Not sure if someone else has put this up but a bit of class from Michael O’Neill
“We had two really good chances before we did score, but I can't begrudge Derby the win, they've had a really difficult 24 hours.
"I thought they showed great spirit in how they played, the crowd were terrific as well."

So some intresting facts and a lot still left unsaid.
I cannot see why Derby would be excluded from funds that were given due to Covid, Could the £8.5m held Administration at Bay?
It is true that in the Championship Derby would have been affected more than most due to their fanbase hence bigger losses, £20m is no suprise.
I dont think that we can blame the EFL for challenging us over the valuation (not the sale) of PP  as it was larger than everyone elses. So if we lost a new owner over it then .........
I think Gibson's role in this and the pressure he was able to bring needs looking at. No one should be able to interfere with the workings of the EFL.
We are likely to have a 12 point deduction but we can show that it was exceptional circumstances so the EFL can be forgiving due to the circumstances that they had a part in.
You can tell that the EFL feared this would happen, they have asked Mel to committ for the year and sked for a business plan.
Onto other clubs, the likes of Stoke and Reading have enourmous overspends and that cannot be all due to Covid. They must be waiting for a 12+ point deductions. Others must be struggling so I dont think we will be alone on minus points.
I do feel that the EFL have things to answer here and it would not suprise me if that was in court. We well overspent for a couple of years but they (EFL) have not acted in an honourable and acceptable manner.
I dont think this is over yet

Whilst all of this has had MM in charge and oversight of the finances so it sits with him, I acknowledge that Covid has tipped us into Administration the role of the EFL has to be noted as simply disgraceful, simply unhelpful and a dereliction of whatever their duty was supposed to be.
and on a personal note I will never be handing any money over to Middlesbrough football club again to watch my Rams and do hope that not a single Rams fan ever does go to that clubs grounds and spend money -

Nothing especially original to add but just open-mouthed at this decision. I never liked the big spending but I did respect Mel at the time for seemingly funding it - never foresaw a situation where 'one of our own' would stick us into administration though & the decisions he took then are now seen through a very different perspective.
Pretty telling the club statement mentions June 2019 as being the point where he was looking for a buyer. Smacks very much of 18/19 being a 'death or glory' punt after which he wanted out - very poor behaviour indeed as no proper investor/buyer was going to be interested in the club after such an expensive season with no legacy & plenty of FFP strain. He then exacerbated this by bringing in Rooney, making a mess of the Keogh dismissal & like many poorly run businesses, was vulnerable to a major event like Covid to bring everything to a head.
Obviously a lot of anger quite rightly aimed at Mel but my disdain for the EFL just dropped to the floor - a disgrace to the traditions of the world's oldest professional league & utterly unfit for purpose. Its high time the Government's Department for Culture, Media & Sport opened an inquiry into their management of the League & their suitability for continuing in that role - not just our experience but their already disgusting track record as evidenced by Wigan, Bury & Macclesfield. Their weasel statement about us 'not meeting the criteria' for an emergency loan facility that every other club in our division was given access to was utterly contemptable & entirely predictable.
What next? Well, I would imagine Rooney will be leaving at some point in the next 7 days - either in disgust or in agreement with the administrators. Then a zombie season knowing what our fate on the field is going to be whilst desperately scrambling for a new owner before January - will a new owner want to buy now or towards the back end of the season knowing there's no point funding a loss making club destined to go down? From a cold, calculating perspective I think buyers may keep their powder dry for a few months
And what of us, the fans? Firstly, lets show our defiance by continuing the vocal support we've enjoyed this season - whatever we suffer off the field, they can't silence us at the matches. Secondly, there may be some talk of Supporters Trust looking to buy out the club - please don't close minds to this. I've got no experience of dealing with Ramstrust but now is the time to put aside historical differences & consider how we can move out of these cycles of boom & bust. I'm convinced its a viable option.
Finally, its been a terrible evening but we will come back from this. In whatever form, whenever it is - keep the faith. COYR ?

It will be interesting to have all the information about this, all parties will have a view on it
What I don’t understand is why the EFL don’t want to help a member club when it is struggling and I know we aren’t the first and we won’t be the last but the EFL have so many people who wonder what a load of useless people they are.

So trying to read between the various bits of information
This week the EFL dropped it to the press that we were going to accept a points deduction because if we didn’t a prospective takeover may walk assuming MM would agree to it so that he could keep some of his investment?
The prospective investment informed MM that they weren’t moving forward so he has placed us into Administration - this potentially could help us in terms of a new buyer coming in before the January window so that we don’t have to sell all the prospects in the team despite being in the third division. Sadly the small firms owed money will never get it - that’s never right.

The EFL simply want to look tough after
letting QPR off in massive way - their fine has no impact as it doesn’t come out of the clubs money
letting Bournmouth off with a minuscule fine by way of taking an offer from Bournemouth whilst in the premiership - no impact
letting Aston Villa sail off into the sunrise never to be seen again
letting Birmingham have points deduction that keeps them up rather than the following season
trying to keep Sheffield Wednesday up despite their utter incompetence at the owls
We are guilty of trying to compete with parachute teams spending power whilst half the division is happy not trying to compete eg Bristol city PNE etc
we are guilty of giving a young English manager a chance as manager in Clement ( mistake) giving a questionable manager in Pearson a chance -
we are Guilty of trying to play entertaining football mainly and trying to entertain the paying public - and there are a lot of clubs out there that simply do not try to do any of that on a football pitch.
there’s more obviously but none of it will stop me supporting my team all be it in whatever division despite the overall standard of the championship being fairly dreadful and league one ( third division ) I am sure is just as bad although there are a lot of bigger teams there it seems.
Anyway we have an interlude tomorrow at 3-00 pm up and at em

I'm no fan of Mel anymore, he deserves a lot of the stick he receives, same with Pearce, but, protests shouldn't be aimed at them, they should be aimed squarely at the EFL.
It surprises me that some fans haven't clicked onto who the real enemy are. Protesting against Mel Morris will have Rick Parry licking his lips, and Steve Gibsons no doubt. Any protest against Mel, regardless of our feelings, is another dent against the club.
Protests need to be pre-arranged, before and after the game, banners with words to the effect that the EFL are destroying football. The media need to know so the protests get air time and we need a spokesperson who can appear in the media and give facts as to why we feel we are being harshly treated. Such as; if the EFL hadn't signed off all our accounts we wouldn't have paid 10 million for Bielik, or 4 million for Jozwiak, or x amount for Wayne Rooney.
In all of this, we don't have anyone visibly representing Derby and trying to set our story straight.
I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of the EFL and Rick Parry, I would rather see us play non-league football and fight them to the hilt than bend over and accept guilt!
If Mel Morris reads this (he won't), you have made lots of mistakes, but you have my full backing on this, fight the barstewards right to the very end, don't accept any points deduction, at least until the EFL accept liability also.
Protest against the EFL not Mel!
