I have consistently argued for fans to stop overreacting, because the results and some performances have been good.

What's concerning is that last night imo it's no overreaction  to say it was possibly the most sloppy performance I can recall and in the circumstances as disappointing as it's possible to comprehend.

The chance to go top and we literally appeared to have been on a stag do all weekend. Elder was decent going forward but defensively he was a liability at times and he was our MoTM.

Hourihane misplaced so many passes it was bizarre. Bird is so passive. Wilson toiled energetically but created little. NML looked like he'd been working down the pit all day. Even after constant offside Collins kept running offside do he couldn't be passed to. Barks barely touched it. Sibley looked so weak, slow and pedestrian.

Thompson tried hard but was a bit like an enthusiastic puppy. Cashin kept trying the same dangerous pass out, Nelson seemed off it... just all-around it was frustrating as anything.

TJJ missed a good chance and did nothing else till he pulled up injured again.

We need Fornah to be the player we think he is and get the game by the throat. Nyambe and Wildsmith need to come back. Put players back in their proper position and get the centre midfield taking the ball off the back instead of constantly looking wide.

Fortunately Sat is a very good game to get back on track. No excuses to not win it and address the issues and go again.

All above is a very good assessment certainly from last nights performance

However i have a relation who is a season ticket holder at Bolton and he recons they were more than fortunate to beat them 1-0 last night and were one of the better teams he as seen so dont count your chickens that we will win on Saturday

  2. Managed to gather my thoughts on last nights performance,i though we played ok to be fair given that the pitch is not allowing that perfect quick pass we all like to see.

However to gift a two goal lead away in this league is criminal although by the skin of our teeth managed to get the late winner

As for the players i think Elder should never grace our field again he is truly shocking and i am not sure what Warne sees in Vickers in front of Wildsmith in goal although both goals last night was not of Vickers doing,we look a more calm side at the back with Wildsmith in goal

Onwards and upwards but i would like to see a couple of  additions this month i do think we need to freshen our team up a tad

  3. I think we need two new players are a bare minimum to try one get us out of this division,if we fail again and have another season in LG1 it will cost us inevitably as i think crowds will dwindle next season

Last night shown us our back up players are not good enough

  4. Not sure why people on here saw it as a even game,to concede 66% of the ball and 20 chances at home isn't great.

Yes we did have players looking jaded but we have only played as many games as Peterborough have over the period,it was the team i expected Warne to play to be fair but as backfired, this now puts pressure on the game at Fleetwood were i think he has to rotate

I thought they were the best side i have seen at pride park for a while and to say they had a untried goalkeeper and one nil down in less than a minute speaks volumes,i think it just goes to show this is still going to be very difficult to get of this division again this time round

Lets see were we are come end of January will we get reinforcements and will we lose any of our squad, for me this month is massive

A comparison of the League Tables as at 29 November 2022 & 2023 makes interesting reading:

    2022                  PLD   W    D   L      F       A         GD        P

    Plymouth           19      13   4   2      39    22        17         43

    Peterb                19      10   1   8       34    23       11          31

    Derby                 18       8    5   5       23   16         7          29

    2023                  PLD   W    D   L      F       A         GD        P

    Bolton               18      12   3    3     37     18        19         39

    Portsmouth      18      11   6    1      29     16        13         39

    Oxford              18      11   3    4     31      18        13         36

    Stevenage        20     10  6    4     29      19        10         36

    Peterb               19     10  5    4     37      20        17         35

    Derby                18     10  3    5     31       16        15         33

    Barnsley            18      9  4    5     34      20        14         31

    Blackpool          20     8   6    6    33       25         5         30

Admittedly, you can read anything into stats to back up your own position but with a fairly positive (but realistic) outlook, I can see some positives. At this stage last year we were 11 and 13 points behind the top two, this year currently only 6 points. Last year, I think everyone would agree, Ipswich and Plymouth were the outstanding teams throughout the year, rightly gaining automatic promotion.

The consensus of opinion is that Derby haven't played as well as they might at present but are still 4 points better off than last year. Surprising, having lost our talisman McGoldrick, we have scored 8 more goals than at this stage last year, conceding the same as last year (16). Both Bolton & Barnsley have also scored a lot more goals too, helped by two huge wins.

My conclusions: things are no where near as bad as is being made out. Hopefully there will be a lot more goals to come together with an uplift in "exciting" performances. Hopefully we can keep hold of the players we want to retain in January and bring in a couple who can really improve the team, to the next level.

My positive spin - I know the doubters will use the stats to put a different view on things.

A good post and the difference in terms of Derby are we have managed to get 2 more wins out of potential draws the losers are the same.

I do feel this season the league does feel easier and if we do not gain promotion it would be a massive blow to be honest

I was speaking to a Matlock Towns players Dad on Saturday while at BTFC, He was telling me that Matlock have a player who earns £750 a week at his job and £500 a week playing for Matlock.

Managers/coaches were/are monitoring him with clubs from the GM Vauxhall conference and maybe league 2, Unless they came up with £2k a week he's not interested, Not a clue on how much Crewe pay their players...would £2k a week be about right 🤷‍♂️

Yes not far off,i go the watch the Staggs from time to time as i live in Mansfield also i know someone who works in there commercial office, there highest player is £5K a week but most are on £2.5K-£3K

  7. Not sure were this team and PW are going as soon as we see a slight improvement we implode again, well done to Crewe who deserved there glory and to be honest should of won the first game

Losing both cup games in the 1st round must be a first, even more both at home.

I get the feeling the likes of Cashin,Bird and maybe Sibly are off come January and this could be the root of the problem, are they fully committed to Derby County or even worse in my opinion  not liking the PW way of playing.

7 Defeats already and its not December yet is worrying and we are back to were this forum was a week a so ago Warne in or Warne out.

Me i am on the fence at present but would not take much more of this to slide to the side of out

  8. Way way better today in fact really enjoyed the game which makes a nice change

Beating a team and a unbeaten team away from home to boot is great, more importantly it turned out to be  a must win in the end as all the other 5 teams in the top five won also,if we had lost this game there would of been quite a gap opening up.

Bring on Tuesday night then lets get the players rested up ready to go again

Finally PW well done after taking a bit of stick lately

  9. i do get the annoyance and its not directed straight at DC ,he now though as to show us the supporters he is the main man and get rid of Warne for the clubs sake were going down like the Titanic.

No manager should be given a 4 year deal and that was on him in the first place and this as come back to bite him on the bum.

When you are travelling to Stevenage Cheltanham and Shrewsbury and not confident of a win then there is something seriously wrong at the club

  10. A wins a win against possibly the worse team we have seen at Pride park so far this season

Better balance to the side and Waghorn should always be picked in front of Collins

Again not sure why people on here think Sibley is the next Lampard he was lucky not to be substituted at half time, yet again another missed opportunity, although maybe nice to go again with the same starting 11 come Saturday

  11. Big Big game tonight which after only 12 league games gone  sounds crazy to say,yet if we fail to win tonight and the vultures will be out for Warnes head

As far as i see the season so far he has managed to turn good players in to a crap team

Who would of thought we would be going in to a game at the weekend away at Stevenage and are not favorites to win this is how far we fell,

However i will be there tonight cheering the lads on come what may

After Tuesday and it’s another poor performance do we create another thread titled warne out out out

I think if its another P*** poor performance and we get beat it will be so toxic in the ground it will be out, out, gone

  13. I think i read a post Saturday in the last 31 games we have amassed 44 points

That is 1.42 points a game approx that if it continues will get us in the region of 65pts come the end of the season, going by the final league table last year that puts us around 10th

If anyone on here thinks thats ok and Warne is doing a good job then god help us

That is such a baffling interview

It's the sort of interview you might give after you've just had 20 shots on goal and somehow lost 1-0, not when you've just been deservedly beaten.

"We need to take our chances"

So do Shrewsbury! If both teams took all there chances yesterday, we still would've lost .

Absolutely correct they score the penalty (although it wasnt one) they score twice,if we were still playing this morning we wouldnt of got three

  15. Another god dam awful performance followed by the same old drivel from Warne in his interview

Never before now have i been a Warne out but im afraid he as to go, we are a million miles from were we need to be in terms of quality, performances and league position,we are 13 points behind Portsmouth after only 12 games already, just not good enough

I look every week at the two starting lineups and we should be walking this League, take yesterday there was not a single Shrewsbury player i would of selected in front of our team in any position which suggests there is something wrong either on the training pitch or behind the scenes

Yes the Blackpool away win was ok but then to get only 2 point from Cambridge,Cheltenham and Shrewsbury is criminal.

The biggest question is can Clowes afford the pay off and in tern attract someone to take over this mess,i can see at least Bird and Cashin moving on in Jan which will make us worse as a football team

  16. Not sure why there is a lot of love for Sibley anyone would think he is the next Paul Gascoigne, there as been a few managers now that as not been tempted to play him for a regular term so there must be a reason, perhaps he does not train well or something the manager and previous managers are seeing that we are not privy to.

  17. A message to you Josh,i am so very sorry for your loss, at this moment be strong my friend and we are all thinking of you

Horrible disease i to lost my mum when i was only 14 years old, then my partner was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago thankfully she has managed to pull through but every day is a timely reminder so i do know what you are going through,

My heart goes out to you and will also look forward to welcoming you back to the team when you are good and ready

    Much Love

    James Collins doesn't help himself

Last night a few times the ball was played into his feet in space, but he instantly plays a first time ball back to the player who gave it to him, all forward thinking is lost and back we go, the opposition get set in shape

Just hold it man and look for a ball out wide or side, or like Franny Lee did back into the defender with your backside and roll him or look for runners

I think he just needs to think more positive and get leaning on the centre half  a bit more

I think Warne said last night we need to be a bit more quicker at that killer pass not always the safe ball

    ??

Yes agreed if he is picked to start games(Unlikely) he needs to watch a video of how Chris Martin held the ball up and played players in
