I take your point..... what's the point in having an injury clause, when you can't sign it legally anyway! Don't have the clause, lhey get injured and so you don't sign them....the clause seems slightly surplus to requirements in a contract you can't sign.

I took your original meaning, but I'm not even sure they are classic wingbacks themselves, other than Ward.
Wilson feels like a frustrated winger who likes to take on his man but who will work hard defensively if told to. Sibley is obviously a converted attacking midfielder who may yet find his lack of real pace and trickery mean wing back suits him better.
Forsyth on his day could play that more defensive wing back role but isn't getting up and down the pitch enough.
Elder's been in/out and hot/cold but 'could' play that traditional role if he keeps fit.
Definitely light if we aim to play wingbacks consistently.  Feels like eg Smith were shoe-horned into positions they played well in, but I'd expect Warne to buy more specialist players this window.
Haven't really got a sense which is his preferred formation now. Niambe could play centre back and so if we see wingbacks being bought then that could be the answer.

    Great fight.
Catterall kept stinging him with the jab ....Taylor kept walking forward and getting smashed with the left.
Thought the gap was wider on the scorecards than it looked but the better man won tonight.

Depending on who you listen to, Taylor either looks in "great shape" or "drained and gaunt" at the weigh in.
I think Taylor might be on the downward curve.
I dread to think what Leeds looks like today with loads of Hibees out boozing in the sun.

Funny how people see fights so different, I thought the first was one of the biggest robberies I'd ever seen. Looking forward to tonight hope Catterall gets the win but can't see Taylor coming in as poor this time unless age is catching up with him.

He just seemed to spend the whole fight on the back foot. Oddly, it made for a better match-up as there was no smothering going on until mid-fight. I fully agree that Fury was shocked by Usyk's power. I was too, indeed it struck me that both camps had somewhat emulated their opponents; Tyson trimmed to the max, seeking greater mobility and Usyk for the first time, seemed to carry the bulk of a big HW, even if he remains a deal shorter than some, perhaps having focussed on developing greater power a little more this time around?
Irrespective, I thought Usyk wanted it more and was prepared to take what Fury had to offer in order to get inside and land some shots of his own. I find him a deeply impressive individual, not only for his god-like natural ability, but his fortitude and sheer bloody-mindedness too. I love too that he's a throwback to the days of gentlemen pugilists, never really feeling the need to get involved in the Fury clan's crass antics. Usyk seems to be class personified inside and outside of the ring and I think the game needs that kind of champ right now.

Assuming he is over his injury, I could see Rooney being retained off the back of a strong pre-season. I admit I may have my rose-tints on, but I'm convinced there's a proper footballer in there and if he can avoid injury, I can see him putting down a marker. That said, I absolutely agree that if any /all do fail to make next season's senior squad, then they really must be loaned out. A hunch more than anything, but I feel like one or two have already been treading water a little and need to be set a challenge to progress further, or not, as the case may be.

@valakari could you please explain where the issue lies with Warne looking to recruit players with whom he has had first hand experience, please? Clearly, in your opinion, should he only be focussing on individuals as yet unknown to him. Can you explain why?

Constantly responding to people like Trav with this sarcy comments is probably the reason why genuine ITKs on this forum don’t share information.

You can do all that, but he still isnt signed as your not officially allowed to register them. Of course you can agree a fee, etc, but you run the risk of the player getting injured, insurance not being valid as the players contract cannot be transferred. Which is why players transfers are not done, until you can transfer the contract.
So I'll reiterate what I said, he can't be signed in secret.

First of all I hope he stays. He’s a good player. He might go to another championship club for better pay, but in my opinion, no where, except possibly that one hat trick performance eons ago, has he shown anything to suggest he is saleable to a premier league club.

If only football was played by stats, you'd be right. However whenever watching the game, it's clear to see, when playing in his preferred position, he goes missing for large parts of the game. Bird is involved a lot more and can play all 3 positions in midfield.
I remember when Mount first came to us, one poster had him as our 3rd best midfielder, behind Bradley Johnson, it may have been missed by some, but you can tell when a player has that something special wherever they play on the pitch. Even at grassroots, it only takes a few games to know, Sibley has had over 100 games and is not consistent enough, otherwise he'd have gone by now, someone would have taken the plunge.
But we shall see, in a couple of months, if he has the potential some believe, there will be a host of clubs knocking on his agents door, he is still young and someone when first bursting on the scene I would have put money on making it to a very high level.

There was some really shoddy police work everywhere in the 1970s'!
I thought Mindhunter did a brilliant job of showing how the FBI started, it wasn't meant to make them look competent. Forensics and modern policing were in their infancy.
I think I read that the episodes that David Fincher directed involved shooting more footage than any other Netflix production in history, and because he couldn't do another series, it wasn't continued.
    I'd give it a solid 9/10, maybe even 9.5.

Thought he was great before his injury. Our only proper senior 'club' man who can offer cover as full back/wing back and center half.
    Doubt he's breaking the bank.
    Happy for him.
