I guess the fact that currently an average of 170,000 people a day are getting their first jab and 300,000 their second so in four weeks another 4.5 million will have had one jab, and over 8 million their second if the rate continues.

OK, I may be biased as someone with a vulnerable wife, but I'm OK with deferring the wholescale reopening as it's likely doing so will create a huge rise in cases.  We're all supposedly following restrictions now, and most still are (rule of 6 / 2 families etc) but I've seen loads of people mingling as if life is normal.  Cases in my area (Aylesbury Vale) continue to rise, and currently stand at around 330 live cases, up by over a 100 on last week.....and obviously that's only those tested or reported.  Cases have been rising consistently since the May lift of restrictions.  If delaying it provides opportunity for x million more to get vaccinated then this makes perfect sense.
There's still a scary amount of ignorance out there too; only this morning I saw a post from one of my Facebook "friends" arguing that the lockdown should be lifted as most people have had 2 jabs and are therefore immune and so it's OK for them to go about their business, indeed it's their right to do so, as they won't a) catch it and b) pass it on.  No, no, no.  It's thinking like this that backs up any decision to defer lifting all restrictions IMO.
At some point we're absolutely going to have to just accept and live with this virus, as we do with the flu, but we're no-where near that point yet due to the current lack of understanding and experience around all the variants and mutations.  Flu still mutates but we've had decades to understand it and tailor vaccines accordingly.  Much as we've done an amazing job developing and rolling out vaccines for COVID it is still early days.
Using a Health Foundation report as a source, in a bad flu year the UK sees between 25000 - 30000 deaths (flu and pneumonia combined) - that equates to some 250,000 life years lost (i.e. how much longer those people would have lived had they not died).
With COVID, since March 2020, in the UK alone, COVID related deaths have resulted in the loss of around 1,500,000 life years - 6 times the amount.
Only one report, I agree but it's quite a powerful message. So if BJ decides to defer for 4 weeks, I for one will comply even if, like most, I too want to get back to complete normality.

It's an interesting one this. Anti Money Laundering (AML) regs do require you prove the source of funds.  It's in the EFL's interest to be absolutely certain they're happy that the source of those funds is legit, fully traceable etc, plus of course sustainable.  If in any doubt then they'd be in breach of AML regs to accept this where doubts exist.  Love or hate them, in this respect I would expect they need to follow British law.
In a previous role I worked with a Spanish bank and their approach to things was very different to ours.  Yes they too have AML laws etc but interpretation is, I believe different.  Their working ethics / practices most certainly were, not least a huge element of deniability, maintaining face and cover your ar5e mentality. It made working with them extremely difficult.  Appreciate this is my experience only.
I remain unconvinced that Alonso had all the backing and transparency required under UK law and since Derby /EFL is in the UK that's the law that applies, even if, apparently his lawyers believed it was all OK.  Like many here have regularly called out, there appeared to be loads of holes in his case.  This latest interview, the principles of which may be true (i.e. had meetings etc) smacks of him trying to save face, cover his ar5e and apportioning blame, something I've seen more than once as referred to above. Is he working with the latest US consortium? I doubt it personally - I see it as a clever use of words saying he supports the takeover whilst hinting he's involved when in likelihood he's nothing to do with it.

Sorry Sir.  If we did sign him I'd expect him to have a positive affect on our play with immediate effect.

The best compliment you can pay him is that he’d be the perfect complement to Bielik ?

Have to agree.  We all look for the bigger named players but having watched Rothers a bit, inc against us, I thought he was one of their standout players. With Bielik's vision and artistry he'd add bite, and be a good compliment to him.

Have to say looked like a cardiac arrest. Horrible.  But great to see him awake and that he's stabilised.  Hopefully it will turn out to be something less serious, aka heat stroke. Kudos to the medical teams who acted swiftly.

Followed Scotland, 3 nights in London, 4 in Birmingham and 4 in Nottigham.
The atmosphere in Bham and Notts was brilliant, Wembley was good pre match but nasty after it.
Utter despondency when Mcallister missed that penalty to new depths when Gascoigne scored his goal.
We should have scored 1 more goal v Switzerland to qualify, but we also should have got horsed by Hollland in the 1st game.
You should have won that tournament, a real missed opportunity.
It's a crying shame that England hasn't hosted a world cup since 66, it would be an absolute belter.

Ok, having initially clicked on the auto squad button just to register a team, I've now tweaked it and come to the realisation that I know diddly squat about European football, who's good, who's not.  This is going to be interesting.

That's pretty much what I have been doing. £50 each month if I know I am going to be able to afford and if it is looking bearish.
I've got friends who will chuck a grand at Dogecoin when it was at a crazy low price and cashed out when it got to 60c per coin. Obviously I'm slightly envious of their ability to do that but I'm safe in knowing I am being responsible with my limits and know that I am getting more in my Crypto wallet than I would if it was in my savings account getting 0.01% gross interest per annum.

Yeah, for me it is all about disposable income - I can chuck the odd £50 here or there but aren't really in a position to potentially throw anything more at it.
