Millenniumram got a reaction from RAM1966 in Public Apology Required
You’ll be waiting an awful long time. Mel Morris doesn’t give a duck about Derby County, and he certainly doesn’t give a damn about us

You can still avoid 10 away defeats on the spin with our current squad. The disparity in home and away form suggests it’s not just the quality of players affecting us away from home.

Millenniumram reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Wayne Rooney
Nice dig at Morris without being ungracious. Full of admiration for Rooney after this season, Mel left behind an absolute dumpster fire for the admins and Rooney to clean up. The admins part in this I’ll leave comments for another day, Rooney however has been unreal in his leadership, patience, diplomacy and loyalty throughout. ? ?

Not in my view, I was delighted when we sold him. Made an impact one in 10 games - not a disaster for a winger, but for a midfielder, not good enough.
Bryson and Hughes were always the better combo.

Agree to disagree then. He’s also always been a bit of a bamford, from what I’ve heard.

This is a strange one, Our home form is up there with the better teams, Our away form has been a disaster, Away support has been 1st class, But to be having play so many youngsters when away from home has had a negative effect...imo, We need mentally tough experienced players next season with a sprinkling of youth, They've all been a credit to themselves, The fans and DCFC, The work starts if/when CK buys us.

Conveniently ignore the rest of the post then…
No one blames the players for going down, I expecting nothing better than this outcome. But Rooney does need to do something tactically different away from home in my view. The home form has been far better than you’d expect, which makes the away form quite bizzare.

Millenniumram got a reaction from Caerphilly Ram in Rooney, staff and squad: legends
Hear hear. The result is the inevitable one when you have all those points deducted and a paper thin squad - relegation. But that isn’t the fault of the current players or manager. This relegation is purely on the head of a certain Mel Morris. Everyone at the club has done us proud on the pitch this season. To keep fighting as long as they have done is remarkable. I’ve certainly not felt a Derby team has cared this much in a long time.

Which is exactly what I said. Doesn’t change the fact that away from really needs sorting out though for next season.

10 away defeats on the spin… you can forget your points deductions, that’s just pathetic really. You don’t stay up like that.
That said, relegation was always inevitable irrespective because of Mel Morris. Painful for it to be confirmed, though it was really over after Coventry a few weeks back IMO.

Think this season came a year too early for him personally. Not his fault of course, but he was thrown in the deep end in the Championship before he was really ready, due to our circumstances. Don’t think the formation has helped him really either - 4231 doesn’t suit him, he needs to playing a terrier sort of role in a 433.
He’s one of few I expect to stay next season, and I think he’ll be far more comfortable in League One.
