Or mistaking a nostalgic and slightly patronising "ah, that's nice, notts forest get a season in the top flight, remember Brian Clough, he was a character." for "forest are massive and belonging at the top table " requires some willful delusion.

I think they’re really struggling with the fact that people outside of Nottinghamshire just can’t see that they’re massive, must be frustrating for them that people are so blind to the obvious. They play at the “world famous” city ground after all.

The article reads like Percy the fan has written it, rather than Percy the journalist.
If he seriously believes that Lingard turned down a bigger club with better prospects AND more money to join Notts Forest, then I don't really know what to say ?

I take your point on most of those (not sure about numbers for some you've quoted though) and it's great for people who's lifestyle allows them to attend allot of away games, but I'm just a bit wary of the club making going to away games a closed shop for those with the commitment and circumstances to attend them regularly.

Royces are not going to sponsor our shirts for the same reason they don't advertise on ITV during Emmerdale.

In due course, it would be interesting to know if anyone who has a Membership and 5 or more games to their credit missed out on a ticket when they wanted one. That'd be a useful guide to whether the policy has been fair or not.
The club may have to amend it slightly anyway, because how can anyone build up credits this season to qualify for one of the priority groups if they can't get hold of tickets? Support shouldn't be a closed shop, so maybe a ballot system for perhaps 20% of all tickets where the allocation is below, say, 2000 would be worth considering.

Alright Rams, Guiseley (who?) fan here in peace.
I came to the Oxford game on Saturday with my mate (Wolves fan).
It was our first trip to Pride Park between us and usually we pick a random game every so often. So we ended up at your place.
We had a great time, your stadium is fantastic. Plenty of eateries around the ground too. The fans we were sat near were passionate and it was infectious. We were in the North Stand which was family orientated but it was nice to see so many youngsters getting behind the team.
The atmosphere was great, the bounce by the south stand was something I won't forget. Capped with a great goal to get the win aswell.
Only downside being, we parked at the industrial park past the south stand and we didn't move for about an hour after the final whistle. But that didn't spoil a great day out.
All the best for the season, will be looking out for your results and will likely come back later in the season too.

It is ridiculous. The mass and drag coefficient of a plastic bottle top would make it virtually impossible to throw to the touch line, never mind hit a player without some hugely complex apparatus or explosive device. Even a clever catapult would struggle. There’s just too much drag. You can wander in to the ground with a pocket full of coins that are far more dangerous. So .. why do they do it ? Have I missed something ? I simply wouldn’t  buy water in the ground and suspect I am not alone. It’s lost revenue for the club for no gain at all.

it’s a slow news day, and just had Sunday dinner, hence this daft post ?

It was really nice seeing so many Derby and Oxford fans intermingling at the Smithfield pre match with zero issues (that I saw anyway). Hopefully a nice side affect of being in League One with no ‘history’ with most of the teams we’ll play - long may it continue!

I couldn’t get to the game yesterday but from what I’ve read sounded quite the occasion which both sets of supporters contributed to. I’ve also seen a lot of love on Twitter for Derby fans from Oxford, praising the atmosphere and noise saying we’re a proper club and they wish us well. Not seen such an outpouring of positive emotion towards us from an opposition set of fans for many a year. Exactly as it should be. I hope more visiting clubs will be like Oxford .

Wednesday fans are hilarious. Their club committed blatant accounts fraud and were let off with a punishment that basically said "they didn't mean it" when only a soppy mug would believe that. But they think what we did was worse.

That was a s*** one.  Stubbs last appearance.  Think he made about 3 for those 10 months wages.  Fair play to him getting back on a pitch after his serious health issues but another expensive signing of Jewells in terms of wages that was never going to bear fruit.

This is a good move for all parties. It’s ok Watford being in for him but he has to play, Watford have a reasonable squad already having come from the premier league, they may want to ease him in. At Birmingham he will play every game because they can’t afford not to play him.

We get him off the wage bill enabling us to sign players, and Bielik either does well and we sell him on to a better club than Birmingham or we get him back for the championship if we can get the job done this year.

Just heard Joe Worrall on talksport. He’s more deluded than some of the weapons on Twitter. Were you surprised when you signed Jesse Lingard, Worrall replies with something to the effect of - we’re a club that’s had several international players, players like Stuart Pearce, Des Walker, Peter Shilton, international icons, we should be signing players of that Calibre to get back to where we belong.

I don't think there has been a direct quote from Kristian about not wanting to play in League 1. There was a quote from the Poland manager saying he needed to be playing in a higher league to be considered for a world cup squad spot and I'm sure his agent has been trying to make a move happen.
However, KB is going into training and doing what is asked by LR and the coaching staff. We shouldn't be led to think he's demanding a move due to a Turkish journalists translated tweet. He's showing more professionalism than Byrne and I'd be happy if he plays a part for us this season.
