Yeah, I'm watching the BT card next week.

What exactly does Sky call an ordinary show now? The undercard is poor

I was drifting on and off sleep last night listening to Talksport fight night.

They were talking up the new ITV deal with the American Hayman.

If its a UK card, stick the undercard on ITV 4 and the main event on ITV 1 at 1030pm.

If its a card from the US, stick it on ITV1 overnight to get maximum publicity.

I cant remember the guys name but apparently the new ITV sport director is well known for liking his boxing.

As the boys on the radio were saying, build up the UK names on ITV1 first and you will get them on pay per view after a couple of years.

We all remember the Naz, Benn, Eubank etc fights getting huge viewing figures back in the day.

On a weekend break in Glasgow, anybody know of any decent pubs? Got a few options bar wise, but I guess I’m looking for ‘hidden gems’.

Rhoderick dhu, 100 yards from central station and the Horseshoe bar are traditional boozers.

Down Merchant city, Molly Malones, and next door Boteco da Brasil. The O Neil's up the road is big and has a good atmostphere.

Out of the centre and not far from where Inverurie ram suggested near Ashton lane is my personal favourite, Tennants bar.

To be fair, you can't go far wrong in Glasgow for a reallly good choice of boozers.

I had a brilliant curry at Chaakoo bombay cafe last month in St Vincent street if you are hungry.

The whole AJ v Wilder thing has been a farce. Both fighters want it, both fighters are getting mocked for not having it while all these promoters plot and scheme to boost the interest, build names and avoid their man getting beat. It's so boring.

They compared it to Mayweather v Pacquiao where the 2 of them met in a hotel, decided they wanted to fight each other and told their promoters to make the deal.

AJ and Wilder should do the same. I get the feeling £ is Wilders driver though, probobly because his promoter is prodding him.

It's Showtimes heavyweight hope. They have no heavies that are going to make them a penny. Wilder is the last man standing in America. They won't let him lose easily.

The old gentleman's club of American promoters have had their hold over boxing loosened a bit now. The WSS has been and still is a success. Hearn and his DZN American deal is a concern for them.

I think one of the channels dropped boxing. Maybe HBO?

They can't lose the last world title.

They thought a rusty Fury who's never been a KO artist would be a good name to have on Wilder's CV. Nearly backfired.

    Lol!

I listened to Talksport from 10 - 12 last night. They had Stephen Espinoza live talking about Wilder and the rumours regarding Wilder joining Eddie Hearn after last nights bout.

Espinoza rubbished Hearn and his DZN deal. He said that Hearn talks about a big name signing joining DZN every month, but the American boxing press and boxing officianados are sick of his empty promises.

Steve Bunce said something similar last month when he was talking about a shift in how the Americans are going to watch boxing in the future. Hearn came in all guns blazing promising major signings and promotions but theres been nothing to grab the Americans attention yet.

Espinoza spoke about a bout with AJ. He said the immediate problem is the Wembley date in the diary in April that AJ has booked. The money in the US for pay per view would dwarf a sell out Wembley, so it made no sense to sell themselves short.

As for the fight last night, I didnt see it but listened to 5 live. Costello / Andy Lee and a mexican trainer were doing the co comms and all had Tyson winning at the end.

After 5 rounds they all proclaimed a 5 round advantage for Fury but they started to say that a fair amount of American journalists had Wilder ahead at that point.

Wilder is a guy that owns a bazooka, a gold desert eagle and wants a body on his record. He fights for the black race, he's a King and a soldier who's put on this earth to punish people for their sins.

Hopefully Tyson can put his jaw out of action for a bit because the guy is a complete dick head.

I find his act quite tiresome now. Him and his team are very very boring but loud. I want him to lose his title, his money fight v AJ and whatever small support he has in America.

I mean Tyson talks poo but he's got layers and there's a good bloke in there.

Wilder talks poo. Like full time. With any decency becoming deeper with every ego boosting win against the easiest opponents he can get away with. Knobber

Has Tyson got the power to make Wilder take a backwards step? Im not sure he has, but here's hoping.

I dont think he will be able to duck and dive like he did v Klitchko.

Im hoping he can tire Wilder so he can take him out in the later rounds. Im dreading him getting caught flush though.

One thing about Tyson, he's backed up everything he's said in his career so far.

Got round to watching this on Sky last night and have to agree - it is very good without really fitting into any genre.  If I could describe it, it kinda starts in the middle, stuff happens, then ends in the middle, but the stuff that happens is neither predictable nor cliched.

Watched it on Saturday as well. Really good.

Funny, sad, black comedy, race issues, sexism, police brutality, death, dwarfism,  all rolled into one.

  7. I saw Bellew toil to a decision against an Argentinian on a Froch undercard many years ago.

He's made a decent career out of boxing, and Ive warmed to him over the years.

    Good luck to him  tomorrow.

    WBSS tonight, anyone following?

Donaire dropped back down in weight, be interesting to see how he gets on. Carries good power for that weight but Burnett has that classic Booth right hand cocked style. Got to say I don't know loads about Martin but hopefully Taylor can do a job on him.

Josh Taylor on now. Big test for him. Must admit, the venue looks weird.

Is that clockwork tangerine the brewdog one? Had it out of a bottle before and it's a decent slurp.

Yes, its the Brewdog one. First time I've seen it on tap. Far too many downed tonight considering it was meant to be a 2 hour session to pickup semi final tickets.

The train to Hampden tomorrow might be a delicate one.......

Ps, I tried the Brewdog  Quench quake, sour beer last night and its surprisingly drinkable. Never seen it down south but in Tescos up North.

    Plug his shop!

    Its a fair drive..........

Westhill service station, Aberdeenshire.  They've extended the normal grocery shop and got 4 big chiller cabinets of different beer from around the world. They do deliveries etc and have 2 kegs, 'beers of the week' on the go where you can bring you own bottles and fill them up.

When he told me his plans 3 years ago I laughed at him, but to be fair he's got a good customer base.

What is this with the duckin' tinnies!

    When in Rome etc.

My brother runs a craft beer shop and thought I'd try some. 4 local ones and a nod to Derbyshire.

Buxton Brewery arnt scared to charge. £4.99 for their tin, and the Fierce ones were £3.49.

  12. Have I missed a load of advertising / promotion about this fight?

The semi finals were all over the media but the first I heard about the final was this morning, and even then I assumed it was Saturday.

  13. Just watched the news and UK men rate 62nd in the world ranking of highest male drinkers. A touch disappointing.

However, a nod to the UK women who rate 8th in the world of female drinkers.

Probobly explains the influx of Gin and Cider in our local pubs.......?

  14. Haha, to give Tyson his due he is box office in the ring with a mic in his face.

Looks like the fight is on in Vegas.

He has always backed up his promises in the past, and I can see him jab and move for 12 rounds but 1 punch from Wilder might put him on his arse.
