To add to @RadioactiveWaste's post, xG is the most misunderstood stat in football. It's incredibly valuable for assessing performances over a certain period of time, and discovering it early is partly why Brighton's owner is so rich.

Am I the one who has to break it to this chap that Santa Claus isn't real?
I'm asking this genuinely - surely you must feel a bit weird about the fact that your owner makes Mel Morris look like Mother Theresa? I don't think I could ever support him if he owned Derby.

I like a couple of his songs, but thought this one was crap when I listened to it a few weeks ago. Is the rest of the album in a similar vein?

Has PW said anything about him and pre-season?
Yes.
PW has already said, it's in Daj's hands. he produces the goods pre season, he's in. If they think he's not quite ready, he'll go out on loan as part of his development.

I am a Seattle supporter in every sport. I actually supported Oilers in the 1980's as Jari Kurri played there. He was from my team here in Finland and he was one of the first Finns in NHL. After Kurri moved from Oilers I was basically without a team until Seattle got a team. I have followed Whalers/Hurricanes and Sabres as a kind of number two team waiting for Seattle get a team.
Convenient time to support the Oilers😉

I'm just watching Finland play against you guys. I'm impressed of your team and your fans. Britain lost to Canada only 2 - 4 and now you are bothering us. You have a ton of fans there and they seem to be enjoying themselves. Next time in Derby I might need to go watch an ice hockey game in Sheffield or Nottingham.
Do you have an NHL team? I'm falling in love with the Oilers since moving to Edmonton!

Drink Bass or Pedigree and go home when you've had enough.
And @Day says Burton doesn't have culture. What a place.

Inside Number 9 continues to amaze in the quality of content they can push out nine series in. Last night's (The Trolley Problem: S9E2) was excellent.
If anyone is still not up to speed I was on a really boring Teams meeting this morning and pulled out my top ten episodes across all series (I pretty much think I have seen them all).
- A Quiet Night In
- Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room
- The Referee's A…
- Lip Service
- The Trolley Problem
- Love's Great Adventure
- The 12 Days Of Christine
- Once Removed
- To Have And To Hold
- A Random Act Of Kindness
Haven’t watched the new episode, but the first episode of series 9 was brilliant

Carling is a perfectly acceptable choice of lager, and there’s an incredible amount of snobbery around it from people who’d struggle to tell the difference anyway.

Criticism of Lampard for taking his dream job is ridiculous

Even if we had beaten Villa, we were in a hole then and promotion may not have helped.
If you could go back to one point, it was at the end of 2014/15.
Even if you sack McClaren. Don’t go and spend £25m in one summer on a bunch of random players and hire a manager who’d never managed before.
That summer alone is the primary reason we went down to League One. Every bad decision after that was a consequence of trying to rectify the monumental mistakes made that summer.
Mind you, what a fun summer it was. 15-year-old me thought we were going to walk the league.

More rogue than controversial, but Festy Ebosele is the most entertaining footballer we've had in the last 20 years.

Gary Rowett got far too much stick at the time, and his football was nowhere near as bad as is made out.

Jude Bellingham is an interesting comparison but he had started to make an impact at the second tier of British football not the 5th and made his debut at the age of 16. I somehow doubt he’d have attracted quite the level of interest if he’d only been playing non league football. Also, Bellingham clearly demonstrated the potential to be a starter for a big club immediately not in 3/4 years.
It helped that Bellingham was on the radar of the world's biggest clubs long before he made his first-team debut. He'd clearly demonstrated something special in the academy that only a tiny fraction of young players do.

While it would be sad, if an 8-figure offer came in we would have to take it. Say £15m from Newcastle who have the money. The fear is Warne isn't the ideal manager to develop young talent, so why not reinvest in players more suited to his approach?
But, if doing that, we absolutely must do our transfer business in a similar manner to Christian Dailly and Spencer Prior. For those who don't recall, Blackburn came in with a quite massive offer for Dailly. But before it was publicly announced, we were able to bring Spencer Prior in from Leicester as his replacement, for peanuts.

Admittedly an extreme case but Birmingham reportedly turned down a £20m offer from Man Utd for Jude Bellingham when he had barely played 20 games & after 41 games, he went to Dortmund for £25m. I also think we turned down a £5m bid for Sibley from Wolves when he hadn't yet started 10 times for us.
Brown is clearly a goalscorer, quick, powerful & has a decent first touch. He has adapted incredibly well to men's football (albeit in the 5th tier) & given his age & game changing potential, its not beyond the realms that a Prem club may feel his potential is that of a starter in 3/4 years given the right exposure to better players & better coaching.
The spirit of B4 lives on clearly!

Cracking penalty to win it.
Can't recall a Derby player having a more successful loan than Brown?

Spent my Sunday afternoon with a glass of wine, looking out the window to the city with this on in the background. Lovely old time.
