Football is all about emotional rollercoasters.

Rumour that your club is chasing some superstar signing leads to feelings of disbelief, hope, excitement, anticipation, impatience.

Eventually to be followed by realization, disappointment, despondency, disillusionment, pain, anxiety.

It's what we're all in it for.

I am enjoying this transfer window much better than last January!

  2. I just treat this as if Belick is injured and not playing football ( he can’t be at Birmingham anyway) but we aren’t paying his full wages but we still own Arsenal lots ?‍♂️Which makes it all a bit more acceptable

As a taxpayer I'd be fuming seeing a football club spending money on players only months after having a large chunk of its VAT liability written off.

I hate the EFL with a passion but fully support them on making us stick to our business plan.

Otherwise its just an incentive for more clubs to go down the administration route to clear excessive debts, whilst screwing over small businesses and the taxpayer.

The Cardiff and Coventry cases bore no resemblance to ours whatsoever.

Doesn’t happen in any other business though - the government wants them to thrive and spend money

The business plan shouldn't be a punishment, it should ensure that we don't get in trouble again, which I fully understand and agree with. What I don't agree with is, the extra controls within the business plan. It is scandalous and has no merit that we can't spend part of our budget on transfer or loan fees. 100k spent on a transfer fee doesn't cost the club more than 100k spent on players' wages and doesn't have any more detrimental affect on the business, which is after all, the purpose of the business plan.

The business plan appears to be more symbolic for the grumpiness of other clubs

Like a few I was a bit miffed he left so cheaply, he had so much potential at a young age, move on the last 2 years and I’m starting to think that £1m we got, wasn’t such a bad figure after all.

Can see what you’re thinking with that hmmm @David but above everything, this kid is not really fulfilling his early potential and wherever he goes next, he needs regular game time as the early hype around him has somewhat evaporated. Maybe not a bad thing, since I don’t think I’m alone believing last time we saw him, he had a touch of arrogance for someone who once graced our academy.

Going to Stoke is like an endless pot of money but only if you don’t live up to expectations

We ideally need some pace up front to replace Osula.

Do we - he hardly played - I know what you mean but seriously he didn’t really show much and there can’t be many more we can get out there

I think our market is the experienced not wanted anymore types (which might be what we need based on McGoldrick and Collins)

with us being in the third division the likes of Connor Wickham,Waghorn and Chris Martin could all prove useful especially if they know being first or second choice is not happening

Warne must be playing his cards very close to his chest regarding potential transfer targets. Normally there are a number of names being bandied about, due to leaks from those in the know, agents etc.

    This time there is nothing.

Can’t see an agent making a fuss about us especially if we can’t pay them !

Genuine question, why would you expect the FA to pay for the upgrade to any football clubs stand?

Even if the FA had taken the blame(probably best not reignite that argument) upgrading the stand after the event doesn’t feel like it should have been their responsibility to me. The FA response should have been (and may have been, I can’t remember now) to either stop using the ground or reduce the capacity until/unless Wednesday implemented improvements.

The last time it was updated ( or painted based on my last visit) was for the 1966 World Cup and was paid for by the taxman

Agreed, there are pros and cons to bringing everyone back, I personally prefer to see a quick player left up front, but recent results are hard to argue against. I would have thought that not leaving someone up would mean that we couldn't clear our lines properly, but MK had everyone back when they scored from our corner.

May well depend on what league you are in

why don’t every team leave a couple on the halfway line when a penalty is give against you just in case it’s saved?

I'll give you Baningime (we barely saw him, but perhaps for good reason), however Mengi was more than decent  - just very injury prone unfortunately.  He is streets ahead of Edmunson, for example.

Mengi was a long way from decent but that was in keeping with our whole side in that covid season - dreadful
