Pretty much agree with you except I would have Roos in goal.

I think most of us do but, sadly, it only takes a handful of noisy folk to express their frustration to make it sound like a lot.
A few things are certain: Regardless of the result, regardless of the performance, I will not be booing the team, Mel or Rooney. I won’t join in any “witty” songs about Rooney and I won’t be leaving early. I rather suspect (and hope) the majority will react the same.
That doesn’t make me a better fan (I’ll do plenty of grumbling and moaning to myself) or mean I don’t blame Mel or that I rate Rooney but I’ll do my best to support the team and accept the fact that Rooney is doing the best he is capable of and Mel is doing his best to sell the club.

I think 1-0 down and things being ugly will largely depend on the team. If it's as young as Sunday's friendly, i don't think it will. But it Captain Tom decides to chip a penalty down the middle to a keeper who just stands there... then maybe it could get ugly.
But that's nothing new, the players that have always had stick will continue to receive it. If Bird dares pass sideways he'll have the moans and groans, if Roos doesn't claim a corner he'll have the moans and groans, if Forsyth misplaces a pass etc etc.
Can never understand why people don't just get behind players.

I think going 1-0 down can happen to any team but doesn’t mean the game is lost .
The fans need to be patient this season.

Get some perspective bud. Think of the context in which he's operating. Think of the money he's spent chasing our dreams.
You'll never forgive him? You want him booed? Poor show IMO.

I have never booed anyone at a football match - it achieves nothing and wouldn’t give me a sense of enormous well being - get behind the lads as the crowd are worth an extra 8 points a season usually

No other club is being hounded to death and restricted from bringing in players as a result of an 18 month vendetta against them despite not actually breaking any set-in-stone rules.
Most of our issues are a a direct result of being held guilty for a year of something we were found innocent of, and then found guilty (at the second, long delayed attempt) by decree of opinion (not law, not even based on any written rule) of a second charge, coupled with ill health leading to a reassessment of priorities.
If we were allowed to operate freely and spend money we would have done, we wouldn't be in this situation if we weren't being treated with the utmost hypocrisy by an organisation which demands everything is explained in detail to them (well, they do now, they weren't bothered 3 years ago) and yet makes up new rules without any justification or explanation at the drop a hat.
Mistakes have been made of course, but it's football and most things go tits up unless you happen to have a massive dollop of luck along the way.
It's funny just how many mistakes get covered over and never talked about by virtue of just one thing going right and vice versa
By all means shout your arse out about how much you hate Mel, I suspect you're more likely to find the people around you telling you to shut the duck up than join in with you, but we'll see.

As someone said, we have waited seventeen months to see a live competitive Derby County game.
I am really looking forward to it and I certainly won't be wasting any energy on booing anybody.

    The team.
    1) It means the EFL won’t register any of the trialists
    or
    2) Message to the board
    or
    3) Just wants to give some minutes to players that will make up the squad, signing trialists or not.
    or
3a) This could always have been the plan
Either way, we won’t know until Rooney talks to the media after the game, we will know in a couple of hours. I’m looking forward to seeing how the team gets on today, maybe I’m weird but some of these players are considered to be our future, how do you know they are ready if you don’t give them a chance?
We don’t want them to play cup games, we don’t want them to play pre season games whilst sitting here saying how great our academy is.
As a regular watcher and someone that’s attended a few U23 games, it’s become a more interesting afternoon.
This is their big chance to show Rooney they are ready and answer the questions we all have IF no trialists are registered.
Apologies for not slamming the club here.

After the unexpected lightness of sprit brought about by the Real Betis match, lets get back to some proper doom and gloom.
I'm going for a 1-0 loss with Tom Lawrence getting a 6-8 week injury.

As you must have seen, there is some anger towards to the EFL, but the more vocal anger is aimed at Mel and Pearce.
Now if you go right back to the start, why did we spend so much money it was to compete with the teams at the top that were receiving the anti competitive parachute payments.
Where did our relationship with the EFL go wrong? Mel trying to get them to understand the value of their product when negotiating with Sky for the TV deals. Something which would have helped all EFL clubs.
I’m not saying no mistakes have been made, it’s not all the EFL’s fault but all intentions were made with improving the  EFL and ambition to be in the Premier League.
The reason I’m not jumping on the hate the club bandwagon is simple, I was happy at the time, thought it was great fighting for promotion, loved having Lampard here, Mount, Wilson, Tomori and for me, aside from the Jim Smith era this has been the best longest periods where I’ve loved watching us play.
Hindsight, yeah let’s not sign Butterfield, Johnson, Anya etc. Let’s not employ Nigel Pearson and Paul Clement but here we are, no time for tears, we need to dust ourselves down and rebuild to go again.
It will happen, not overnight but it will happen.

I don’t see how the EFL can let us start the season without letting us registering anymore players.
The profit and sustainability rules are there to protect clubs, but right now the EFL is actively working to make us not have a competitive team.
That’s not right. We have an embargo for not paying HMRC, to me this has nothing to do with the EFL, HMRC will take us to court when we’ve failed to meet enough deadlines.
I can understand an embargo for failing to pay transfer instalments as this is a transaction between it’s member clubs, makes total sense but not HMRC.
Other clubs will be looking on and be concerned, I’m sure of it, they will be thinking this could be us next having to deal with the EFL making the rules up as they go along.
Say what you like about our wrongdoings, but that does not mean that the EFL doesn’t need a overhaul from top to bottom.

You say laughing stock, but all clubs are laughing stocks for whatever reason.
We laughed for years when Fawaz was at Forest.
    We laugh when Forest lose.
We laugh when Leeds get knocked out of the cup.
We laugh we Wycombe try to push for a points deduction to be applied immediately as they wasn’t good enough to stay up.
I’m laughing at Man City spending £100m on Jack Grealish.
I mean if you don’t like being part of a club that’s laughed at, football isn’t for you.
Honestly couldn’t care less if Boro, Leeds, Bristol City and Forest fans are all laughing at us. Not one bit.

I would agree with all apart from Baldock. I would swap with Aluko. He has shown something we havent had in a while, the ability to take someone on. I think worse case scenario from this, Aluko or Lawerence could play upfront if CKR or Stretton are unavailable.
