Patrick Rams reacted to Jimbo Ram in Relegation watch
We are still in the situation that if we win on Saturday, a big if I know, and Wendies lose, they are down. If we can just get a bloody win...off someone’s arse will do...

Well said..I think we've all been guilty of bigging up Rotherham like they are bound to win all their games in hand and that subsequently we are doomed.I believe that's now 3 home defeats on the bounce and while I can accept their fixture pile-up and tonight's red card have not exactly helped they are below is for a reason. We are poor this season but equally they must be also to be lower in the table.

Depressing.
Rotherham are giving every last drop. Boro with nothing to play for are searching for that third goal. Ball is zipping about and bodies on the line.
Shameful how lacklustre and limp we were last night. Really shocking performance.

We are too big to go down and also don't deserve to go down. Every game is a Champions League final now (see we already got there). We have a divine right to stay up.
If we do go down, we'll absolutely smash League One and all those little clubs will be in awe of us. And who doesn't want to go to Wembley to see us in the Papa John's vs someone like Swansea reserves? Rooney will get his boots on again and score about 30 goals.
(This post can be used to justify how people have been posting that we are too big to go down)

Don't see why you haven't posted in a while... it only takes a second or two! ? ?

Our rivals can't all win all their games, its not possible because some are playing each other, example comig up is Rotherham v Coventry

Eh? I haven't seen a single poster on this whole thread who has stated we are too big to go down. Not one.

Well it's not, it's 4 points ?
If we get no more points and Rotherham get 3 more points, who stays up?
-
Patrick Rams reacted to OohMartWright in Relegation watch
No. Points count. It is 4 they need to make up.

Correct... because they have appointed a proper football manager...it always helps.

You could always dedicate your time and energy to celebrating Forest's promising promotion charge?
I'm not sure what you'll do from the start of September onwards, but it's better than nothing.

Don’t think Reading had anything to play for when they beat us on the last game of the season and kicked us out of the play offs did they ?

You're just getting old like the rest of us mate.
We saw the best team in the country for 6 or 7 years bitd.
Promotion, Two League titles, European Cup runs, semi-finals, yet Sam Longson ended up pilloried for giving his all to DCFC, a generation later, Lionel got abused for throwing his fortune at his home town club, Mel has done the same, tried to live the dream, failed by the skin of his teeth to take his boyhood club to the promised land of the premiership. Mel watched the Longson/Clough years from the Popside, if he's failed its not for the want of trying.
Keep the faith fella, there'll be another golden era before we're done. ?
These Derby men have tried, they have given us some absolutely brilliant times and some poor times, that is the history of DCFC.

Quite common in most clubs. The candidates all had suitable CV’s ... None of us were fundamentally opposed to any of the appointments at the time. We might have had a dislike of either Pearson’s 1970’s PE teacher mode or the razzmatazz of Lampard but they were all typical of football. We have had every variety with the exception of trying to recruit the sort of tough guy agricultural manager with a “proven record” (although Pearson might fit that bill) . where everyone would have moaned about the lack of ambition.
The transfer policy “errors” started with Bryson and Hughes being injured in the same match which lead to panic buying at inflated prices. At the time, these were seen as bold, supportive and positive moves. Your are eating hindsight by the KFC family bucket load.
The financial state of the club ? .. Mel filled it with money .. some spent well, some badly .. We haven’t had a fiscal mismanagement situation or anything “taken” from the club by Mel. We got in a mess on FFP and Mel coughed up by buying the stadium and paying the club money for it.
Sam Rush ? Is Mel really responsible for another man’s ethics ? ( or lack of them ? )
The fiasco ? .. Someone broke their pledges or didn’t meet their obligations .. it wasn’t Mel. Maybe Mel shouldn’t have trusted them but good business and life is defined by trust. You have to start somewhere. Has anyone thought about Mel here ? He has obviously had some serious health issues yet he hasn’t flinched from being a DCFC man
yes, for sure, be sceptical or wary of new owners, we all are, we care about our club, but Mel has been a straight shooter from day one. Some of the things he’s done or wanted to do didn’t work out but he is trustworthy beyond doubt . Now maybe those he has trusted are sharks .. but that’s a different story.
I cannot believe how you have such a judgmental attitude to a guy who has given his best efforts and a shed load of money to this club. Your judgement is littered with an astounding lack of logical analysis.

Mel's reasons for selling are his own but why on earth should we just 'trust mel' after we've had a failed takeover that lasted what felt like a lifetime because they couldn't come up with the money?
Please tell me you're joking... the EFL's 'fit and proper' persons test basically led Bury to extinction and got Wigan into financial ruin. It's clearly nowhere near sufficient enough to ensure proper custodianship of a club.

Just be thankful it wasn't "most Leeds fans"! There's a hell of a lot more of them!

All 4 Derby goals that day were brilliant, I think 3 of them were in the Goal of the Month competition.

Teams very rarely play three games in a week, managers commentators pundits and even fans go on about playing three games in a week when they play Saturday Tuesday Saturday. There is only seven days in a week not eight. Rant over.

Patrick Rams reacted to AndyinLiverpool in Kaide Gordon - signed for Liverpool
In 6 or 7 years' time we are going to be drawn against some non-league team or other in the FA cup and we'll see Kaide Gordon's name among their subs and say, ' Ooh look. remember all that wailing and gnashing of teeth when we lost him for peanuts all those years ago?'
