sage got a reaction from r_wilcockson in Will Derby cash in on Bird and Knight
Well everyone seems to be wallowing in the worst case scenario.
I will keep enjoying the football, paying my money into the club and wait to see what happens.
Merry Christmas

This is a worse consequence than relegation

for those running out of contract yes.
I repeat, it would be madness to sell a young player on a low wage unless it was to bring in a substantial fee.
For instance offloading Lawrence Jozwiak and Marshall to reduce wages is part of the battle and if we were offered £5m for Knight £2m for Bird £1.5m for Buchanan and £1m for Sibley, it would only make sense to sell Knight. It would be enough to see us through till the end of the season.

sage got a reaction from Stive Pesley in The coronabrexit thread. I mean, coronavirus thread
Omicron could be the variant we are waiting for. A dominant variant which doesn't kill people. We don't know yet, so caution and research till we do.

sage got a reaction from Oldben in Would our current squad challenge for promotion from League One?
It's irrelevant. Due to age and finances this won't be our squad.

sage reacted to Eddie in Christmas Dinner 2021
My daughter makes the Christmas dinner, and she was toying with an Asian theme this year, but my grandson Oliver insisted that it must be a 'proper' one for the grown-ups - despite the fact that he won't eat any of it (he is severely autistic and has his own ideas of what is edible and what isn't to him).
My job is the 'nibbles' which tend to be handed around from about noon (dinner proper will be at or around 5:00 pm), and these may include a few of:
Chinese dumplings - possibly Sheng Jian Bao with either pulled pork or crab Five spice peanuts - basically a peanut brittle type snack Indian Jeera biscuits - a buttery biscuit containing cinnamon and cumin seeds Gujarati Khaman Dokla - a savoury, spicy sponge cake Pakoras and samosas (sweet or savoury) Mini curry pasties and vol-au-vents Brussels sprout bhajis Dutch/Belgian Bitterballen Kroketten -

sage got a reaction from Kathcairns in Should Rooney be doing better under the current circumstances?
He could be doing better, but so could every manager in the world. Brian Clough could have done better.
He is doing a decent job on the pitch and a good job off it.
We have so much more to be concerned about than Rooney. He shouldn't be exempt from criticism, but it feels like every defeat is an excuse for agenda and I told you so
