Come on G mate, a ticket for the Club Corner stands on race day at Silverstone is only £515 quid and the men's final at Wimbledon starts at a very modest £2,500.
    Gulp!!!

Followed them closely until I was 2nd jabbed, but have never used track and trace or checked in anywhere. Since being jabbed I only follow the rules about masks and distancing etc because I think wearing a mask is the decent thing to do in the company of strangers/supermarket employees etc. Would happily stop doing that tomorrow.
Went to the pub the other day, mask on whilst finding a table etc, sat down, took it off and almost instantly was approached by some old bloke who got uncomfortably close, even for normal times, who basically breathed directly in my face from a distance of approximately 3 inches, whilst telling me his wife had been in hospital with Covid for 4 weeks and he hadn't seen her.
He left me and my pal to England v Scotland pretty soon after and as everyone else in the pub didn't bother with masks when ordering (at the bar), and bar staff didn't care either I too didn't put mine on for the rest of the night.
Would have no problem doing so again as everyone in there had given their consent for me to not follow the 'rules' by breaking them themselves, but I think where you encounter people who obviously still feel unsafe being in close proximity/unmasked it's the decent thing to do to follow the rules.

For the record once again and for the gazillionth time?,
time will tell where this headed ,I don’t claim to be in the possession of knowledge others don’t have but I do know when stuff stinks to high heaven and is very wrong, but just for starters from observation,
Western governments have taken / conned a level of control over ordinary people that was unthinkable only 18 months ago and are clearly in no hurry to give people their freedom back , whilst abdicating responsibility for this to EXPERTS ?,
big pharma have unending virtually mandatory money tree with total exemption from any comebacks,
the divide between our rulers and betters is widened hugely and in such a blatant way that they flaunt it , one rule for the rich and powerful another for the plebs who stunningly are doffing their caps and saying all good sir , please save us sir ??, you alluded to sheep ??‍♂️
I could go on but it would make no difference at this point but will continue to point out the propaganda when it’s swallowed and posted as fact ??‍♂️

Laugh away mate but I've consistently derided the Boris and his cronies as a weak-minded, self-serving and not fit for purpose, from start to finish., so I'm not sure why you feel the need to advise me of a fact of which I've always been aware. That said, I find your assertion that everyone who doesn't share your precise opinion to be some sort of blinkered sheep a bit tiresome, to be honest.
For the record, I've simply asked what it is you are alluding to in specific terms and once again (and for the gazillionth time), you've failed to offer any kind of coherent response. People aren't calling you a 'conspiracy nut' they are asking what it is you mean. Not sure what that is that's so hard for you to grasp  ?‍♂️

Here's what MD says in Private Eye. He's a real doctor, if anyone's not aware who he is. Argument showing some of the thinking behind delaying the opening back up.
"Hospitalisations are up by 50 percent in a week, and deaths by 8 per cent. The numbers are small compared to January. But exponential growth has left us for dead three times before. Do we err on the side of caution or optimism?
"As ever, different scientific advisers have different predictions: from a third wave that is "considerably smaller" than January, to one that is "considerably larger". Would lifting the remaining restrictions now overwhelm (some) hospitals? SAGE cannot say with confidence either way. But it does think even a short delay in full-fat freedom would lead to a significant drop in hospital admissions for Covid (and allow more people to get vaccinated). Eventually, individuals will be left alone to decide the risks they pose to themselves and others (as football supporters are already vividly demonstrating)."

Exactly - that's why I was making the point that I see the obvious contradiction and therefore it's not an easy choice
Even when I try to be the voice of reason I get shouted at! ?

I'm not entirely sure I follow what you're berating me for.
are you saying that the push is being driven by some other nefarious agenda to simply make profits for big pharma?
I'd say that's a happy (for big pharma) side effect rather than the global agenda

And nobody has said vaccination is 100% safe. But the risks are very low.
The biggest risk is anaphylaxis - which is why there's a 15 minute wait after your jab. Most reactions will have occurred within that time, and you'll get quick treatment and care if you start reacting badly to the injection.
There is a small risk of blood clots, but it's small enough risk that, even for the younger generation, you will be far more at risk of health issues from Covid than you will be at risk of suffering clots related to the vaccine.
This thread is actually pretty funny in my opinion, as it's a small but vocal group railing against health measures that have been brought in to minimise the effect of a global virus. It's pretty much the standard response of almost every country in the world (with some variation in capability around enforcement of strict controls, about adherence to mask wearing and to reactiveness to rolling out vaccinations). And we're still waiting to understand who benefits from all this, why the world has almost universally reacted with the same measures (barring one or two, who mostly have had horrific experiences by not doing enough).

The point is, this should be the clubs decision to raise the price if they wish, not be forced into it.
Would you be happy if they started to control ticket prices? Sorry fans but the EFL have decided we must charge £50 a ticket for this game whilst then signing TV deals with Sky for peanuts.
International fans are frustrated as it is paying a monthly fee where games can be pulled when shown on TV, games which might not even be on TV in their country.
It’s also been pointed out that £25 is a lot of money in other countries, highly doubt the EFL have stopped to consider this with their blanket 100% price increase.

Isnt there something of a difference between closing borders as a precaution when you are in the early stages with no immunisation, knowledge of virulence, testing etc
.. And now, when we are able to tailor the action we might want to take down at the individual level?
Just seems about 15 months late, and is such a blunt instrument it's been completely overtaken by events.

    That clip was from 2011.
In 2016 she claimed she was not in favour of capital punishment but there is no record of any explanation for the change of view.
Of course she's also the progeny of Indian born parents who emigrated from Uganda to the UK to run a corner shop. Precisely the sort of people that the country now does not need and would be denied entry, according to priti patels new rules.
