Our best run of form last season was Sibley at LB and this season he was mostly there as we kept on winning to get promoted.

I'm pretty happy with our multiple options across the back 5, don't really think we need to strengthen there.

I think we need depth at the back. If Cashin or Nelson got injured it all suddenly looks a lot less solid.

Not a fan of the way the thread is titled, but I take the point you are trying to make.

We are no longer the biggest fish in the pond, but I also don't believe we will be coming in to the league with a relegation worthy budget. My expectation is that we end up lower mid-table. Clear of relegation but not troubling the top six. As a first season back after what we went through I'd be perfectly happy with that. I do not believe that is arrogant or overly optimistic. I'd wager that Clowes and Warne are thinking along the same lines.

If we are clear of the drop I fully expect Warne's job will be safe in the eyes of Clowes regardless of the type of football we are playing. If we do end up in a relegation scrap then it will be because we have recruited poorly and/or the team (management and players) have underperformed. We should be looking up not down.

I guess coming back from 2-0 down to Oxford and getting promoted ain't for everyone.

PW has already said, it's in Daj's hands. he produces the goods pre season, he's in. If they think he's not quite ready, he'll go out on loan as part of his development.

Quantuma knew that Kirchner was a rank chancer and that the club would probably go bust again in 12 months time if he took over, but they wanted out and until Clowes stepped in they had no choice but to entertain him.

Really hope Daj can show enough in pre-season to be around the first team. He''s got something about him, and by something I mean "Sold by Derby to someone for about 150k only to be sold on from that club for about £10 million".

You've got to ask why this has suddenly happened...

It did, but we don't have much depth at center half to cover three positions so you'd think a center back would be on the shopping list if we're sticking with it.

That's Bolton up then. Can't see them losing to Oxford.
