Now they’re asking on Twitter for content on the DCFC website to be removed from 2 years ago regarding his award at the Telegraph sports awards. This trend for rewriting history is nonsense. Just stop it please.

    Pah. Pathetic.
Wouldn't be part of such a scheme.
Don't want Derby County's name to be associated with such a scheme. Put your own names to it, you don't speak for Derby fans en mass!

Count me out. This is just pure revenge and we ought to be better than that, apart from the fact that it would do nothing to benefit Derby County.
It’s not going to happen anyway.

Bear in mind Mel still owns the stadium and in consequence, whether we like it or not, we're still dependent on his goodwill to complete the successful transition to new ownership. If he's looking for an excuse to say duck it, this is exactly the kind of thing that could give him it....

Just saying. If on the sliding doors theme, Frank Lampard has selected a more adventurous team at Wembley we might have still been singing “He’s One of Our Own”.
MM gambled and we all lost.
If the double 6 had landed he would have been lauded but it didn’t.
He is no doubt as devastated as us and maybe he should have sold every last asset to keep us afloat, but I suspect most on here would not have done in similar situation.
Bottom line he screwed up massively but probably with good intentions at the time.

Disgusting. We’re all smarting from what’s happened but being vindictive is just pathetic. As has been mentioned, he donated to charities to the tune of millions and to local hospitals.
Surely, as a fan base, we’re better than this?

Actually I don't think EFL are entitled to insist on straight line amortisation. There is nothing in their rules that allows then to do that.
But really i wouldnt give a figgy which method the EFL insisted on. If they had insisted on straight line in 2016 then fair enough. But then letting us adopt something else and then charging us four years later for using a different one, and then penalising us again for overspending as a result, well that is just ridiculous in my view.

Can we all just once and for all collectively declare our contempt for Mel and move on unless there is an actual development or something to discuss? It's getting a bit boring now.

It’s been an interesting week.  Our club has had a few sliding doors moments in the past (Sir Brian leaving, Charlie George’s shoulder, Zamora, etc) but looking back how important were the injuries to John Eustace and Chris Martin in 2014/15?  Without those we would arguably have achieved automatic promotion, Mel would have bought a PL team, no FFP issues even if we’d have come down.
Even Thorne’s injury against Ipswich on the last day of the following season.  Again, without that the big spending may have paid off.
Instead we’re staring at League 1 - which could turn out to be a good thing in the long run although it might not feel like it now.
Life’s all about fine margins.  In years to come we’ll have sliding doors moments that go in our favour.

Yes but we have no idea what his involvement has been in the negotiations.
I think in general he has tried to help Derby County but his judgment has been flawed in many areas. Doesn’t mean the current position doesn’t hurt him or that he isn’t trying to help.
There’s too much hatred circulating at the moment.
Let’s use our energy to support the team. Every game is an end of season party!

So you don’t think he should write off the money he is owed. Or sell PPS at a discount to help with sale of club? An anti Morris chant right now would seem very bad timing.

Looking forward to bringing Centre Back Cashin in to the first team squad - it’s a tragedy that his progress has been stalled.
Definitely need a new keeper - Roos needs to move on - Allsop will do for squad cover. Marshall will be gone too.
Byrne - sorry , I don’t rate him - his first job is to defend and he just doesn’t. We have young blood behind him that need to be given to chance to develop in the first team.
Jozwiak - hopefully we can sell him - clearly is a talented lad, but just didn’t fit the English game .
M my Lawrence - I’ll drive him myself to any destination that will have him, even anywhere in Europe if they are daft enough to offer him a contract. For me he’s an embarrassment to wear a Derby shirt.
I’d like to think we can keep Belik, but he may wish to leave and his wages v potential injury is a big issue.
Need to try and keep Shinnie, Bird, Sibley if we can.
Knight will go for hopefully big money - £5m+ hopefully.
Think we’ll sell Buchannan too for £2-3m.
id keep CKR, as I think he’ll be great in Div 1 for 1-2 seasons.

Whether Stretton is up for Div 1 is up for debate, but we definitely need 2 more Strikers.
Baldock isn’t good enough at any level imo.

I suppose it all depends on players Agents and new owners willingness to under write and debt levels/payments as required by Administrators to come out if Administration and purchase the club.

I think we definitely need to keep Rooney, as I genuinely think he wants to stay at the club and build it back to where it should be. Also I think it suits him geographically, in relation to travelling from his home and his family life.

im quite looking forward to Div 1 - it was an absolute blast back in the 80’s !! ??

We've been in The Championship for 13 years now I think. When we were challenging it was good but lets be honest, the last 3 seasons have been rubbish.
I'm more than happy to be in a division where hopefully we will score more goals, win more games, get to go to some new grounds and have a lot higher percentage of our games played at 3pm on a Saturday, which is when football was made for.

It's a fact that the EFL didn't prescribe what form of Amortisation clubs should use. It's reasonable to believe that DCFC should have had their change of Amortisation method approved officially by the EFL prior to applying it. But it's also reasonable to believe that because the method to be used was open to interpretation, the consequences for DCFC should have been more proportionate than 18 months of embargo, more than 2 years of uncertainty, denial of pandemic relief funds, loss of potential take-over transactions, and ultimately Administration and potential liquidation.
Some posters are concerned about the lack of balance on here, fair enough, but where's the balance in the reporting of the issues outside of here?

GB SPORTS reacted to San Fran Van Rams in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
I agree - it was to form an advantage. But that's not to say forming that advantage wasn't allowed... the rules are the rules and we did not break the rules other than to not properly disclose our method. I have seem no evidence that our policy contravenes FRS102 which is the charge that has resulted in this 9 point deduction and 3 point suspended deduction sanction. We've then been further punished for trying to prove our innocence.
If the EFL want a principles based regulation, they should implement a principle based regulation. They haven't. Its rules based, which they then flex and change based on their agenda.
