£2.5m is the most we can expect for Knight in the current conditions. Its a fair chunk of money to use at this level. There is an argument that we could keep Knight and get promotion to get him to sign a new contract. But the player has to want to do it. I think he will want to go. If he does...id take £2m tbh and move on. 

For me, the reality is Knight (or Bird) is not going to be the difference between promotion or not.
We were short of finishers and a decent last ball and have lost the player head and shoulders above the rest of at both.
Getting in players to rectify that is our priority  and if we have to sell to bring in a fee to help us do that then I'm good with that.
Currently I just can't see where any goals are coming from and it definitely isn't from Knight or Bird. As long as we are able to rectify that with 2 or 3 forward looking players then I can take us letting players go to fund that.

My biggest concern with PW is that he never accepts that tactically he got anything wrong. The slow reaction to other teams’ changes is happening time after time.
The train has definitely gone off the rails. Lack of confidence with the players is obviously a big driver but there’s something deeper…

Just cannot for the sake of me think why PW would mess (again) with Fozzy and Cash in the middle who were doing so well and throw Curtis into the mix. Just change for the sake of it and it’s hurt us - and not only in this game ..

Just looking back at some of the game … upon reflection I probably agree with what u say…. So long as the players around him play their part…. He did win a lot more headers from balls coming into or near the box than I first thought….
Just need to keep him away from those one-on-ones…

PW obviously no fan of tommo at all for some reason.
Glad we are winning- and at the end of the day that’s all that matters I know- but this game to me has been a perfect example where PW’s one area of concern is highlighted… ie when and who to bring on as a game evolves…

Barks and NML really badly out of form at the wrong time …

Great guy and a great servant for the Club… but totally  amazing how a defender who is old (35) can suddenly age 5 years in half a season. Davies just can’t hack it now. He really makes things worse at the back and doesn’t ‘shore’ things up a bit..
