Bit sad that I won't be watching 3 Rotherham games a week and supporting their oppo.

Can we please stop lambasting Fozzy. Theres been enough poor play from the whole squad this season and he doesn't need singling out today. I'm sure he's fuming with himself. He's been a fantastic servant to this club, gone through multiple career threatening injuries and I'm glad he's with us still.

Come on, that wouldn't even have got a "U" in a maths exam! Yes, the starting and ending points are very similar (worse now), but the bits in the middle hardly compare.

This reminds me of that annoying saying "if you want to make a small fortune from football, start with a large fortune".
If the clever wag who came up with that had bothered to put some numbers in there, then the quote could have been:
"if you want to end up with 500 million from football, start with a billion".

I can't help but think back to the 'worst fans in the world' thread...
Turning up on a Saturday morning in the p**sing rain to cheer on their team after the season we've had? On this evidence we have (some of) the best fans in the world! Hopefully it can give the players the lift that they need. COYR! ?

My take. If almost anyone else would have put their name to the OP, I would have shrugged my shoulders and moved on. I know Nick, not well just nodding really at games and have always admired the time and effort he has put into a club he clearly loves. We have both been in the 200 at Cardiff or Ipswich on a cold Tuesday. Not that makes anyone a super fan or anything and I know he has already batted those comments away. Those comments would have hurt him I’m sure.
However he has posted it and I do give it credence because it was from him and what does he get from just stirring? That’s not him. We all know he has contacts in the club and will be a lot more ITK than I will ever be.
I’ve had concerns about the club but only from what I see. This post has reaffirmed those fears. Some will poo poo, that’s fine but at least look beyond a post on a forum. Smoke and fire?

I am a bit surprised by this post. Mainly because I usually agree with, and enjoy, most things you post (I won’t let this indiscretion affect my judgement ??). But your last two paragraphs are nonsense.
    1) Mel Morris signed up to own and lead this club and he has failed pretty miserably. He knew the risks of his investment, but imagined and gambled he could quickly bankroll us in to the Prem. As I said, he has failed miserably, but hey ho some you win, some you lose. Mel Morris is still a very wealthy man. Yes he’s ‘lost’ perhaps £200m of his fortune to Derby, but he still ranks very highly in the UK as one of its most wealthiest individuals. He has a duty as owner and custodian of the club to ensure it is properly financed until the day he leaves, and that when he leaves it is in no worse financial position than when he took over. He also has in my view an obligation to ensure that the person he ultimately sells to is a fit and proper person to run a football club, and has the wherewithal to support the club through thick and thin. There is no reason whatsoever in my view that Mel Morris cannot commit publicly to both those matters now, and whenever asked in the future.
    2) Whilst nobody should knock Pearce for his excellent accountancy skills, he is only as good in that regard as FRC Regulations and his Casio calculator allow. Now me, I would like the Club’s CEO to be a bit less “Smithers” and actually direct the Club in the right direction.
Up the Rams. Easy 3 nil win tomorrow. Thank god we have Mac in the background directing things ?

I was barely a teenager back then tbh, but I remember it being bad. I’d need to read Pride to try and familiarise myself properly with the era again to be honest, I remember players not being paid and Mathias Svensson being a decent loan.
I’m very worried for now because personally I don’t see a credible solution. There’s so much to answer for and no one wants to front it up. What are Alonso’s intentions? Does he know what type of club we are? Why are we not considering local ownership if offers are there? Is there an embargo? It’s baffling the relationship the board have with radio Derby/DET and I think think they, and some on this forum, need to realise how important that relationship is to the community around the club. Whilst they haven’t banned anyone, it has more in line with Fawaz’ ownership at Forest than what’s comfortable in my view.
I know you’ll disagree but I had grave concerns after Cocu left because we threw away any sort of plan for the club. I probably started to prepare for our fate at that point too. To be honest, in terms of the season we probably deserve relegation a We’re very fortunate that Wednesday started on -12! And hey, I’ll admit, I was wrong for a bit but the truth was we were in free fall and still are because I’m not convinced we’ve yet hit rock bottom. Whatever happens tomorrow, an enquiry into what happens next needs to take place and the fans need to come together and ask questions.
Actually, as a final point I just thought about, when comparing the Pickering era to now. A major difference that makes this era worse was that they appointed George Burley as interim at that moment helped steady the ship atleast on the pitch to which they could then build on (after a couple of seasons). Whilst it’s not right to say they should’ve kept Cocu at this point, because it’s a pointless argument, having a manager who had a plan to keep us up as part of a longer term plan maybe was more crucial at the stage of the season we were at. Right now there’s little build on with the playing staff, a manager who’s teetering and whatever the financial situation is.

I’m not 100% sure when it happened on here, but posters on here are so quick to pile on a thread that they disagree with at the moment.Presumably mature people trying to make quips, posting sarcastic comments or just trying to put another poster down for god knows what reason. I get you might not like how a poster puts something across, but the OP on here is atleast trying to start a dialogue and points out the warning signs, what can the rest say they are doing? We can disagree, debate or whatever but it feels a bit of respect on here is lacking imo.
If the forum wants a say in what the future of Derby County is past tomorrow, it needs to get involved with the discussion. Or else you’re just on the side making sarcastic quips and posting laughing emojis

Agree with a lot of what you are posting there, although I still retain some trust that Mel will get it sorted. I think he has been more unlucky than irresponsible, but things don't look great currently.
I don't agree with criticising @therams69 /Nick for claiming to be a super fan, or a self-appointed spokesman for all fans. I don't know Nick at all, but he is not an anonymous keyboard warrior, but someone who actually tries to do things and make things better.
As @Ambitious says though, what can we realistically do? Mel is trying to get out and sell the club. I think I'd rather him stay until he can sell to someone trustworthy.

Woke up at 5 and can think of nothing else. Not living in Derby all friends are non-rams and if I get another stupid message saying "big day today" or similar as if its a cheery little thing happening I will smash my phone. Really? just crawl back under the stone you came from all of you. Is the weather as bad in Derby as in Cambridge? At least can be nervous wreck at home as son's cricket cancelled. So holding up well - not

Right, here's what I am going to do.
I think that it will help the players to know that we're behind them on Sat, no matter what we think about the situation both on and off the pitch.
Therefore, I am going to drive down, try to park somewhere, maybe even the rail station car park if there isn't anywhere closer (e.g. Holiday Inn was always my favourite on match days), walk to PP and show my support, even if it's just me.  Then I'm going to walk back to the car and listen to the game on Radio Derby whilst driving home.
I'm going to do this because whatever the outcome I want to go to sleep on Sat evening knowing that I did what little I could to encourage the players to give their all in this crucial, season-defining game.
I will feel better doing this than if I just watched or listened at home carping from the sidelines.
Just as in the days of the 3 crooks when we protested outside the ground, now is the time to stand up and be counted.
I will socially distance and wear a mask.
I will be there at about 10am.
    Even if it's raining.
    Message ends.
