SaffyRam reacted to Andicis in Reading FC (A) Matchday Thread
I think Curtis will go down as one of my favourite ever Derby players. He's just a hero. His attitude to playing for this club is absolutely immaculate and he's been a top performer for years. One of the best signings we've made in a long long time.

Sadly not, in a stroke of luck though they’ve suddenly moved to Romania so I’ll be able to watch it on rams tv whilst there ?

I love this current team so much. It's going to hurt if we lose any of them.

Forget experienced manager, tactical nous etc. What this club has needed above anything else this season is leadership. We had none with Mel absconding and Stephen Pearce being a puppet. Rooney has filled the void and has at times led the whole club. That’s way beyond what he should be doing.
He has inspired this team to do great things this season. If we survive it will be one of the greatest achievements in this club’s history not in honours but in triumph over adversity.
Hes improving as a manager and a coach as well. This combined with outstanding leadership (which can’t be taught), I really think the sky is the limit for him as a coach and (if it’s financially viable for us) we need to keep hold of him as long as we can.

My family are all rams, but my mum and dads family all live at leek so they are all pot herbs except my cousin who was brainwashed by me when little? and she sits with me. So this match to her is more important than forest??

Back from the game, what an atmosphere and what a win! Thoroughly deserved and I am proud to be a Ram tonight.
Our fans were brilliant, and I have to give a shout out to the Stoke stewards and police, who were superb. Firm but fair.
Said thank you to one of them, she replied we were the best fans they'd had there this season "very entertaining"! Take that how you will. ??♀️

SaffyRam reacted to Kernow in Player of the half season?
Curtis Davies for me.
I know it’s cheating a little but following on from the last game of last season really when he came on to give his all to keep us up, despite not recovering from a serious injury and not knowing if it was his last game in professional football, let alone for Derby.
But at his age, the desire, the passion, the influence he has on this team. I believe it’s infectious for the rest of the players and he must be such a positive role model for the young players coming through. He doesn’t have the armband on, but he’s certainly the captain of this football club.

He deserves every plaudit he gets from Derby fans & the media. 6 months of the most ballsy leadership I've seen from any manager of a club at this level.
Really want some praise directed to Liam Rosenior also though. I think there's a very sharp managerial duo developing there out of the shambolic press conference last October after Cocu left. Very articulate guy & was an outstanding pundit on Sky before he took the plunge with us. Further ahead of Wayne in his coaching credentials I believe so he'll be leant on from a tactics perspective. Different character to Rooney but I think there's a real brains trust driving us to respectability on the field.

I’d resigned myself to league one, accepted it and moved on with my life… these gits have now given me hope and the chase is on! Big game next but win that and oh boy!

SaffyRam reacted to Day in Build the Rooney statue now!
Goodbye 2021, without a deduction this team made up of freebies and academy players would be 13th in the Championship, just 8pts off the top 6.
Build the Rooney statue now.
First job in management, everything he's had to deal with, incredible job he's doing. ???

Bad news is Im probably now banned from this Lanzarote hotel chain for screaming some choice Anglo Saxon in the middle of a performance of 'Far Eastern Chinese Mystery' on full time. Good news is it wasn't during the fire juggling & as I'm going tomorrow anyway, I don't care.
What a team. What a club. You Super Rams ?
