  1. Without checking these accounts, was I correct that helping Krystian achieve his World Cup dream that lasted a full season got us zero transfer fee and a further 1.5 million to cover this January as way of thanks.

True. Didn't look at the date on the line item.

So the interesting bit then becomes, all those free agents cost £1m in agent fees.

Seem to recall there was a large amount of historical agent debt to clear from Mels glory year.

Yep. Maybe this time we have learned our lessons. Lets hope so

To be fair I can recall us bringing loads of youngsters McDonald Koblenz, Calero etc for minimal fees. None did a deal. a 200k or 100k here and thre isn't money well spent on potential when it's took weeks bartering over 100 k for their number 1 target.  When they have more cash to spend OK.  At the minute a 200 k gamble in this league equates to a 2 million gamble in the funds we seem to have at our disposal in real terms.

Buy both Mark Lillis(Smith) and Phil Gee(Young) if you are old enough to get what I'm going on about Comrade

Cox was offered Gee and Steve Bull by a scout who'd been looking for potential but couldn't afford both as he had brought in another striker.  I assume that would be Lillis then.

In the dangerous position of suggesting a player having never seen him play or really know anything about him but...

Keanu Baccus from St Mirren, Aussie international in his mid20s described as a defensive midfielder. Almost moved to Bolton in August but it feel through for some reason. Contract up at the end of the season. On paper sounds quite handy...

Any SPL experts on the forum that might know more about him?

Our record on Australians isn't the best.  We've even broken the one that was supposed to be a championship regular.  A pass from me.

No, it keeps teams and fans interested throughout the season. Not perfect, but works ok for me.

No play offs we'd have gone back to the first division under Cox and again under Mcclaren.  No loss to Leicester and no back to back promotion under Cox. That lot keeps me interested enough to be honest .  Each to their own though. Wembleys good if you win not so much if you lose in them to a team who've won 4 less.

I still don’t know why they agreed to waive any amount of the fee.

If Stephen Pearce had anything to do with that he should be applauded for saving us £1.3m

If we hadn't paid them anything we'd have been banned from buying on the continent. Knowing that wasn't our likely market and we wouldn't give a crap, they settled.

  8. Clarke- Harris has rejected two pay deals from Charlton after a 500k bid was accepted.  I think they're trying for more cash from us to add more cash to that deal.  Understandable, but at some point you need too tell them to b******* that's your lot and see if they sell, otherwise the Clarke- Harris deal probably won't happen anyway.  We must have other irons in the fire or people aren't doing their jobs.

  9. Signing 43 players in a year really is special.  250 million not including promotion bonus, wage increase, new wage, loan fees and agents. Throw in 10 million for the Tik Tok kid and a few private jets.  Can't understand how this has happened at all.  By not paying agents their millions god knows how much self employment tax is missing from the exchequer .  We all know how upset they get about that.

    No.  I'm ok with it.
It's Barkhuizen I struggle with... There must be 5 different pronunciations spread around Radio Derby alone! 🙄
I ain't got a clue how to pronounce it!

... I also used to struggle a lot with Stefan Schnoor, but that was more to do with my lisp, to be fair.

Have Radio Derby stopped Steele telling everyone that (add name) has plenty of nonce.

Captaincy means nothing as long as the team has multiple leaders. It's just an armband. For near on 8 years we had what we all thought was as great example of a captain on and off the pitch in Keogh until he did what he did.

I'm not going to argue that any of the albums shouldn't be on the list, but some of the placings seem way out to me:

    Ziggy Stardust 81

Dark Side of the Moon 70

    Rumours 41

And finally Led Zep IV at number 7!!!! The reviewer couldn't understand it not being number one, yet it is at 7!

I am however more surprised at some of the albums that are missing. No "Night at the Opera" or "Day at the Races". However the biggest missing album for me is "Bat Out of Hell". One of the biggest selling albums ever and it doesn't even make the top 100 of the 70s.

Low at 1.  Dear me no. He was half addled on cocaine at that point.

Agree with all of this except I didn't feel the Burton goals were down to Vickers, which makes it a little hard to switch him out even though his punching and command of the box was poor.

Wildsmith is a huge asset in terms of game management and normally giving the defence confidence. I wish he hadn't had the two consecutive poor games he had, as I would prefer him between the sticks, but I think Warne will feel that now he's made the call, he can't go back on it immediately as there isn't a compelling reason to. And it may be that Vickers grows into the role.

He's not overly confident with balls into the box.  I think the first one is saved if it doesn't hit Nelsons heel.

Try getting a 10 stone athlete to push you in the back and kick your legs from under you and see if you can keep control of a football.   It was a blatant foul and the weight of Seddon is irrelevant.

With the weight I'm carrying nowadays he'd probably break his foot, then some ribs when I fell on him.

  15. Personally, I think we have a few who aren't ever going to be regulars and a bloated squad with pissed off players is a recipe for disaster.  Could we tempt Charlton into a player swap.  Perhaps Bradley would like a year or two in Carlisle.
