That's bit rich coming from a supporter of a club who avoided bankrupcy by bullying some of their long standing playersinto ripping up their  ontracts, resulting in some cases in bankrupcy and the end of their careers.

A reminder of what the EFL are appealing...
The second charge (amortisation) was split up into 5 particulars.

    1. The EFL withdraw the first particular,  so nothing to look into.
    2. This is not in contradiction to the financial standard FRS102
    3. As per the 2nd particular
    4. Unreliability in estimating a player's value does not mean the policy contradicts FRS102.
    5. Inadequate disclosure is punishable. As it doesn't impact passing/failing P&S, it is impossible to receive a points penalty against this particular.

Pretty much exactly what I feared RE the EFL fit and proper test. Seemed to be taking much longer than I’d expect ( think even Sheikh Khaled was cleared in a day and he didn’t have a penny!) so something is clearly up. I suspected that Alonso was being coy about his potential backers because there might be something dodgy about them, and it seems that is indeed what the EFL are investigating. Given it’s gone on this long, I’m starting to think they’re actually going to turn him down, which is almost unprecedented for the “fit and proper” test! Probably good news as I wouldn’t feel this club is in safe hands with a man associated with Matt Southall, but equally it’s not in safe hands with Mel. He’ll sell to any charlatan who makes an offer, so God knows who the next bid will be accepted from!

Nobody wants this to be a failure but many people do care about things away from the pitch. And why shouldn't they? It's certyainly not pathetic to ask questions. I would still like to have a club to support long after this new lot have gone the way of Gadsby, Capn Bob, Lionel, GSE et al.

If you don't know about where the finance is coming from how can you possibly know if the club is stable, secure and debt free or up to its eyeballs in loans and about to go bankrupt? Given our recent history with owners I'm surprised by your attitude tbh.

I'd have thought only caring about what goes on on the pitch is an attitude that has been a significant contributing factor to the current state of the club.

There’s been a suggestion that he stood for election in Spain for the Vox Party, who I believe are a far-right group:

Mate I’m not sure Rooney deserves flak for anything.

You can only play 11 at any  one time and use 5 substitutes.
Sibley scored a great goal last night but the build up started on our left hand side with Lawrence having a big part with I think Shinnie and the cross looped in the air amongst competing players and came to Roberts who did very well and Sibley did the rest
Now the system change from Rooney at half time really worked with a 3 including Mengi who did great .
The first goal was well worked by Knight ,CKR and Byrne with a lovely finish from Gregory.
It came off for Sibley last night as a 10 and long may it continue but all the players deserve credit
Rooney and the coaching team have us in a position of safety from bottom of the league to where we are now
Once gain well done to  Sibley who played  with a maturity and a really controlled display .
I hope Rooney and the coaching team continue to learn as do the players
I think Louie can be well pleased but the other young players also can learn as he has and  keep working hard .
PS Thought Watson did ok but Bird also needs an arm around the shoulder now and again as will Buchanan.
Being a professional footballer is not easy and I would never know as I wasn’t good enough to achieve that level
Rooney I hasten to add was a fantastic player and players need to listen and learn from him .
Rooney has made mistakes and he probably knows that but I’d say he is on the right track given backing from the club
Once again well done as a 10 Louie Sibley

Seems a bit unfair to criticise a manager for publicly giving a player a kick up the arse, then not giving him any credit when said player delivers next game. Looks like Rooney got his man management spot on in that regard.

I want every player that’s not in the team to be frustrated.
I want every player that’s not in the team to go out and prove a point, show Rooney he’s wrong.
If we don’t have this mentality, we are in trouble.
I’m sure Rooney would agree with this.

Great Interview I agree. Our best player and he’s a Derby lad hope we can enjoy him for a while yet.
Howevet he Hasn’t done anything to justify being played at 10 this season until tonight.
Rooney doesn’t need to learn any lessons with him, he’s managed him right and he’s just the person for Sibley to learn from. He (Sibley) was also complimentary of the coaches in his interview. He’s still learning his trade.
Hopefully Sibley goes and smashes it now for the rest of the season - I think he will

Great interview with Sibley after the game. Criminal that he hasn’t played more in the ‘10’ position.
I’m not having this as Rooney being proved correct in his motivation for Sibley. Apparently he’s not been involved due to conceding silly free kicks and being too desperate to make an impression. What do you expect when he has 10-15 mins a game out of position? You build teams around Sibley, he’s that good. Hopefully we see more of that in the remaining games and Rooney sticks to that second half formula. With Roberts, Sibley and Lawrence we will hurt teams.
Sibley has a nasty side to him, I love that about him. I remember an U18 game vs Arsenal, we smashed em and Sibley celebrates the winner in front of an Arsenal defender, goading him. I’m sure Sibley has learnt a lesson these past few days, I hope Rooney has learnt a bigger one.

Because it's a complete fluke. He didn't start Sibley, he threw him on in desperation because we were getting battered. If you choose to believe it's Rooney's plan, fine. I just don't think it's anything other than a happy accident.

Or Sibley has wasted his talents this season, far to easy to blame the management when your playing poorly.

He threw on attackers because we were 2-0 down and Sibley stepped up. It's pure coincidence. It makes it look like it was a managerial masterclass, when in reality, Rooney got lucky.

He must think Sibley can take it and will improve as a result of the criticism. I have no idea if it'll work but he certainly knows the lad better than any of us on this forum so I'd wager there is some logic behind it.

I think Sibbers will react well to this, if Rooney didn’t rate him he’d just drop him and not call him out.
They must think he can take it. I recon he can too.
