I would feel shafted by Mel Morris. And do. If EFL had a proper licencing system then penalties could be applied against the (former) owners, not the club.  Punishing the club now is punishing the creditors, and is counter productive.  Plus we have already had a 12 point penalty, which given the mitigating circumstances of the pandemic is already more than enough.  

If we cannot pay creditors at least 25p in the £1 that is a sorry state of affairs, that's true.

Even if Mel came back and a few of you decided not to support the club anymore, go to matches or whatever......presumably the club would still survive. After a few years, Mel would be gone permanently but the club would still survive.
Players, managers, owners all come and go - always have, always will - but the club must still survive. The club must remain.
Liquidation may be the end of the club.

I have seen these rumours floating around. But if Morris is prepared to be involved in a debt for equity swap, can he not also be persuaded to sell his equity stake? Any involvment by him (even as s sleeping investment) will be unpalatable for some.

I think it's best not to get anxious or angry about something that may be nothing more than an Internet rumour. We've got enough to be anxious and angry about as it is.

6.05 pm - The Sun news desk reads this forum, asks an intern to do some digging, and asks them to write up a story after they've listened to George's voicemail.
7.00pm - After a private investigator hacks into the Mickleover Court Hotel booking system, they see that the Gary Teale, Ikechi Anya and Derek Hales suites have been block booked by the same LA Based travel agent, along with the Giles Barnes conference room for tomorrow.
10.00pm - The Sun runs with its Hollywood Consortium story, while Pride Park is turned into the Nespresso Bowl overnight.
 
 

I've had the pleasure of "meeting" @i-Ram on forum zoom meetings. I can confirm that he does have a striking resemblance of George. I didn't have the pleasure of meeting his wife however, so can't confirm that she looks like Mildred.
 

Hey! We had several at the beginning of this season.

What the **** have Q actually been doing all this time it's beyond a joke now especially if we end up with a deal that lands us with a points deduction, we've lost x amount of players too while they've dragged their feet lining their fat pockets.
How hard is it to work out the debt, what needs to be paid and find out how much money three bidders have, should be weeks work not months. 

This. It's long been documented that Mel is not a well man, which has been one reason he tried hard to find a buyer for the club. I know we need something to talk about on this thread while we continue the interminable wait for news, but he ain't coming back.

If it means the club being bought imminently, I can live with it. Not exactly what we all wanted but the cost of funding a League One side is going to be far less than the reputed £15-20m gap between bids & Quantuma's asking price (I am assuming here £50m is the threshold to satisfy the 25% unsecured creditors EFL rule to avoid a 15 point penalty and keep Morris/MSD happy)

Once bids are submitted tomorrow, Quantuma will assess those bids and discuss them over the weekend. Please don't confuse the assessing of bids with the assessing that has reportedly been taking place for the last 4 weeks since bids were submitted 4 weeks ago, as these are two totally different things.
Once discussed, quantuma hope to identify a PB and will present that to the EFL.

They wanted that done last season, with us starting this season in League One with the points deducted.
I don't think one relegation is enough for them tbh, and the talk (however loosely based in reality, it hasn't come out of nowhere) of  letting us start again in League Two shows where they want us IMO.

At least some sensible posts amongst the last 20hrs. The wording from Monday's mtg never said it would be announced, just interpretation,  surprised it took 3 days for the penny to drop with the journalists,  they are normally so good at usage of vocabulary to sensationalise things and report without actually having 'facts' to back up a story.
Anyway, what difference does another week make in the grand scheme of things?

I like Frank, he's a man with a lot of integrity. He did not 'throw' the final although I think it was pretty clear he would be going to Chelsea. I don't really understand why some people have a problem with Lampard, we had a great season with him. I don't blame him one bit for leaving, he's a club legend at Chelsea.
