and now finds itself shorn of senior squad members, unable to develop youth acquisitions and facing the additional punishment of a points deduction approaching 3 times that of Reading who made operating losses of £43.5million in the 2019/20 season, with accumulated losses totalling £138million. Their last overall wage bill was £37.6m with wages running at 211 per cent of revenue compared with 226 per cent the previous year. More frustrating still is the fact that Reading are able to appeal their 9 point sanction via an independent panel.
With all this in mind, can you explain why you take issue with folk suggesting there is something of a witch-hunt in process because for the life of me, it's hard to see anything even-handed about the EFL's behaviour at any point throughout the process. Folk are not expecting any kind of special dispensation after all, only a fair trial which I'd venture is far from unreasonable.

As our appeal was adjourned to deal with the FFP punishment, many posters initially speculated that we would get the 9 points reduced in return for not appealing the admin 12 points. Then Percy and Nixon said we were still going to get the 9 points, meaning 21 points. Then speculation was that the EFL was trying to force us into accepting the 9 points by threatening to delay the process beyond Jan.
Maybe, just maybe the adjournment was called as the same people would be working on both issues. Perhaps the appeal can take place after the FFP points have been awarded.
I appreciate that that doesn't fit in with the pantomime villain persona of the EFL but in 'normal organisations' this would be the most likely explanation.

For me, the EFL became the bad guys when they used the words "disappointed" and "regrettable" when one of their attempts to punish us failed. Its a governing body and should be ran as such, the use of such language turned it into a witch hunt imo.
None of that takes any blame from Mel, it just makes the EFL look like they are not bothered about the actual rules and whether we have broken them, but rather they want to punish us because we appear to have broken the rules and are under pressure from powerful lobbying from outside their organisation.
    Plus I'm biased. ???
