He is a legend. Ever present over an entire season,  as a captain, at 37 ! of a team battered by the authorities, bloodied, but never broken. Dignity beyond measure, leadership of the first order. He defines legend every bit a champion as any title winner.

I have only been a real Ram for 10 years so don’t have the in the blood history of so many on this forum, but Curtis is easily, by that famous country mile, my favourite player. Not for skill or trophies won, but because he epitomises everything that I hold dear in sport. Courage, commitment, competitive spirit, integrity, leadership, guts. What a man. Thank you !

Feel gutted for him that his last appearance for us ended like it did. He didn't deserve an end like that. That moment definitely won't define him for me. Love ya CD. See you back here one day in some capacity. 🖤🤍

How quickly the retained list comes out tells me that the plans have been in place for a while, which I really like.

Sad news but probably best all round.  Curtis will always be a legend in my eyes.  Wish them all the best.

Had to be done. Curtis playing in the Championship finale against Wednesday, signing the waiver to do his bit, really demonstrated his commitment. Such an eloquent spokesman for the club, and always a great listen if lucky enough to be in hospitality when he's there.
And here he is on Wembley Way, discarded by Lampard but supporting the team and bonding with fans before the Villa game.

Shout out to Richard Stearman too, who I feel knew his role and played it very well, never letting us down.

It was expected and required. Those wages can go a long way to help rebuild the squad with younger players that will be in the squad. Davies especially has played with his heart and always played for the badge. Love the man. Good luck to all 3 on whatever comes next for them.

It’s the right move for the club but I’m sad to see Curtis go. He’s a good man and an excellent pro. Hope to see him back in some capacity in the future.

Sad day for all who follow the Rams. Curtis has put so much of himself in the club, I really hope he stays in some capacity. Stears and Chester thank you both. Great professionals who hopefully will get another gig. Something was lost today. Be it part camaraderie or what. Thanks guys for what you have done for this great club of ours. I will raise a glass or two for you tonight. UTR!

Feels a bit lowkey for Davies' departure after years of solid service. Hope he joins Orient next season then I can go on odd match days to cheer him, and also give him a round of applause when we play them.

The man's an absolute warrior. For many, a single ligament injury can signal the end of a career but to to fully recover from three ACLs is truly remarkable. I can't fathom how anyone could endure that amount of physical rehab of the deeply unpleasant kind just to play football, but Fozzy has done it quietly and without fuss. Not only that, but here he is with 10 years under his belt, still churning out MOTM level performances almost weekly.
As @spondon_ram suggests, a testimonial is very much in order, though David Clowes might easily be forgiven for having more pressing concerns in during this particular season. I'm certain though that the owners will do something for him when the opportunity presents and equally sure the fans will turn out in droves to show their support and admiration when they do. I also think that should he wish to, he'd make a great coach and mentor for our younger lads when his career as a player is finally over.

Still think he was vastly under-appreciated as a left-back for us.
In his first two seasons he was the best arguably the best left-back in the division, only Charlie Daniels really would also be in contention.
He came back from his first two ACL injuries to win his place back from Olsson who had been Blackburn’s POTS before joining us.
He then fought off £3,000,000 signing Scott Malone, who himself was coming off of being named in the league TOTS and a season in the Prem to keep his starting place before his third ACL.
I never got it. He’s one of those players that when he has a stinker he has a STINKER but they were always only ever once or twice a season.

    Three things spring to mind...
    1.  Despite the fact that he hinted he never intended for this to happen, and that it wasn't on his bucket list (I'm very much para-phrasing, obvs!), I get the impression that he's now starting to enjoy his new role, and may well have one eye on a longer term project than what he possibly initially planned.  Let's hope so!
    2.  The guy just oozes class.
    3.  Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you.

What a breath of fresh air Mr Clowes is. Must be a dream for a manager to work under as well. 48 hours after a very disappointing end and it’s still focusing on the wider perspective of things. Have we grown/progressed this season?
The answer has to be yes. We could’ve grown/progressed more given the way things ended, but we’ve unplugged our life support, and emerged from our coma pretty well. The key now is to build  more of a core in the club’s playing staff. More depth, more potential and continue moving forward.
I’m glad Warne still has nothing but support, constantly chopping and changing and moving targets to fit completely different individuals is one of the reasons why we’re in this position in the first place. I think we’ll be stronger and healthier again by the time we kick off in a few short months.

If yesterday was Curtis’ last game for the club his legacy as a Ram isn’t coloured by that one moment for me. He’s shown a level of commitment, pride and dignity throughout his time at the club. Guiding the team as captain on and off the pitch, patiently waiting for his opportunities when not in the side, playing a role in the community element, and putting his body on the line with that end of season return from injury. During a tumultuous period in the clubs history he’s been stoic and admirable throughout.
