All credit to PW. There’s nothing more frustrating than seeing fine player playing in the wrong position. We’ve seen it with Knight, Sibley, Bird - all youngsters who should be improving rapidly. If you get your 3 or 4 best players playing in their best positions surely that’s better than ramming them into some system or other. Build the system around your best players. Onwards ...

Paul Warne at his first presser:
"I want to press, I want to get the ball back high, I want to stop counter-attacks, keep attacks going and for that you have to press, you have to be athletic but fundamentally you have to be really good on the ball and I think the lads have been really conducive to what we’re trying to do."
Athletic and a high press, being good on the ball and keeping attacks going are exactly how I want us to play. Let's hope we'll start seeing this on Saturday. We saw this sometimes under Lampard. I remember the Marriott goal at Old Trafford was the inevitable result of incessant pressure - we were unstoppable. They couldn't live with the waves of attacks.
I don't want to see us with the ball around the opposition box only to try to funnel it back to Wildsmith to start again. I don't want to see freekicks in the opposition half get funnelled back to Wildsmith to start again. Ditto throw-ins. If we're to be promoted we have to start looking in the right direction.

I tried not updating my apple phone for a long time and then it stopped working , took it to the apple shop and they said aha you haven't updated your phone, and they fixed it by downloading the latest update. Maybe it's an apple thing, but I got similar from the IT people at work ... "what's this you haven't updated your PC in months and you still expect your PC to work"?

You can't say that as no one knows.
What is acceptable to quote as a fact is the number of games away from home when we didn't score.
Everything else is just pure speculation and conjecture.

Contract until 2026, his staff joining too, article thanks Rosenior and gives some rationale for decision but doesn’t make it clear if LR is gone.

Most if not all on here said at the start of the season League1 is a tough division, Fast and physical, LRs approach was different, Gets players in with a little pedigree, Plays a rigid formation that dictates how much possession we'll have, Unfortunately, And in LRs words we've been watched and the opposition have worked us out, Well I was dumbfounded, Fancy a team watching another team to find out how they play.
If Warne has been offered the job and if Warne accepts the job, The game plan will be different, They play a mix of fast pace and pressure teams into making mistakes, Get balls into the box with players waiting for the crosses, Instead of keeping the ball, Letting the opposition re set their defence who then break fast and put us under pressure and score.
There's not a person on this planet who knows what the outcome will be if Warne takes over, If he does he'll get my support as LR did.

Well, I'm certainly rather happy about this, if many others seem apoplectic.
Everyone continues to stress how much of a 'nice guy' Liam was and yet Millers fans would say exactly the same about Warne. Regardless, being "nice" doesn't make one a good manager. I'd also argue that Rosenior didn't convince me with the way he spoke about the game, as others suggest he did for them.
Also, whilst we could agree that LR was learning, I'd argue it was too slowly. That sounds laughable considering how short a stint he has had as interim manager but he himself has vehemently defended the pathetic decision to fanny about at the back. He was proud of it, yet it couldn't be more clear that this was a foolish move. That is gravely concerning, in regards to LR's future as a competent manager. PW has learned well and Rotherham fans mostly adore him.
Fans will always find things to moan about but so many have been so right in pointing out our failings and imbalances this season and yet a stubborn LR persisted with poor team structures and naive tactical decisions. Again, nothing here shows LR will make a good manager.
So, we come to 'style of play' and I feel we've been quite unanimous in thinking that although we've shown brilliance at times this season, we've played the ball too slowly and predictably too often. Again, in an early interview, LR said we needed to be "more patient" (MORE?!).
For what it's worth, whilst Rotherham tend to play direct, their passages of play can vary and there are many Rotherham fans saying they liked the football their team displayed. I'd take only conceding 11 goals away all season in League 1, as Rotherham did. We might steal some wins away from home then ?
But in all seriousness, I hope this has been agreed (allegedly we approached PW before their game against Boro) and he brings his backroom staff too. Onwards and upwards. I'm even more excited for the rest of the season now. Bring it on!

I remember how utterly disenchanted I was at the time with the appointments of Brian Clough and, three decades later, Jim Smith.
"Not big enough for Derby County" went through my mind over both OBE and TBE.
    The same thoughts now.
    Same results please.

For me it’s vital to get Knight back in midfield.
His energy is crucial going forward.
I enjoyed the game against Wycombe so much because the shape was right even though it took a while to get used to for the players.
Curtis looks a bit rusty at the moms which is understandable after injury

LR said we need to be more adventuress or words to that effect, The switch allowed CH to be more advanced where in games before he would play a more defensive role, NML was pivotal in getting forward, Plenty of space he "could have used", Shout out for Sibley with his week shot that bounced off their defender into the path of CH, We looked a team rather than a mix and match after the changes.
I got a little angry the last few mins as we should have used the game management ploy ie taking the ball into their corners, But no we sat back and let their keeper kick long balls.
Awful team are these fother muckers to watch, The most "beautiful manager in football...Ainsworth" had it stuck up him, They don't like it stuck up em, Couhig take that you asswipe ?

I’m apprehensive to see the team sheet at 2 o clock. If we see Bird, Hourihane and no Oduroh I’ll be really disheartened that he’s not learning from repeat bad performances and will persist with something that clearly doesn’t work.

I'm heartened Rosenior says we're not taking enough risks.
I'm horrified he says things are OK because our Expected Goals (xG) stats look fine.
I'm perplexed he says we need more energy in the team.
A forward-thinking midfield duo of Knight and Sibley solves all his problems. Why doesn't he see it?
