I came over to the UK and went to the match with a crowd of friends we sat in west upper where I still have a seat, on Sunday  I also caught up with friends who sit in the North Stand, I can tell y’all that if Warne continues as manager the ground will be virtually empty next season, to a man and woman we were disgusted at what we witnessed. None of us will be there tomorrow night and the lack of enthusiasm to turn up for another game was palpable. Apart from Waggy there was no effort from the team, and the tactics were at sub pub team level. Clowes must be getting severe buyers remorse about warne, and I predict as soon as crowds drop below 20 k he will be an ex manager.

    Hard to disagree with you

  2. These match threads are becoming oh to familiar week in week out

We were shocking again Saturday once we scored the penalty we all thought around me it would be a robbery if we won the game.

That said given Portsmouth were unbeaten they were not much better .

Starting to get concerned now about the way we set up and play, Warne im sorry to say is not the answer, you can blame injuries all you want but its more than that, i think he as bought players in to the club that are literally not good enough to get us out of this division .

The only saving grace is no one looks like running away with the league, look who is at the top Exeter and Port vale with Stevenage close by,its embarrassing, the Red Dogs must be loving this

  3. Pretty much the same thread as how many points do you think we should have by now after 6 games ,most posts suggest we are slightly under par in points terms but its the performances are dismal but you rightly suggest we are sat ok at the moment in the table and i do think our expectations are higher than that

  4. Looking at my penciled in predictions i had us at 11 points after 6 games so not far away, however its the performances that concern me more than points on the board at this stage .We need to improve big time, next game i feel is tough then the next five fixtures look ok i think 12 points minimum from those, lets see were we are after 12 games

    Here's a radical new idea.....

    Let's keep our best players.

We could even build a team around them.

    Mind blowing, eh?

Easy said then done though, firstly he is out of contract come the summer so he could go anyway and secondly once a players head as been turned its pretty much game over BHA will be offering at least treble his wages so cant blame him

We have to remember we a are a third tear club now and easy pickings even more so the fact we still havent got a pot to hiss in

I believe the first 45 minutes at Peterborough last season was the best we've seen Derby under Warne - we absolutely dominated them, essentially camped on the edge of their box but couldn't score. We then, stupidly, over-commit to a corner in the second and two passes later it's in the back of our net. It felt to me like a season defining moment, don't think we looked the same after it and haven't since.

The problem with this game is that Peterborough have plenty of width and plenty of pace - two things we just don't deal with at all well at the moment. It's a very different game to the one we had against them last season, two different teams. I was hoping we would have one or two bodies in ahead of this game, we might, but with limited days for training I'd imagine we will go with what we have: Wildsmith; Rooney, Nelson, Cashin; NML, Smith, Hourihane, Thompson, Forsyth; Waghorn, Washington. 4-4-2/3-5-2 formation.

Warne doesn't have it in him to play it pragmatically, it's going to be a bit of a basketball game. A point would be good. Three points would be mood-lifting. Zero points, probably the most likely.

Was there remember the game well should of been out of sight by half time,at that stage there manager tweaked there formation,Warne as normal was to slow to see what was happening right in front of his eyes when we all could see in the stands,we all know how this finished

This match last season was the start of the red flags for me. Warne took the players to Cheltenham races for some team bonding FFS, three days previously, turned up against Fleetwood thinking they already had 3 points. Went into half time 0-1 spent the first 15 minutes of the second half with the gang of three discussing subs that should have been made at halftime, whilst they were pissing around Fleetwood scored another. And then the usual panic, make 5 subs. I said to my son at the time he hasn't got a plan B and nothing has changed to this day. The gang of three cannot see the game unfolding and do not react, I suggest they study weigman and the lionesses to understand impact substitutions. Bird will go to Bristol city and cashin to Brighton and why wouldn't they, how are they going to develop as top class footballers with warnes brand of hoofball. We know they are better than that

    Cant disagree

He is just moving the blame for awful football displays to someone else.

First comment and it wasn't his fault but the fault of those 'want away' players. Second comment and it's because he can't bring in the players he wants as his budget has been cut.

None of it is his fault!?

Look at the squad, other than a lack of pace (again his choice) the players are plenty good enough to play well and win games in quantity in this league. Why aren't they?

Agreed but there lies the question,Why aren't they?

  9. Yes quite worrying from his last few interviews one remarking heads have been turned and the other night saying things he cant talk about thats going on and needs to keep them under his hat

I do think he as tried to get more players in but maybe he is being blocked from doing so,ie the money for Knight as not been spent on players and perhaps he as been told the same if Bird gets sold, who know just guessing but clearly something is not right

i was very optimistic for this season now after only three games we are in a real mess, not even that confident we will beat Fleetwood this weekend which tells you everything

  10. All i can say about last night is Wow,how bad are we

If you take your centre half (Bradley) off three games in a row what does that tell you

If we are now saying Thompson is a must starter on Saturday, what does that tell you, he was lucky to get a place on the bench last season

Not sure if we have ever lost all three home games at the start of any season before but if this turns out to be 4 on the spin come Saturday then i think Warne has to go,this weekends game is followed by trips to Bolton and Peterborough that could realistically see us in the relegation places.

  11. I am not calling in any way for Warne to be replaced certainly how early in the season we are, however that said a blind man can see the 3 at the back is not working,in fact even Cashin looks like a donkey let alone the other two.

Our first two fixtures have been against teams who both played in the championship last year which just shows how far behind we have fallen in terms of quality,i know we have had restrictions put in place on what we are aloud to do by the EFL but we look a far cry from the team we had last season.

Is this worrying i would say yes lets see how this goes come Saturday as this looks like a very tricky fixture now,get your tin hats ready if we get beaten again

There was much talk about how hard players were being worked in pre-season, so how come we were out run by a load of players who apparently haven't been paid and seemed better motivated?

Yes you make a good point, quite a lot of our players looked out on there feet at 70 mins,so much for the extra training then

    Just bad phrasing.

Anyway, Waggy was telling supporters outside the ground after the game that he's already signed so there's no doubt.

Lets hope so on yesterdays performance we need him and another decent striker if we have any hope of being in the mix at the end of the season

I wonder what Birds motivations could be, and that’s just to try an understand all the possibilities from his angle.

Hull = middle of the road Champ team. Is that so much better than a promotion chasing L1 team with sell out crowds ?

    Wages .. that’s the unknown I reckon

Likes Liam Vs Gets on pretty well with Warne

Relocation and the adventure and moving your career on .. I am dubious that Hull offers that much

So if he wants to go then it has to be wages .. he’s going to get noticed a least as much here as their

Can we offer a decent enough new contract that suits everyone ?

Does he like it here or is he agitating for a move ?

There really is so much we just don’t know. Anyway, not getting in to valuations in this market. He’s a valuable player to the team and difficult to replace, rather than simply a paper asset figure.

please Max .. sign a new deal !

If he goes it will be 100% wages,if you believe what is reported at present he is on 7K a week,Hull are reportedly offering £20-25K a week

Agree with you that Hull is no more than a mid table team and you can say the same in Knight going to Bristol, but its a stepping stone up as it stands and we have no right to think we will get promoted this season in the first place

Even if we do offer a extension to his deal i doubt we can anywhere close to what being put on the table at Hull

  15. 14 hours ago, RoyMac5 said:

Not if we offer him a contract, we'll get money for developing him.

The only way he goes is if he wants to I guess. But why would you want to go to Hull and probably play CDM?

Yes we could but even if we did it would be no were near what Hull are offering in terms of wages and we are still one division lower, same thing as Knight went for better money and we got a fee,

  16. 19 minutes ago, RoyMac5 said:

There's nothing to be gained by letting him go, fullstop. But not at piddly prices, need Championship selling money. He's starting to look the real deal - we need him.

Looked our best player so far in Pre season for sure ,the problem we have he as 1 year left on his contract and if the reports on his wage are true at present he is on around 7K a week, Hull will look to at least treble that circa 20-25K a week so if the transfer does not happen we will end up with a unhappy bunny in our team and then able to go on a freebie next summer

These are the problems we find ourselves in

    Timing is everything.

If you had asked many fans a few weeks ago when we were active in the market and making promising and shrewd looking moves, they likely would have been in favour of Bird moving on and getting a fresh start.

Our midfield does need a shake up.

But at the moment, at a time when our business has ground to a halt and the recruitment team appear to have exhausted all avenues, it will raise concerns that another important player is on their way out and we don’t seem to have a succession plan in place.

I have been quite relaxed so far, but today this news is the first sign of concern for me.

Yes i have to agree with you,we are days away from the start of a new season and if the rumors are true then Birds head will of been turned already and getting in a replacement or replacements become even harder

This sadly is were we are as a club having to sell our better players,i see ourselves as way bigger club than both Bristol City and Hull City yet they have both come calling.

Will Warne be allowed to spend any incoming money on players or are we still watching the purse strings, yes concerning
