It may be a day late but yesterday was “time to talk day” so I thought I’d give this a nudge to the top of the list.

2020 was a tough year for everyone and I struggled for one reason or another.  A few times I’d typed a post in here to get things off my chest and ended up pressing delete.  I don’t know why - shame, embarrassment, worried my problems weren’t real issues or because I’m a bloke?  Who knows.  I ended up taking some time off work in December as I was struggling so much.  I felt trapped, stuck and unable to think clearly

I have to say having the time off was one of the best things I’ve done as most of my anxiety/stress was caused by work.  And that in itself was tough - just like I’d deleted posts, several times I put the phone down whilst waiting for the doctors receptionist to answer.  For the first time in years I was able to switch off, think about how I’d got myself to that place and, importantly, think about what I could do to solve it.  I’m now starting to see the wood for trees and I’m having CBT sessions for anxiety.

It’s a journey but I think I can now see a way forward.

If you do look at this, thanks for taking the time to read my post.  But most importantly, every day should be “time to talk” day.  And this time I didn’t press delete!!

    Good post ?

Small steps and all that, well done.

It's good to switch off and take stock.

Ironically, covid and the subsequent restrictions placed on our normal life may well have given some of us the opportunity to stop and reassess.

    All the best.

  2. Garcia v Luke Campbell was a good fight last night.

Campbell dropped him in the 2nd but didn't really go for him and let Garcia recover.

Brutal body shot that forced Campbell to retire in the 7th.

The experts rate Garcia as the future of boxing.

Everything is already on our doorstep. Slow down and enjoy what we have. @CWC1983 do you agree?

Well done mate, you've put a smile on my face ?

Hopefully Ill get up the road for Easter once  my parents get vaccines.

Never thought I'd hear Findochty in a song. Brings back memories of a weekend up there with my 2 mates as 16 year olds.

    Have a good one ?

I think Canelo by ko. I think Smith is slightly overrated. He's a solid boxer with a big physical advantage. I don't think that size will be a problem to Canelo at all and he's going to throw so many more shots and variety of shots to win on points if it goes that far. He also has a steel jaw

I have seen a lot of people say "People are writing Smith off but...". I've seen more people say that than actually write Smith off

But they're basing it on Smith being better than people think. Which he is. But he's facing a fighter that's a legend. Being good isn't enough. It will be easy for Canelo imo because Canelo is in his prime and is great.

Tend to agree, Canelo in 8 for me.

I heard it was free to view at 4am, but not sure which channel it is on.

5 live has it on radio I think.

  5. Yarde v Arthur last night.

Yarde got exactly what he deserved for doing nothing of note for 9 rounds. I think he forgot he was the challenger.

His corners tactics seemed to consist of saying "lions in the camp" to him.

Billy Joe Saunders the night before looked skillful as ever.

Bought a 4 pack of this random lager from Tesco earlier, it was positioned close to the craft beer section and I hadn't noticed it before.

Had of them, actually quite enjoyed it. Reminded me of the Peroni Doppio Malto (as it's predominantly got a light, smooth, slightly sweet and quite deep malty flavour, and isn't over carbonated) but 5% instead of 8% (or something like that) - recommended.

Going to have a second in between other beers.

...only downside is it's a Carlsberg brand but hey, it's a nice beer.

The name of it sounds lmore like an Aldi/Lidl  rip off of Birra Moretti

Poretti is the lager on the pumps at the New Den.

It was 2 seasons ago anyway.

It was a decent pint for a football stadium.

Houblon Chouffe is a nice IPA.

Ename and Gouden Carolus Tripel nice tasty beers.

Tynt Meadow if you like a darker beer.

Avoid anything which comes from the supermarket in packs of more than six.

Tried 3 x  660ml Haverlee tonight. Ok, nothing to write home about.

I'll have a look at your suggestions, cheers.

  8. Suggestions for Christmas please.

    Best lagers,

    Best IPA

    Best dark beers

    Best others

Im trying to stay away from the Brewdog and Harviestoun catalogue and considering West brewery as an option.

Francesco Totti’s documentary on sky. Top class.

Don't think Spalletti will be on his Christmas card list.

How good was it seeing fans chanting in a football stadium again?

There are some real gems on the documentary channel.
