If i remember  rightly Derby were stopped from wearing this when we were in the premier league because the opposition said it was to similar to the referees colours.
Still have mine at home with Stimac 6 on the back ?

or if he wasn't the captain or if he'd not got himself seriously injured or if he'd put a seat belt on

Imagine if he had got a taxi home at 8pm!
He'd have probably been The Championship Player of the Month for October.

Someone could've literally took the money out of Frank Lampard's wallet and he'd never have noticed.

It can't be that easy to walk the tightrope between being captain of a team and finding yourself accused of 'Player Power Politics'
Are you one of the lads or a management spy?
    "Responsibility without authority is hell."
Richard has a proven track record over the years....true!
He can no longer fulfil the terms of his contract......true!
He seems to have turned down an offer amounting to massively more than I, and one or two others perhaps, could even dream of were we to be injured at work. (Regardless of any issue of due care and diligence).
    Has he been sacked?
Is he a scapegoat for the whole episode?
I understand that he has not been charged with any offence and did not even get a notice of intended prosecution.
Both he and the Club will be walking a legal tightrope and, yes I wish him well but, He will not be helped by any of us sitting as barrack room lawyers!

Like I say... "ONE MILLION PERCENT"!
... And you've been paying this guy, have you Richard?  Oh!

Some of the comments on here are just ridiculous plain and simple.
Can't people get it into their heads the reason he was sacked?
Some on here have now turned into ducking Quincy ( a medical examiner tv show for those kids out there).
I was one of Keoghs biggest fans and couldn't believe the stick this bloke has had to take over the years.
BUT, HE refused to go home when the majority of the players had sense to do so and kept on drinking.
HE, then got into a car where the driver was with him all night also drinking!! (what, you think Lawrence had 2 pints then went on J20's for the rest of the ducking night) FFS.
HE was offered a taxi and refused.
He was offered a reduced contract to stay at the club, HE REFUSED. The club have then every right to sack him through GM as he is unable to continue what he was contracted to do. If any one of us was on a fixed contract to do a job and we did something like this and wasn't able to continue working for 15 months do you really think your employers would even offer a new contract to you?.. NOT A CHANCE!!, you'd be sacked.
Trying to tie in Lawrence and Bennett doesn't work, yes they were stupid but even they had the brains to put the belt on. They have been charged to the full extent the law allows and punished by the club. They can still carry on what they are contracted to do, Keogh can't. All 3/4 were stupid, only Keogh was more stupid and it's cost him his job.
Folks trying to defend him, saying we don't know what happened, no we prob don't know the whole truth and on that basis how do you know Keogh wasn't pissing about in the back and caused Lawrence to crash??, it works both ways you know.

If you read between the lines on the whole sorry saga, Lawrence has some value, Keogh has none and Bennett is worth about 46p.
Come January all will be revealed, that’s my take on it anyway.

Technically, it appears he has broken the law, by not wearing a seat belt, but seeing as no charges have been brought (as yet), "I'll give you that one"... No he hasn't broken the law.
We don't know whether he has broken any club rules or not... that is why this whole thread is going around in circles... and I'm as guilty as anyone for contributing!
Also, we don't know that the accident "wasn't his fault".  A flick of the tab here.  A yank of the hair there.  What appears to be a bit of a jape to a drunken back seat passenger can soon become a dangerous distraction to a driver... sober or otherwise!  Now, I appreciate nothing of that ilk came out in court, but imagine if that was the story subsequently being fed by the driver and/or the front passenger to the club... during the investigation...off the record, so to speak.
I reiterate, we just don't know the facts leading to this reduced contract offer, and the subsequent dismissal, so none of us can say that Keogh has been fairly or unfairly treated!
Hypothetically... I would imagine... without any personal insight into law and/or employment law... that if Keogh had reported to work with his leg in a clamp, unable to play for the next 15 months, and it transpired that the cause was due to him knowingly (drunkenly or otherwise) accepting a lift (or demanding one!) from a driver that was subsequently charged and punished for drink driving... regardless of whether that driver was a work colleague, a spouse, a secret lesbian lover, or a contortionist from Venezuela... then yes, I do believe the outcome would have been the same!

I heard Keogh told Bennett to rush home and return with a wheelbarrow (so they could wheel Keogh away) and Lawrence to run to the nearby petrol station to pick up a few bottles of beer. When Bennett arrived back at his house he realized he didn't own a wheelbarrow, so gave Lawrence a call to see if he had one. The petrol station shop was also closed so Lawrence couldn't buy the beers either. They both returned to the crash site empty handed much to the frustration of Keogh.

For everyone slating the club about morals, this keogh decision was not about that. The incident was a police matter and so it has been dealt with by the police. Nothing the club can really do. The decision to sack Keogh was purely a business decision that makes perfect sense. Why should the club continue to pay a ridiculous amounts of money to a person who won't be playing for another year. Now there must be more to this than meets the eye but they offered him a contract on reduced wages and he declined. The club has been put in a difficult situation here, I don't see what they could have done differently.

Well obviously, because the other 2 involved can still play football and earn a living where as the other cannot.  Hence why are they involved and the other isn't.

Another very special shirt that has been rescued and given a full clean and restoration, I’ve got to say I am well pleased with what I’ve done, it had been left to die but now will have a new lease of life, this is the only shirt owned by Derby County believe it or not, it had three inch nails going right through it and had been held in place with rusty industrial staples, full of holes and rust.
i have fully restored it and got it ready for reframing
i am proud to say that it will be going in pride of place in the new captains club at Pride Park.
Archie Gemmill’s 1975 Charity Shield no 8 shirt.

They were, in glorous false leg pink.
Archie Gemmill used to pop into Jordan and Fitch in Littleover village and park his outside, only problem was it was a blue one with his name on the side that he got as part of signing for Brum. I remember Gerry Daly (strangely with Billy Hughes in the passenger seat) just about getting his bricked in as he drove it to the Baseball Ground after he'd signed for Coventry. That one was sky blue of course.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, wrote stories of unrequited love like Pete Shelley. His three minutes anthems are like lines through my life. Saw them as recently as last summer, they were still as truly brilliant as ever. You'll be missed.
